This is a 2000 JEEP Cherokee Sport XJ Model. It has been decked out in ZOMBIE OUTBREAK RESPONSE VEHICLE. decals. It gets a lot of attention. It has a lot of new stuff, all put on in the last 5000 miles. Here is a list.15 inch american racing rims, goodyear wrangler tires, monroe sensa-trac shocks, 2 inch lift, kenwood bluetooth stereo with mic for hands free calling, reese roof rack, reese hitch, carr pivoting light bar roof mount, {4} 7 inch HID roof lights, {2} 4 inch HId Grill lights, super loud horns,35% window tint, jeep mud flaps, front seat covers, although the seats are in good shape, steering wheel cover, battery, muffler, chrome tailpipe tip, drivers side window regulator, {2} rear hatch pistons, and new hood release cable. It also has a Tekonsha Envoy electric trailer break unit, and comes with a nice Garmin GPS unit. This jeep is very clean and shows very well. It has minimal rust in the usual places, bottom of rear doors etc. It runs very well and everything works. The 4 wheel drive works great. The indestructable 4 liter engine carries 50 pounds of oil pressure and has never overheated. The air blows cold after I put a recharge in it. The heat works great. The heater fan works great but not on speed 3. It has 2 keys and 1 remote locking fob. It has elect windows but no cruise control. If you don't like the zombie theme you can simply peel off all of the decals. What you'll have left is one fine lookin red XJ. If you would like to see it in person it is located in Fremont, Oh 43420. Leave me a message in questions, and we'll set up a time for you to see it. These XJ models are the best Jeep ever made, and are getting hard to find in this condition. They go forever. Don't let this one get away. It includes the original rims and tires in case you want to take off the new ones for winter. I have over $7000 invested in it, but the reserve is way under that.

This American Life spends a week selling Jeeps in Long Island

Thu, 19 Dec 2013

So you think you know car dealers? Well, maybe you do, but This American Life spent a month at Town and Country Jeep Chrysler Doge Ram in Long Island to give us a behind-the-scenes look (or listen, since it's a radio program) at what it's like to be a car dealer.
Yes, there's a lot of swearing in thick New York accents, frustration, confusion, and generally it's a madhouse at the dealership. But that's understandable when the sales staff has to sell 129 vehicles in October in order to get an $85,000 manufacturer bonus - with several other Jeep dealerships within a 10-mile radius.
The episode, 129 Cars, is worth a listen, but make sure you have 71 minutes to spare if you want to get through it in one sitting. Head here for the unedited version or here for the bleeped version (which is 58 minutes long).

2014 Jeep Cherokee: June 2014

Wed, 09 Jul 2014

I got a text message from Editor-In-Chief Sharon Carty one afternoon proclaiming that her new favorite SUV is our long-term 2014 Jeep Cherokee. And she's not alone. I'm not sure if anyone else on staff would go so far as to use the "favorite" descriptor, but after just over a month of honeymooning with our new long-termer, it's safe to say that the Jeep is quickly finding its way into the good graces of a number of Autoblog staffers.
There's good reason for all that praise, too. Thus far, the Jeep has proven itself to be incredibly competent and comfortable for daily life - it's functional, quiet, and packed with a host of amenities that make it easy to live with. It's been wholly trouble-free (with less than 4,000 miles on the clock as of this writing, it ought to be), but even nitpicks have been few and far between.

25,000 Jeep Grand Cherokee, Dodge Durango SUVs recalled over brake feel

Mon, 10 Mar 2014

Chrysler has announced that it is recalling over 25,000 Jeep Grand Cherokee and Dodge Durango SUVs from several markets over concerns about brake feel under hard braking. The affected models are from the 2012 and 2013 model years, although the actual dates of production aren't available. 18,700 are in the US, while 825 are in Canada, 530 are in Mexico and a further 5,200 outside of North America.
According to a statement, Chrysler was informed of the issue by a component supplier for the Ready Alert Braking system, which primes the brakes in anticipation of an emergency stop. A component in the system was restricting the flow of brake fluid too much.
As Chrysler is quick to point out, the way the brakes functioned was in compliance with regulations and there are no reported cases of drivers losing braking power. Instead, the issue rests with what Chrysler calls a pedal feel that "was not consistent with customer expectations." So it would seem Chrysler is being proactive and fixing a problem not because there's a legal issue at work, but simply because it doesn't feel the way the manufacturer wants it to. Well done.
