2004 Volkswagen Passat Gls Sedan 4-door 2.0l Black 160k Miles Tdi Diesel Vw on 2040-cars
Lancaster, Ohio, United States
I purchased Feb 2013 and I want to get a full size diesel truck so I have to sell this perfect 2004 VW Passat GLS TDI 160k approx miles.
Car is not perfect but in great shape for a 10 year old vehicle with 160k miles. Its been well maintained. Miles will change as its my daily driver. I usually drive about 70 miles per day. Timing belt was done at 110k, along with axles, cam shaft, glow plugs in the last 30k. I have some paperwork for some of it but I will have to locate it. I would recommend doing the timing belt soon. It doesn't look like a bunch of work and its better safe than sorry. In the last 20k miles, tires, window tint, battery, windshield, headlights and stereo. Stereo is a Kenwood about a year old. Has bluetooth, cd, sirius activated (will be deactivated), has the factory monsoon system I'll add some more photos soon. Some other features sunroof, heated mirrors and seats, cloth seats, sylvania silverstar headlamps 2 keys are included. Remote works one, other is untested but It should work just needs battery Clean title in hand A deposit is expected within 3 days or I retain the right to relist or sell to another local buyer as its listed Payment is cash on delivery within seven days. or other acceptable terms upon agreement |

VW agrees to halt next-gen rally car development to help others stay in WRC
Sat, 22 Jun 2013Volkswagen has petitioned the FIA to hold on to the current specifications for cars in the World Rally Championship, according to Autosport.com. The move is evidently an effort to keep as many competitors in the sport as possible, despite the fact that using the current spec racers may actually hurt Volkswagen's chances at winning. The three factory teams currently competing in the WRC are at the end of a three-year homologation cycle at the end of 2013, and new cars are expected to bow next year. But developing new racers could cost as much as $4.7 million.
That price tag would put M-Sport (which fields Ford racers) out of the WRC game for 2014 and would put Citroën participation in question as well. VW has already begun work on the next iteration of its Polo R WRC, and the hatch has nabbed four wins in six rounds this season. Now it appears that car won't bow until at least 2015. The FIA has officially agreed to freeze homologation of new WRC cars until the end of next season.
Volkswagen hatches hotter GTI in Geneva
Tue, 05 Mar 2013The all-new seventh-generation Volkswagen Golf hasn't even launched here in the United States, but over in Geneva, we're already getting our first glimpse at the hotter GTI hatchback. The fancy new Mk VII Golf is already off to a healthy start with positive reviews in Europe, and we have no doubt that this next GTI will work hard to regain its title as king of the hot hatches.
The big news for this generation of GTI is that for the first time ever, Volkswagen is actually offering two different power grades for the model, both relying on the 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-four. Standard cars pack 220 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque, but an optional performance pack ups the horsepower number to 230. Hitting 60 miles per hour takes 6.5 seconds (6.4 with the performance pack) and top speed is quoted at 153 mph (or 155 with the performance kit). Volkswagen will continue to offer the GTI with both six-speed manual and dual-clutch transmissions.
On the visual front, the sub-3,000-pound GTI adds the usual bit of hot hatch aggression over the standard Golf, and those changes carry over to the interior with a flat-bottomed wheel and, of course, plaid seats. She's certainly a looker, and while some of us do find the new Golf's design to be a bit staid and evolutionary, the enhancements for the GTI indeed tug on our enthusiast heart strings.
New VW Beetle Convertible ad needs no disguise
Mon, 18 Feb 2013Convertibles make you do funny things. Ask someone if they'd drive a hardtop in near freezing temperatures with all the windows down and they might not even answer, thinking the question so ridiculous. Give that same person a convertible they love and you might just have to ask them to please put the top up even when snow is on the ground.
That guy has to take precautions to enjoy his proclivities, and as this new ad for the Volkswagen Beetle Convertible shows, not everyone understands. Have a watch below, and note that there's just one woman in the minute-long spot, and she's nowhere near the car. Seriously, why didn't VW run this commercial during the Super Bowl?
