1993 Toyota MR2 Turbo with a very LOW RESERVE PRICE. I purchased this car on eBay in 2006 and spent a lot of money in it right off the bat. New timing belt, AC compressor, plugs, Wires, Breaks with drilled and slotted rotors, Rims and Tires, Eibach Pro-Kit springs, Custom Speaker Box and Amp, Alpine Radio w/Ipod connection and more. I removed the rear spoiler and welded all the holes on the trunk. The plan was to repaint the whole car, but until then I did a carbon fiber paint job on it instead of just primer. Also the doors are wrapped in 3M Carbon Fiber vinyl just because I liked the way it looks, but that can be removed in about 5 minutes if it's not for you. The Ferrari emblems make a nice statement and the prancing horse on the back makes it go faster (LOL). My time and money kinda got diverted when we had our son a year later. It is possible to be Happy and Sad @ the same time. I have 3 other cars and a company vehicle that I drive every day and may get the MR2 out once every 2 or 3 weeks to pick up the kid from school if I'm off early.  It truly isn't the best family car, but I paid cash for it and there is only insurance to pay (and 93 octane Gas to keep it happy). It truly is a blast to drive, I have just outgrown it and need to finish other projects.  I took it to the Toyota dealership and had them check the car out and Flush all the systems and add all new fluids. Toyota expects hybrids will soon reach 20-percent sales volume globally

Hybrids have come quite a long way from their roots as dull, slow, boring ecomobiles. Today, Porsche sells three hybrid models, one of which is the amazing 918 Spyder. BMW will soon sell four, including a low-slung, two-seat sports car. Even Ferrari and McLaren, full-fledged hypercar manufacturers, are embracing the tech. And all of these cars are sold alongside the same sort of boring cars that popularized hybrids in the first place. According to Toyota Chairman Takeshi Uchiyamada, though, we should see an even bigger increase in the number of hybrid vehicles in the coming years.
"I foresee hybrid models pretty soon reaching 20 percent of global sales from about 13 percent to 14 percent now," Uchiyamada-san told Automotive News. Uchiyamada is the man behind the original Prius, which gives him some degree of authority on making predictions about hybrid adoption.
What's remarkable, though, is that the 20-percent figure doesn't include plug-in hybrids, just gas- and diesel-electric models. "Suppliers need higher volumes to slash costs of components specific to plug-in models, including batteries that should be bigger and more capable than the ones used in traditional hybrids," Uchiyamada told AN.

Heavily updated 2015 Toyota Camry to bow in New York

Looks like the new, "more emotional" Toyota Camry designer Kevin Hunter talked about back in January is going to arrive very soon, with news that Toyota's bread-and-butter sedan will be getting an update in just a few weeks time at the 2014 New York Auto Show.
"On April 16 at the New York International Auto Show, we will make an important announcement about America's best-selling car, the Toyota Camry," said Curt McAllister, Toyota product news manager, in an emailed statement. Considering the high-profile nature of the NYAS - not to mention the competition that will be shown there - it makes sense that Toyota would choose to unveil something as significant as a major refresh at the Javits Center.
We wish we had more to tell you than this, but unfortunately, that's about all we've got to go on at this time. Of course, we'll have much more for you during the lead up to NYAS, including any leaks of the refreshed Camry. Stay tuned.

Toyota GT86 CS-R3 rally car presages for-sale customer racecar

Rallying may enjoy a very strong association with all-wheel drive, but it wasn't so long ago that the World Rally Championship was populated by cars that slipped and slid across gravel and tarmac using rear-wheel drive. One of those was the Toyota Celica. While the little Celica eventually joined the gravel-spewing masses with an all-wheel-drive rally car, Toyota is returning to its rear-drive rally roots with a modified version of the critically acclaimed GT86.
Called the CS-R3, the new model boasts all the necessary changes to turn the diminutive twin of the Scion FR-S and Subaru BRZ into a car capable of tackling the tough, twisting paths that are so routinely conquered by the world's rally cars. That means, of course, the CS-R3 has gotten a power bump.
Expected output sits between 240 and 250 horsepower, thanks to a new racing exhaust and manifold, as well as other changes. The ECU has been replaced with an item a bit more suited to racing, while the compression ratio has also been adjusted to boost the output.
