This TR 6 has been in my family since the early 90's. It is a survivor, originally built in Coventry England in July of 1974. It was delivered to a Rapid City SD family where it spent its youth. In the early 90's after a number of TR 6's had been in our family this one was found and bested all the others that preceded it. Its body was immaculate and all its components in working order - it had obviously enjoyed a dry youth roaming the black hills of South Dakota . It was purchased and driven home to Minnesota where it underwent cosmetic detailing. The car body and door jams were resprayed - there is no body filler on this car - just freshened with the same original mimosa yellow factory paint. All mechancial work was performed by an anal retentive perfectionist who is also an aircraft mechanic with inspection authority. The carbs were rebuilt, the fluids changed, new exhaust installed and a new roof was acquired as well as a new set of Michelin Red lines mounted that are 95% fresh. The car has largely been stored for over 20 years with occasional drives around the lake or to a kids ball game in summer months when the sun is shining. It has never been exposed to snow or rain while in our possession. The red patina primer used by the factory is evident on the underbody where there is no rust and no thick rust proofing to mask history - this car is CLEAN CLEAN CLEAN. I have replaced the water pump and the brake master cylinder in the past two years. I have set a reserve price equivalent to the purchase price I paid my most annoying brother more than a decade ago. I am hopeful it will go to an enthusiast who appreciates an unmolested original example. I am an enthusiast of automobiles and really enjoy this car - but frankly have too many to clean and attend to - and that is why this is up for sale. It fires up and runs exceptionally well - all the electrics function - the overdrive performs flawlessly - the car is a hoot to drive around town - constantly attracting attention and questions. Good luck - inspect the photos carefully and you will find one of the most complete, preserved, TR6 examples with low mileage that I have personally seen. This car has been in heated dry space since the early 1990's - if it does not sell at this auction it will continue to reside there. Good luck!

Jaguar F Type V6 S vs Triumph Street Triple R in open-air track attack
Sun, 21 Sep 2014Typically, these track battle videos pair up car against car or, in more disparate circumstances, car versus crossover, as we saw the other day. While the outcome of that battle was quite predictable, what'll happen when an equally fetching (and fast) four-wheeler is put up against one of the icons of the two-wheeled world? Evo just had to find out.
Matching up a Jaguar F-Type V6 S Convertible against a Triumph Street Triple R is at least more of an even fight than the last battle between the Porsche Cayman GTS and Macan Turbo. The Triumph has a 675-cc engine to work with, and is very light. Meanwhile, the Jag has a thumping 380-horsepower, 3.0-liter, supercharged V6 to haul about it's considerably heftier heft. Who will come out on top?
You'll need to watch the full video to find out.
