Up for sell is my 1966 Volkswagen Bus, it has NO motor & NO brakes. I've set a low reserve. Transmission is there, new unused interior, bed, floor wood, refreshed paint, tires 50% tread. No time and money to look for the motor. The car hasn't been on the roads from early 90s, it was parked and now after some minor refreshments has to go.
The buyer is responsible for the shipping costs. The winning bidder should pay $500 deposit within 48 hrs by the end of the auction, and the remaining balance within a week from the end of the auction. I accept the deposit through PayPal and remaining balance (bank wire, cash or cashiers check). You're welcome to see the car in person or ask any questions you might have. I will add more pictures tomorrow. Thanks. I will install the spare tire on the front, the original jack is there too, I will change the cracked wind shield before leaving my place, I have some extras which gos with the car I will take pictures tomorrow. All the weatherstrip new, the black inlay around the car is new as well ( partially not installed yet, will install before leaving). Volkswagen Golf voted 2013 European Car of the Year
Tue, 05 Mar 2013The seventh-generation Volkswagen Golf just went on sale in Europe, but it is already off to a promising start. Announced as the Geneva Motor Show kicked off, the newest Golf was named European Car of the Year for 2013 in dominating style over cars like the Subaru BRZ/Toyota GT86 twins, Volvo V40, Ford B-Max and Mercedes-Benz A-Class.
According to Automotive News Europe, the MkVII Golf won handily over its rivals with a total of 414 votes. The Subaru BRZ and Toyota GT86 received 202 votes finishing in a distant second, while the Volvo V40 (189 votes), Ford B-Max (148 votes) and Mercedes-Benz A-Class (138 votes) round out the top five. The new Golf marks the third Volkswagen product to receive the prestigious award with previous cars including the MkIII Golf and the most recent iteration of the Polo.
Volkswagen CrossBlue previews a three-row future, diesel-hybrid power [w/video]
Mon, 14 Jan 2013Volkswagen looks to be getting ready to jump into the large three-row crossover game. The automaker has officially pulled back the curtain on the CrossBlue Concept at the 2013 Detroit Auto Show.
Designers and engineers penned the machine specifically for the Canadian and US markets, and with a plug-in diesel electric hybrid drivetrain, the hulking five-door, at least in concept form, should offer substantially better efficiency than anything else on the market. The drivetrain pairs a 2.0-liter turbo diesel four-cylinder engine with two electric motors for a combined output of 305 horsepower and a ludicrous 516 pound-feet of torque. A six-speed dual-clutch gearbox handles shifting detail, while one electric motor spins the front wheels. The second motor spins the back axle independently, make the CrossBlue a through-the-road hybrid.
As a result, the crossover can pop to 60 mph in 7.2 seconds. Perhaps more impressively, the CrossBlue can whir around on all-electric propulsion for up to 14 miles at up to 75 mph. Once the diesel four kicks in, the drivetrain can yield up to 39 mpg, though Volkswagen says the hardware can hit 89 MPGe on a full charge thanks to a 9.8 kWh lithium-ion battery pack. VW, Suzuki mulling rekindling relationship in face of legal battle
Sat, 27 Jul 2013Volkswagen and Suzuki have been undergoing marriage counseling in a bid to avoid finalizing their nasty divorce. The blissful union has been troubled for some time, with Volkswagen claiming that it could affect operational decisions at Suzuki, and the Japanese brand's sniping and constant flirting with a certain Italian temptress causing rifts.
The matter first went to court in 2012, when Suzuki demanded VW get out, and leave its 19.9-percent stake in the Japanese brand in a box to the left. Now, Automotive News is reporting that the company will give the relationship one last shot, according to closed-door dealings between the two in London.
Still, it's understood that VW and Suzuki recognize the benefit of their alliance, and that it'd be in the best interests of the kids both parties to make things work. Spokespeople declined to comment to AN, but the newsmagazine spoke with Frank Biller, an analyst for LBBW in Stuttgart, who said, "Both companies stand to benefit if they can overcome the disagreements over leadership claims."
