Much money has been spent to make this Eldorado convertible safe and reliable after sitting for 8 years. She
still needs some little things, but you can enjoy this Caddy as you fix her up a bit more.
*** Sports Car / Project Car / Trades Considered ***
This Eldorado convertible was recently re-commissioned after sitting garaged, in New Jersey for 8+ years. It was
purchased in Texas, driven up to New Jersey, used very little, then stored. The odometer shows 55K, I believe it to
be correct, the interior looks as so. The recent (2015) NJ title shows 154K
I just had this Eldorado professionally cleaned / polished on the outside to show the quality of the repaint
(some flaws as pictured) The chrome is very nice with some light weathering at the tops of the bumpers. This
interior will clean up much nicer as well as the engine bay, door jambs, trunk and undersides. There is new weather
stripping for the trunk, no leaks, but could use replacement.
Some of the work performed within the last 400 miles includes:
All Systems Were Cleaned and Flushed., the fuel tank cleaned, cooling system, oil changed (2X), transmission
fluid / filter changed and the brake system had new fluid when the hydraulics were replaced.
New Tires, Battery, Alternator, Tune-Up, R134 Refrigerant Upgrade (the air blows cold), A Complete Brake System
Overhaul (master cylinder, front calipers, rotors, pads rear wheel cylinders, drums and shoes)
This Eldorado is not perfect, but shows very well. All the body gaps and shut lines look great. The exterior trim
and moldings are in very nice condition with no dents, no heavy scrapes or gouges. The interior is soft and looks
great (just lightly cleaned) with only minimal wear. She has an earlier repaint (with some flaws, request
additional pictures), a newer convertible top with the glass rear window, a fiberglass top / boot cover is included
and a full size spare tire was purchased. The original owners manual, a factory shop manual and custom car cover
are included as well.
A Few Things Are Inoperable, Needing Attention: The Horn, The Clock, Passenger Side Power Door Lock, Rear Bumper
Fillers Are Cracked (new ones purchased & with the car), A Cracked Rear Reflector, Missing The Rear View Mirror,
The Muffler Sounds Raspy But Not Loud. This Caddy Needs To Be Driven.

2014 Cadillac CTS images leak from somewhere
Sun, 24 Mar 2013The redesigned 2014 Cadillac CTS will be unveiled this Tuesday on the eve of the New York Auto Show, but as often happens, some images of the car have leaked onto the web a few days early. Previously, the only information we had on the 2014 CTS concerned the all-new twin-turbo V6 engine that will be found underhood, rated at 420 horsepower and 430 pound-feet of torque.
While none show the new car in its entirety, the images do show much of the front end, particularly the headlights that feature vertical bars of LEDs that start down low as foglights and continue up to the top of the front fenders. They're similar to the lighting design first shown on the XTS and ATS, except the lower portions are much taller.
There are also views of the rear end and one of the taillights, as well as an interior shot of the front passenger door. The latter image has us most intrigued, as it shows some very high end materials being used in the new CTS interior. The low-gloss wood trim, in particular, looks very premium.
2015 Cadillac Escalade is exactly what you expect [w/video]
Mon, 07 Oct 2013Leading up to the debut of the 2015 Cadillac Escalade, we were told that the new luxo-SUV would be "much less ostentatious" and that we could expect greater differentiation from its Chevy Tahoe/Suburban and GMC Yukon siblings. And while those things may be true to some extent, after digesting the full raft of Escalade information and photography, we can say that this new 2015 model is exactly what we were expecting all along.
No, there isn't a single part of the new Escalade package makes us go "wow" or "ooh," but it still looks like a solid, nicely updated offering that will surely attract the same sort of baller status when it hits the road. For starters, the new front end has been completely redesigned, where cleaner, tauter lines work with the full-LED headlamps and running lamps to create a face that, while familiar, falls right in line with the rest of Cadillac's lineup. Around the sides, the shape is exactly the same as the rest of the SUV's platform mates, with better-fitting body panels and a handsome, upright design. Of course, 20-inch wheels are standard, and hifalutin' 22-inch rollers are available (in chrome, we assume). Things get really interesting around back, where full-LED taillamps extend from the bumper all the way up to the top of the tailgate, and - like the Tahoe/Suburban/Yukon - the rear window wiper has been integrated into the top of the hatch for a cleaner look. It all looks pretty modern and good, but doesn't really tone down the otherwise flashiness of the Escalade package.
Like its predecessor, the new Escalade will be available in standard- and extended-wheelbase formats (bring on the EXT!). Only one engine is available: GM's 6.2-liter EcoTec3 V8, good for 420 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque, mated to a six-speed automatic transmission. Both two- and four-wheel drive configurations will be offered, and the new Escalade should be a bit better to drive than the previous model, with a new coil-over front suspension and five-link rear setup, a wider track, variable-assist electric power steering and Cadillac's Magnetic Ride Control system with Tour and Sport modes.
Cadillac to bolster CT sedans with XT crossovers
Wed, 01 Oct 2014Cadillac is moving swiftly to change up its naming scheme. Barely over a week ago we received our first indication that it was considering a different name its the upcoming flagship sedan previously known as LTS. Then Cadillac not only revealed the model would be called CT6, but announced that it would set the stage with a massive overhaul of its model nomenclature. And now we have another piece of the puzzle.
According to Forbes, Cadillac will not only rename its sedans with the letters CT, but will realign its utility vehicles under the banner of XT - both to be followed by a number indicating its place in the lineup. The one exception will be the Escalade, whose nameplate has such a strong following that it would be foolish for Cadillac to cast it aside. That leaves only the SRX (pictured above), but makes room for a new crop of crossovers said to be in the works.
It's a similar approach which Cadillac's new boss Johan de Nysschen took in revising the naming scheme at Infiniti. While it's bound to ruffle some feathers and scratch some heads in the beginning - especially since the company's current flagship sedan is called XTS - it's equally sure to make sense of it all in the long run. All we need to know now is what Nysschen and his marketing chief Uwe Ellinghaus plan to call the coupes.
