144,000 miles. Looks better than cars with half that. Drives even better. I have replaced many parts before they became an issue. Buyer will most likely not have to do anything but drive the vehicle.
Car is for sale locally. I have been getting many compliments on the condition of the this automobile. I will end this auction if I get a fair offer. I live in downtown Chicago with one indoor parking spot. Car is garaged in the burbs at my parents house. This is my 3rd vehicle I hate to see it go, but I have to downsize due to them needing garage space & me not wanting to pay for more garage spaces in the city.

Replaced w/less 10 miles ago:
Front Shocks/Struts
Front Lower Control Arms
Front Upper Ball Joints
Front Sway Stabilizer Bar & Link Set
Front & Rear Ceramic Brake Pads
Front & Rear Drilled & Slotted Rotors
K&N Air Filter

Replaced 4,500 miles ago:
Knock Sensors (Both)

For sale is my 2001 Jaguar. It has been my "Nice weather" car here in Chicago. Never driven in snow, inclement weather or below 50 degrees. Titled in MD.  I maintain my vehicles above and beyond normal maintenance. I change the oil with Mobile 1 Synthetic oil every 6 months. Installed a K&N Air Filter ($70.99). Replaced the torn leather center console (119.00 for leather & $35 upholsterer).
In July of 2013 the check engine light came on. I took this vehicle to a nationally known Jaguar specialist here in Chicago for a thorough inspection. The check engine light was one knock sensor... I replaced both. Front pads had 15% life... I upgraded both Front & Rear rotors with Drilled Slotted with high Performance Brake Pads on all four corners. Recommended suspension upgrades.

Jaguar envisions future without V8 engines

Wed, 21 Aug 2013

With tighter emissions and fuel economy regulations looming, Jaguar may have to do more than make a small, fuel-efficient hatchback to lower its model range's consumption figures - it also might give up its venerable V8 power, Drive reports. But not anytime soon, says Steven de Ploey, Jaguar's product and marketing director, who recognizes that the V8 can be replaced only by something that offers the same, or better, performance. But he has a word of caution: "We are not wedded to V8s."
In the meantime, de Ploey says there are other ways to reduce emissions. One of the first steps Jaguar could take is to shift away from the use of superchargers, which aren't as good as turbochargers at maintaining efficiency and making power. But he adds that supercharging still is "at the heart of Jaguar's performance proposition," and that the company has addressed the current downsizing trend by "replacing our naturally aspirated V8 with a 3.0-liter supercharged V6."
Consider one of de Ploey's comments on the cancelled C-X75 supercar (pictured) for some clue about Jaguar's future: "Some of the stuff we have already exploited to the extreme in the C-X75 is the kind of thinking for us and is an essential test bed to see how we could evolve from today to something that is sustainable in the future."

Jaguar to reveal small sedan at Paris show

Wed, 11 Dec 2013

Small sedans are big business for luxury automakers. The C-Class is the top seller for Mercedes-Benz, much as the 3 Series is for BMW, but Jaguar has historically missed out on that market. Its last attempt, the X-Type, proved woefully inadequate, and Jaguar hasn't attempted to take on that market again since. But that's all about to change.
Coventry has been working on a new small Jaguar for some time now (using test mules like the one above wearing modified XF body panels), and according to the latest reports coming in from the UK, it will showcase the result of those efforts at the Paris Motor Show next October. The show car will take the form of a pre-production concept that is expected to preview the production version very closely before the final item is unveiled at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show.
Tipped to be called XS (somewhat appropriately for the brand's smallest model), the new sedan is expected to be the first to use the company's new aluminum platform previewed by the C-X17. Expect styling to follow along similar lines to said crossover concept and the F-Type sportscar, with eventual sedan, wagon and coupe versions to round out the family.

50th Anniversary Porsche 911 vs. Jaguar F-Type Coupe is a battle of beauty, brawn

Fri, 13 Jun 2014

There can't really be a loser between the Jaguar F-Type Coupe R and the Porsche 911 50th Anniversary Edition. One might be better than the other, but if you're behind the wheel of either of them, you can't complain. In a new video, Motor Trend takes on the difficult task of determining which one of these European powerhouses is the best, not just in terms of raw performance, but also how they actually feel to drive.
The Porsche 911 is one of the perennial favorites of the motoring world. It just doesn't go away and always seems capable of challenging the top vehicles in its class. In this video, Motor Trend takes a look at the 50th Anniversary Edition model that celebrates that heritage while boosting power somewhat over the standard version.
The F-Type Coupe is an incredibly masculine car, MT describing it as "a British Corvette." The coupe's exterior lines are tautly stretched over its athletic body, and it's supercharged 5.0-liter V8 sounds like a demon's growl. Jaguar seems to have things right with its latest sports car.
