This 1973 Triumph TR6 has been off the road since 1984. The previous owner was having it restored in the early 1990s and then gave up on it and it sat in a barn until 2002 when a friend of mine found it and after negotiations I bought it in 2004. I have tinkered on it off and on for 8 years and have it running and almost ready for the road. The frame is good but has a couple spots in the rear areas near the rear bumper that are beginning to show need of attention, but will not need repair for a long time. There is some rust at the rear of the rear fenders as well as bubbling along the tops of the rear fenders where they meet the rear cowl. There is a hole in the driver side rocker at the rear fender end. With not a lot of work this could be patched and it could be put on the road. The car was repainted the original Carmine Red, but there are a number of scrapes and scratches since then. The left front fender was replaced before being painted but there is a large scrape in the paint on the top front of the fender behind the headlight. Take a look at the pictures and it will show the condition of the paint. There is no rust in the floors that I know of and the trunk floor is solid as well. All the hoses have been replaced and it has a new battery. The car starts right up and runs strong. There is NO overdrive in this car. The brakes work, but I think further work needs to be done on the master cylinder. Nice Michelin Red Lines. The top is old, but perhaps serviceable for a while. The seats are in fair condition, but will eventually need new foams and perhaps diaphrams. There is a small hole in the seat bottom on the passenger side. The passenger side seat belt is not retracting. The tachometer is not working, but I think it is only the cable. With some TLC this car will make a nice summer driver. The paint really needs to be cleaned and buffed to shine it up. It will need restoration before it can be a show winner. There is no radio in the car, but I can include an original BMC radio if desired.

Jaguar F Type V6 S vs Triumph Street Triple R in open-air track attack
Sun, 21 Sep 2014Typically, these track battle videos pair up car against car or, in more disparate circumstances, car versus crossover, as we saw the other day. While the outcome of that battle was quite predictable, what'll happen when an equally fetching (and fast) four-wheeler is put up against one of the icons of the two-wheeled world? Evo just had to find out.
Matching up a Jaguar F-Type V6 S Convertible against a Triumph Street Triple R is at least more of an even fight than the last battle between the Porsche Cayman GTS and Macan Turbo. The Triumph has a 675-cc engine to work with, and is very light. Meanwhile, the Jag has a thumping 380-horsepower, 3.0-liter, supercharged V6 to haul about it's considerably heftier heft. Who will come out on top?
You'll need to watch the full video to find out.
