You are looking at a
2002 Volvo S80 T6.2.9l turbo.Pearl white exterior of the car is in really nice shape with only a few small dings.Minor paint chipping on the bottom of the front bumper as shown in picture.Tan leather interior is in nice shape also with no tears in the leather. Motor overheated and blew the head gasket. The motor now sounds like it has no compression.Other known problems with the car are; pass. side door lock weak and is making clicking sound which drains the battery, hood latch cable is broken but still can open hood, also seems like it has faulty ignition switch due to dash cluster not always lighting up,(this is the reason the previous owner marked that box and also the battery was dead so unable to read mileage)and also slight bend in rim as shown in picture. The tires are basically brand new put on right before the head gasket went.New radiator also just installed before overheating.   CT title and bill of sale in hand but again the vehicle is being sold as is.$100 deposit due within 24 hours of auction close via paypal. Vehicle also needs to be picked up within 7 days of auctions close and buyer is responsible for transport. Thanks for looking and Happy Bidding.

This Volvo truck is for the birds... literally

Fri, 16 Nov 2012

If you were mentally scarred by the Alfred Hitchcock thriller The Birds, you may not want to watch this video. For everyone else, this is a rather perplexing event. It appears that thousands of pigeons are released from a Volvo truck at the command of a whistle. It looks visually stunning, but for what purpose? Well, we're not entirely sure, but it looks to be the simultaneous release at the start of a major pigeon race.
Now, we don't suspect that Volvo has eschewed its self-titled Volvo Ocean Race for a more avian-inspired competition. We're also not quite sure where this competition is being held, but it may be an annual event, as we also found a similar video with a different MAN rig on YouTube that was posted in 2011. but if you have even the slightest case of Ornithophobia, you best steer clear of this feathered mob. Otherwise, check out the video of this massive flock on the move in the video below. We've even thrown in a video of the gas station scene from Hitchcock's 1963 classic to get you in the mood.

Tony Nicolosi confirmed as Volvo's North American CEO

Tue, 14 Jan 2014

This past October, John Maloney stepped down from his post as CEO at Volvo Cars North America. In his place, the Swedish automaker tentatively promoted Tony Nicolosi, who had until then served as head of Volvo Car Financial Services. The appointment was reportedly temporary, giving Nicolosi the title of acting CEO. But according to Automotive News, his position has now been confirmed for the long run.
Although Volvo has yet to announce a new director for its financial arm, Nicolosi says they have found the right person and will announce sometime between now and the National Automobile Dealers Association convention, set to take place later this month in New Orleans.
Last month, Volvo also announced that its global communications chief Bodil Eriksson is moving from the home office in Gothenburg to the North American office in Rockleigh, New Jersey. Anders Kärrberg has been promoted from the government affairs post to take Eriksson's place.

Volvo's oldest model earns IIHS Top Safety Pick+ award [w/video]

Thu, 07 Nov 2013

Volvo ought to be tooting its horn over this one. The XC90, an SUV that has essentially been on sale for over 10 years, just captured a Top Safety Pick+ award from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety. The TSP+ is a new title, reserved for cars that earn "Good" or "Acceptable" ratings on each IIHS crash test.
This is a difficult feat for a new car - Toyota's new Corolla infamously failed to net a Top Safety Pick+ earlier this year - largely because of the new small overlap front tests, which have left many automakers struggling. But Volvo, somehow, was able to conquer the tests with a car that predates the original iPhone by a few years. The XC90 earning a Top Safety Pick+ is like Betty White taking the gold in the decathlon. With Volvo in the midst of working on the XC90's replacement, we're curious to see just how well a more modern version does in crash testing. Take a look down below for the crash test video and a press release from IIHS.
