1972 VW Bay window camper bus Sportsmobile penthouse like a Riviera or Westy.

I bought this with plans of us traveling the southwest but my wife doesn't see the glory of that, guess she should of watched The Bus Movie with me... I shopped around to find this one, looked at dozens and this was by far the nicest anywhere that I could afford!

Prior owner did the restoration its not 100% complete as seen in picts there are some finishing touches that new owner can do like finish head liner and other small trim, install fridge sink unit which is in unknown working condition I did not plan on having it in there so its just a free bonus.

Has a awesome rear bench that folds out to a bed, another bed up top, another seat and a table that goes between!

Vehicle is very rust free has normal areas of wear/rust like below drivers foot well and battery area, no rot though!

Lots of new rubber seals and strips, 5 brand new tires, new shocks, new upholstery, new paint in original color (not show quality), functioning windows, wipers and lights work.

Mileage on cluster is 43972 unknown if that is total since only 5 digit cluster.

Has a single disc CD player and upgraded door speakers!

2013 Volkswagen Jetta Hybrid

Tue, 12 Feb 2013

More Fun Than A Prius, Less Sensible Than A TDI
Let's have some fun, and do some math. We're talking pretty rudimentary stuff, multiplication and division, to figure out if the upcoming Volkswagen Jetta Hybrid can make a baseline case for itself against two very strong competitors in this segment. The competitors in question, at least for now, are two more Jettas: the diesel-drinking TDI and the fit-for-the-masses SE with VW's long-serving 2.5-liter engine.
To keep the equations clean and simple (hey, we're writers), we'll calculate based on the most flattering EPA miles per gallon stat from highway driving for all cars, assume a healthy 20,000 miles driven per year, and factor in today's average cost for the respective fuels these three require: diesel (TDI), regular (SE) and premium (Hybrid). We'll also start with the base prices for all models.

Volkswagen lays off 500 Chattanooga workers

Fri, 19 Apr 2013

The redesigned Volkswagen Passat has been a decent seller since its debut in 2011, but sales have apparently dropped off enough that the automaker is trimming some of the employees from its Chattanooga, TN assembly plant. According to Automotive News, Volkswagen will be cutting shifts and laying off 500 contracted workers in response to slowing sales.
Currently, the plant has three teams running 10-hour shifts Monday through Saturday, but starting May 13, this will be reduced down to two teams running 10-hour shifts Monday through Thursday. This will be done to reduce dealer inventory (the article says that VW dealers, on average, have a 97-day supply of Passats) and production capacity (currently running at an annual pace of 170,000 units, which is more than the 150,000 annual units the plant was planned to produce).
This, of course, isn't saying that the Passat has been a failure since VW added 200 full-time employees to the plant in February 2012 to keep up with increased demand. The AN article says that automakers frequently overstaff plants during the launch of a new product - or in this case, a new product and a new plant - but eventually reduce the workers as things run smoother and more efficiently.

Volkswagen drops "GTi" lawsuit against Suzuki

Tue, 02 Oct 2012

Way back in 2004, Volkswagen took umbrage with Suzuki being granted permission to use the nameplate "SWIFT GTi" for a performance variant of its small-car offering (2012 equivalent seen here). Now, eight years and surely some very steep legal bills later, VW has finally dropped its claim against Suzuki.
The General Court of the European Union stated, back in March of this year, that Suzuki's GTi registration could not be confused with VW's "Golf GTI." Volkswagen had appealed that ruling, though has now reportedly called off the dogs. In fact, Germany's Die Welt reports that the appeal has been dead for several weeks now.
This news comes amongst continued arbitration acrimony between the two automakers, all revolving around VW's forced divestiture of nearly 20-percent stake it purchased in Suzuki some two years ago.
