The car was bought new on 11-17-78 at Rock Road Motors of St. Louis, MO by Loretta Kelley and traveled only 11,000 miles while in her ownership, and was purchased out of her estate around 2001 by its second owners who retired to Tucson AZ around 2008 and brought Old Red with them. The previous
owner took extensive care of the car and always garaged it over their 13 year love affair with this beauty. This car was her
pride and joy and always received the best care and service at authorized Volvo

The body on the car is in very good condition and was extremely well
maintained. The paint on the car is finished in striking Cherokee Red and is in
beautiful show condition. The paint is virtually perfect with only a
few small chips as to be expected on a car that is meant to be driven. The car
has been completely inspected underneath from front to back and is solid as a
rock as any well cared for garaged car should be, and has never been in any
accidents. The car is riding on original steel Volvo wheels and chrome trim
rings with like new Bridgestone tires. All chrome trim is gorgeous, glass is all original, and rubber seals are in great shape.
The interior is all original condition all around. The dash is free of any cracks or fading. The rest of the
interior is very nice condition with absolutely no cracks or damage. The supple red seats are all in very good condition and look like they have been
very well preserved
original examples. The carpets are all very nice are not worn or damaged and
appear original. All dials and controls function as they should; all windows
and rear hatch also are fully functional. All lights, gauges switches, and
accessories work as they should. The trunk compartment is very clean and does
have the original jack, the new matching spare tire and wheel which appear to
never have touched the pavement! Also included is the original, complete, set
of tools in bag!
Mechanically, this 245DL runs GREAT! The car starts right up and shifts
smooth as silk. The 2.0L engine is very quick and responsive. It is reliable,
easy to fix, and parts are readily available.The internal fuel pump was recently replaced along with the idle valve, in addition to a fresh radiator a couple years ago. The suspension is very tight and
feels solid even at autobahn speeds above 70mph. The front rotors and brakes have been replaced followed by an alignment. The car was always regularly
serviced and was indicated by the huge pile of receipts. The car just had the A/C
serviced and had a tune-up!
The car also has manuals, service books, tool kit, and original Arizona copper plates!
All in all, this is one of the neatest Volvos that I have had the
privilege of being associated with. It has been professionally maintained and
truly loved by its previous owners. This 245DL is a fantastic car for the
