DO NOT GO HERE!!!
Went there for an $80 alignment and they told me that all my ball joints needed to be replaced. They said it would cost $1,800 for just the basics, and said it would be $3,600 for other some other random stuff it needed. I then took it to Lithia and they said my ball joints were good and I just needed an alignment. Go figure... Bottom line is don`t go to Kens, they are a bunch of crooks and they will just make up pro... view moreblems that your car has.

Not impressed one bit and will never go back. Customer service sucks. Took my honda accord there a few months ago to get a new belt. Ken and his workers were talking and cursing over each other as I was trying to explain the problem. Ken assured me it was an easy fix. As soon as I picked it up that afternoon I noticed the belt squealing every time I started her up or turned the wheel. Took it back the next day, Ken s... view morehrugged his shoulders and had it in the shop another day. He only half-fixed the problem once again, I got fed up with the cursing and half-assing and just figured it out myself. If you want a good auto shop GO TO SIMARD AUTOMOTIVE!!!

HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE
I had my cv axle replaced at kens which entailed removing my front tire. A month or two after the repair during which time nobody touched my tire or removed it, I needed to replace my brake pads. Upon trying to remove one of the lug nuts I realized the nut on the bolt was cross threaded so bad it it was on there at an angle. Not sure how they even got it on there. But they had to have noticed what they did. After try... view moreing everything to get it off it snapped and broke in two. I returned to kens only to have them tell me its not their problem and I would have to pay for it myself. You would think a small business such as them could afford a lug nut and bolt to get a happy repeat customer in return. Needless to say I went somewhere else just so they couldn`t get anymore of my money. And the cv axle they replaced literally blew out of the hub about 10 months after they put it in. I would not recommend them to anyone.

This is a crooked shop that should be avoided. They invent problems that don`t exist, pretend to fix them and defraud you of your hard earned cash. I learned about them the hard way in the mid to late 1990`s. They had coupons in a coupon book for a free alignment. I took my car in to be checked and adjusted if needed and was told the front end needed to be fixed. I assumed they were honest and paid to have the ... view morework done even though I hadn`t noticed any problem. A couple years later I took it to them again with a free alignment coupon to be checked and aligned if needed. Again they said the front end was bad and would need to be fixed before they could do the alignment. This time I was suspicious and didn`t have them do the work. I took it over to Sears Auto and had them check it out and was told the alignment was fine and the front end was fine. I never went back to Ken`s after that. Several years later I mentioned what had happened to a mechanic at another shop and he laughed and said Ken`s was notorious for that. This past week I mentioned it at another shop and they said they had had the same experience. They had repaired the front end on a vehicle and had referred the owner to an alignment shop for a follow up alignment. But the owner took it to Ken`s Fairbanks Alignment instead of the shop they recommended and Ken of course told them that they had a bad front end and he would need to fix it before he could do the alignment. The customer went back to them somewhat irate as he had just paid to have it fixed. They put the vehicle up on the rack and verified that the work had been done properly and showed him the new parts and demonstrated that it had been fixed properly. So Ken`s is still ripping people off and still getting away with it. Shame on him and the local community for letting him get away with it for so long.

Maintenance Problems
TO: Manager: Ken`s Fairbank Alignment DATE: 4 Nov. 2011 FROM: SUBJECT: Repair of 1993 xxxxxx Pickup Truck Below is outlined the difficulty I have experienced in getting my truck repaired and my concerns: Oct. 24 I visited Ken`s Fairbanks Alignment and outlined two problems with my pickup. 1. The circuit breaker trips when plugging in the winter heating devices and 2. The engine hood would not ... view morerelease. Oct. 26 I delivered the vehicle for repair appointment at 8 AM At approximately 11 AM I received a call telling me that the engine and transmission heaters were bad and to rewire and replace needed items plus clean and lube hood latch would cost $365.50. I approved the necessary repairs. Oct.26 I picked up the vehicle and paid the bill. Oct.27 I was unable to open engine hood. I returned the vehicle where an employee confirmed that repair were needed and I must bring it back in. Oct 31 I delivered the vehicle at 8 AM. When I called around 1 PM it was confirmed that a release cable was required and one must be ordered from the authorized dealer. The estimated cost of parts and labor to be over $200. I agreed to the order and installation. Oct.31 I picked up the vehicle to await notification of the arrival of the cable and subsequent installation. Dropping off the vehicle again and picking it up on repair completion will encompass a total of eight round trips from my home to effect relatively simple repairs. The original invoice included a charge of $52.50 for ""DIO"" and trouble shoot. Obviously this was not satisfactorily done nor was the hood release tested prior to releasing the vehicle when work completed. I feel that consideration should be given because of the inferred shop owner`s warranty of work and the original estimate provided. Had I known originally that the final repair costs would constitute approximately %25 of the vehicle`s value, I would have seriously reconsidered my course of action. I feel this is a direct result of your faulty diagnostic and troubleshooting procedures. As a very minimum, I feel the previous charges for ""DIO"" and troubleshooting should be credited to my future bill. Respectively, /signature/ Summation: It cost $548.50 plus eight trips to deliver/pick up truck to get the relatively simple repairs completed. It included a $52.50 original ""DIO and trouble shoot"" charges plus $73.50 R&R hood release cable R&R and $25.00 shipping and handling charges. The above letter explains in detail my concerns.

Don`t take your Jacked truck there
I live about 150 miles in the AK bush, and needed a truck alignment. I have a jacked Dodge with 38"" tires. Called Kens told them about my truck and my situation, they said they could handle it, so I drove the miles there. When I got there, ""surprise!"", they didn`t know whether they could get the alignment done, because of the tire size it was at the edge of the machines range. So obviously I asked if they c... view moreould test it and see, rather than have me wait 4-5 hours to find out they couldn`t do it, no dice, minimum wait was 90 minutes to 2 hours, just to find out that they likely couldn`t align my truck. I mean come on, it`s drive it onto the bed and drive it off... Needless to say I told them no dice with my business either. What a bunch of jerks, if they can`t handle these things or even suspect they can`t they should be up front about it, and if they have a snafu at least try to figure something out. If they`d said ""we`re not sure"", I`d have been cool, even about the wait to find out, but unfortunately they said a categorical yes, and they do these all the time, well not if you have 38"" SSR`s they don`t.
