***SOLID NO RUST CAR WITH SOLID WOOD***
***RUNNING AND DRIVING PROJECT***
***VERY ORIGINAL CAR THAT NEEDS A NEW GOOD HOME***

This is a 1931 Ford Model A fordor sedan Briggs body. It has only had 3 owners. The second owner bought it from the original owner and kept it for many years. He stored the car in 1958 and intended to restore it one day. He is in his 80s and has health problems so he sold it to a buddy of mine in 2012. Photo of it being pulled out of the garage is below. My buddy had a good Model A mechanic good through the mechanics and he got the car running, driving and stopping properly. The only problem is the transmission makes noise in second gear. The mechanic was going to fix it but he, also in his 80s, died this summer. The car was taken to a 86-year-old body man who stripped the car down to metal. Car was very, very solid. He painted the car green and the fenders black. Paint job is good but has some blems. The top and the running boards were replaced. The car had incorrect wheels so Model A wheels were located, sandblasted and painted. New tires were mounted to all 5 wheels. The cowl lights were replaced, taillights converted to LED's, new windshield gasket installed, new welting for the hood sides, new water pump on the engine. We believe the interior is original. The window frames have been painted but new interior needs to be bought and installed. The car needs the side glass for the driver and passenger door. The other side glass and back glass we think are original. Car comes with some extra parts. It is a running, driving project. The owner has decided to sell it; his wife wants it gone. I listed it for the owner. Email any question and if you'd like to speak to the owner just ask for his number.

Ford previews new C-Max ahead of upcoming debut

Mon, 15 Sep 2014

Looking at a Ford Focus? These days you can get it as a five-door hatch, a four-door sedan, or... that's all. European buyers don't even get our sedan, but they do get a wagon. And while the three-door hatch, two-door coupe and two-door cabrio have long since ended production, buyers around the world can also get the company's larger C-Max. And now, like the Focus upon which it's based, Ford is preparing to roll out a new version.
The tall wagon (or small minivan, depending on your perspective) is being treated to what Ford says is "an extreme makeover." Details to accompany the teaser image above remain few and far between, but following the spy shots we recently posted, it looks destined for some of the same visual updates as Ford rolled out on the 2015 Focus, with "even more refinement, practicality and technology."
Like the Mercedes B-Class, which is only available Stateside as an EV, American buyers can only get the C-Max in electrified form, either as the C-Max Hybrid or C-Max Energi. Overseas buyers, however, will be able to choose from a range of powertrain options and two wheelbase lengths - the longer of which boasts seven seats and the Grand C-Max name. (Remember when Chrysler did the same with its minivans?) Both are set to debut on September 17, so watch this space. After that, we'll expect to see it on display at the Paris Motor Show.

FBI investigating recently fired Ford engineer for espionage

Fri, 25 Jul 2014

Agents of the FBI are investigating a potential case of industrial espionage involving a recently fired Ford employee. The Dearborn, MI-based manufacturer had its world headquarters searched by FBI agents on July 11, and according to The Detroit News, had warrants to seize recording devices handed over to Ford by Sharon Leach, a now-former Ford engineer.
Leach, who had spent 17 years with the Blue Oval, was fired last month, after Ford Security relieved her of eight Sansa listening devices. The FBI got involved shortly after her dismissal, searching her home on June 20 and seizing some two dozen items, including computers, jump drives and financial records, according to warrants obtained by The News.
Ford has remained quiet on the matter, with spokeswoman Susan Krusel confirming that the automaker was working with the FBI as part of a "joint investigation," while declining to provide any additional details.

180,000 new vehicles are sitting, derailed by lack of transport trains

Wed, 21 May 2014

If you're planning on buying a new car in the next month or so, you might want to pick from what's on the lot, because there could be a long wait for new vehicles from the factory. Locomotives continue to be in short supply in North America, and that's causing major delays for automakers trying to move assembled cars.
According to The Detroit News, there are about 180,000 new vehicles waiting to be transported by rail in North America at the moment. In a normal year, it would be about 69,000. The complications have been industry-wide. Toyota, General Motors, Honda and Ford all reported experiencing some delays, and Chrysler recently had hundreds of minivans sitting on the Detroit waterfront waiting to be shipped out.
The problem is twofold for automakers. First, the fracking boom in the Bakken oil field in the Plains and Canada is monopolizing many locomotives. Second, the long, harsh winter is still causing major delays in freight train travel. The bad weather forced trains to slow down and carry less weight, which caused a backup of goods to transport. The auto companies resorted to moving some vehicles by truck, which was a less efficient but necessary option.
