HENRY FORD STEEL BODY

Up for auction is a beautiful 1932 Ford Pickup Hot Rod, brought to you by Halberd Classics LLC, Classic & Exotic Automobile Brokerage.

The late 1950's to early 1960's is considered to be the height of the Hot Rod building era.  The custom Hot Rods built in this time period have become ever more sought after by collectors and their values have sky-rocketed.   With this in mind the builder of this beautiful 1932 Ford Pickup Hot Rod, created a one off custom exactly how it would have been done in that era.

Too many hot rods on the market today have been built using fiberglass bodies that in truth have no connection to the real cars.  This 1932 Ford Pickup Hot Rod was built using a true 1932 Henry Ford Pickup body.  The fenders and the hood are the only glass that you will find on the car.  The body is very straight and was painted in a dual stage candy apple burgundy metallic, which truly makes the lines of this vehicle pop.

Under the hood sits a Chevy 350 V8 that has been fully built using MSD ignition, Headman headers, Holley Carb, Weiand intake manifold, etc.  The motor fires right up and has the american muscle rumble that you would expect to here from a 1932 Ford Pickup Hot Rod.  The brakes have been converted to disc brakes all the way around and  power steering was added.  The combination makes for a Hot Rot that is not only a blast to drive, but also very reliable.

The interior is spot on to the early 60's hot rod days.  The wooden dash, stainless quilted door panels, and vintage speedometer really take you back.  The interior was upgraded with additional gauges and power windows, to give the driver slightly more comfort.  The headliner has been nicely redone in a tan fabric and properly insulated.
This very nice 1932 Ford Pickup Hot Rod done in a true early 1960's style is ready to hit the open road and go wherever her new owners wish to take her.  Whether you are looking to cruise around town and gain plenty of attention, or take to the highway on your next adventure; this is a great custom Hot-Rod for you.

This vehicle does have a clean and clear title ready for the new owner.

Watch how Ford torture-tested the 2015 F-150

Wed, 09 Apr 2014

The Ford F-150 has been the best-selling truck in the United States for the past 37 years, and the best-selling vehicle outright for the past 32. That's quite a legacy, and thus, it's no surprise that Ford worked super-duper-extra hard on creating the all-new, aluminum-bodied 2015 F-150 that debuted at the Detroit Auto Show earlier this year.
During an event at the company's headquarters in Dearborn, MI this week, we were able to see all of the ways that Ford endurance tests, not just the new F-150, but all of its vehicles. From examining things like light exposure to interior materials and paint finishes, to making sure that corrosion absolutely does not happen when steel components come in contact with aluminum panels in the new truck. The goal: ensure that the new F-150 is nothing short of "Built Ford Tough."
But that's only a small part of the story. Of course, the new F-150 has to be able to withstand whatever a pickup buyer might throw at it - and truck buyers arguably demand the most from their vehicles. So in an effort to convey just what the new F-150 had to go through before being given the final go-ahead, Ford has released a series of videos, showing how its new halo truck was indeed torture tested.

Ford pits Cobra Jet versus GRC Fiesta ST, worlds collide

Thu, 31 Oct 2013

Racing takes on many forms in the automotive world. There are sanctioned events that are as varied and diverse as NASCAR, Formula One, Global Rallycross and drag racing, and to be good enough to win competitively in one discipline, you need to have a specialized vehicle. Or do you?
Ford decided to find out what would happen when its Global Rallycross Fiesta ST, driven by Tanner Foust, lined up against its Mustang Cobra Jet drag racer, driven by Roy Hill. In one lane, Tanner has just 2.0 liters of displacement to work with, while Roy has more than double that, at 5.0 liters. Evening the playing field a bit, Tanner has a massive turbocharger and all-wheel drive; Roy has to filter all his supercharged power through the rear wheels only.
So, who wins? We suggest you see for yourself in the press release and video below. And we're holding out hope that Tanner's challenge at the end results in another video from Ford Racing...

Ford recalling nearly 700k Escape CUVs, C-Max hybrids over two separate safety issues

Fri, 09 May 2014

Poor Escape. Ever since its launch in 2012, Ford's small CUV has been the subject of many, many, many recalls. And today, The Detroit News is reporting that Ford is adding two more recalls to the 2013-14 model year Escape's permanent record, one of them also involves the C-Max hybrid hatchback.
The first recall, covering 692,500 Escape and C-Max vehicles, is due to a software glitch that could cause the airbags - specifically, the safety canopy - to not deploy in a timely fashion during rollover crashes. According to the News, Ford says no crashes or injuries have been reported in relation to this problem.
The second recall, covering 692,700 Escapes, is related to the door handles. The News reports that the exterior door handles could open while the vehicle is in motion, and could also fail to latch properly. Once again, no crashes or injuries have occurred because of this. The National Highway Safety Traffic Administration has not issued an official notice on either recall as of this writing.
