You are bidding on a one owner, 9,454 mile 2011 Jetta TDI with Navigation and a 6 speed manual.  This is a private sale, not a dealer or broker, it is still in possession of the original owner who clearly has rarely driven the vehicle.  No accidents, no paint work, non smoker, no stains, no tears, almost brand new.

**PLEASE KEEP IN MIND THIS VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN DETAILED.  THIS IS THE CONDITION THE CAR HAS BEEN KEPT IN WHICH AS YOU CAN SEE IS SPOTLESS**

**Actual mileage may change a tiny bit because it is driven from time to time.**

The current owner bought the car new in June of 2011 at Day VW in Moon Township just outside Pittsburgh PA where the car has remained to date.  The vehicle has only been driven in the spring and summer months other wise it has been in a garage during the fall and winter.  The miles on the car are from highway traveling related to business.

This is THE pre owned vehicle that we ALL search for!  That one preowned car that truly has a great, verifiable, documented history.  There has never been any damage OR paint work on this vehicle.  Adult driven.

The front end and windshield have none of the typical "sand blasting" we get in these cold climate areas due to salt and sand on the roads.

There are only a few items that I need to bring to your attention:

1) There is a scuff on the bumper from a suitcase wheel. (see photo)  Wax or rubbing compound will remove it.  The paint is not damaged.

2) One rim has a slight curb rash.  (see photo)

3) The vehicle needs an oil change which is covered under the factory maintenance program.

4) There is a recall on the chrome tail pipes because they "might" cause a burn to your leg if you get to close.

***Items 3 and 4 might be best for the winning bidder to have handled at the VW dealer near your home town.  This would allow you to register the car with the dealer and discuss the tail pipe options***  THERE IS NO CHARGE FOR EITHER OF THESE ITEMS.....THEY ARE WARRANTY RELATED.  I can take care of them here, but I am unable to promise that the dealer won't remove the chrome tail pipes due to the recall.

The balance of the factory bumper to bumper warranty and free service program will apply.  That would mean you have roughly 1 year or 26,000 miles +/- on both.  Power train warranty would be roughly 3 years or 50,000 miles remaining.

Car is located in Pittsburgh.

Please email me if you have questions.

The vehicle is listed locally as well and I reserve the right to end the auction early.

VW's Winterkorn tells 20,000 staffers of big cost-cutting plans

Thu, 24 Jul 2014

During a gathering of 20,000 Volkswagen Group employees at company headquarters in Wolfsburg, Germany on Wednesday, CEO Martin Winterkorn dropped a bombshell. The boss stated that the automaker isn't operating efficiently enough and admitted the company needs to radically start cutting back to raise its profit margins. To right the ship, Winterkorn has proposed killing off less profitable models and spending less on research and development.
According to Reuters, Winterkorn wants to raise the VW brand's profit margin from about 2.9 percent in 2013 to a target of 6 percent. To make that possible, his plan amounts to increasing cost cutting until Volkswagen reaches about 5 billion euros ($6.7 billion) per year to get things back in order. "Over the short-term, we urgently need more efficiency and higher profit," the CEO said during his speech, according to Reuters.
However, Winterkorn can't make these decisions unilaterally. Volkswagen's works council also has a seat on the supervisory board to represent laborers, and it isn't likely to take the proposed cuts sitting down.

BMW, Ferrari, VW cars use tungsten mined by terrorists

Thu, 08 Aug 2013

Bloomberg Markets is reporting that BMW, Volkswagen and Ferrari have been using tungsten ore sourced from Columbia's FARC rebel terrorists. The extensive story focuses on Columbia's illegal mining trade and calls into question the provenance of the rare ore that is used not only in crankshaft parts production, but is also found in the world's computing and telecommunications industry for use in screens.
The ore is mined by the FARC (Fuerzas Armadas Revolucionarias de Colombia, or Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia - People's Army), and exported to Pennsylvania, where it is refined. The refined ore is then sent over to Austria, where a company called Plansee turns it into a finished product. Now, it's important to note that we aren't talking about the world's supply of tungsten here. In 2012, Plansee's American refinery purchased 93.2 metric tons of tungsten, valued at $1.8 million. That's peanuts, with the entire Colombian tungsten mining industry producing just one percent of the world's supplies.
That doesn't make indirectly supporting FARC any more acceptable, though. BMW, VW and Ferrari are all committed to not accepting mineral supplies from the Democratic Republic of Congo, which is also in the grips of a guerrilla insurrection funded, in part, by illegal mining. The same commitment would figure to extend to Colombian mining, but as BMW points out, it's difficult for a multi-national manufacturer to know where every item in its supply chain comes from. A company spokesperson says as much, telling Bloomberg, "These few grams out of the billions of tons of raw materials passing through the BMW supply chain are of no practical relevance."

Audi rumored to buy Alfa Romeo, officials deny it

Thu, 28 Mar 2013

For more than two years, Volkswagen has been making public statements about its willingness to buy Alfa Romeo and quadruple the Italian brand's sales, and for just as long, Fiat CEO Sergio Marchionne has replied with some version of "Mr. Piëch, drop it." According to a report in Ward's Auto, all that jousting might be over: it claims that sources close to both Marchionne and Audi CEO Rupert Stadler admit that the two are in talks for Audi to buy not just Alfa Romeo, but a production plant in Italy. In fact, a final deal could possibly include partsmaker Magnetti Marelli.
Against that backdrop, a report by German news weekly Stern quotes a Fiat spokesmen as saying it doesn't comment on rumors and an Audi rep has said flatly that "There is no substance in the news." If a sale is being arranged, the timing would seem to point to how eager Fiat is to raise cash to complete its major initiatives. Even though Alfa Romeo continues to delay its return to the US, it just showed off the production version of the 4C at the Geneva Motor Show (shown above) and said that preferred Fiat dealerships here would get them. Then there's Alfa's recently concluded deal with Mazda to develop a roadster based on the next generation MX-5 Miata - a deal that would seem to help both the Italian and Japanese brands.
The monetary issues are troublesome, though. Fiat is taking a beating in the European market and its weak-kneed balance sheet is delaying gotta-have-it products like the Jeep Cherokee. Fiat has been talking to banks about getting money to buy the rest of Chrysler and those financial institutions have also raised issues about debt and cash reserves, and the nasty game of chess Fiat is playing with the United Auto Workers (and now the court system about the portion of Chrysler it doesn't own) could end up blowing another hole in Marchionne's plans. It is possible that this could finally have convinced Fiat to at least see how serious Audi's parent company, Volkswagen, is about buying Alfa Romeo. Or it could be just another rumor.
