UP FOR AUCTION:

1986 TOYOTA LAND CRUISER FJ60 with only 130K original miles.  This truck is absolutely rust free! It was a Las Vegas truck up until 2008 when it was transferred to Fresno, CA with it's second owner.  I bought it in 2010 and transferred it to Charlotte, NC and have garaged it since driving it mostly on weekends.  I am only selling it due to a relocation or I would keep.  I absolutely love this truck and have owned many FJ's just not a 60.  Everything is perfect here literally!  I only crank it and drive on weekends with no issues.  It is completely original with exception to the ARB or Old Man Emu 2.5" Lift kit and BFG 33" A/T's.  It does have an aftermarket JVC CD player with IPOD hookup.  I would trust this truck to go anywhere and ride is incredible since I added all new suspension.  Interior is mint with one small tear on side of driver seat.  Everything else is immaculate.  I am only posting a few pics so feel free to email or call me for more pics.  Serious inquiries only!  I am requesting a non refundable deposit of $1500 at auction ending and the remaining balance in 7 business days.  I also reserve the right to end auction early with an acceptable offer as I have it listed in other sites.  This is the real deal as I have owned many FJ40's including a 1979 TLC4X4 FJ40 and have never come across a cleaner truck!  Of all FJ's I have sold off, this one will be missed most as it is my last for now.  You will not be disappointed!  Thanks for looking and happy bidding!

Oh, Kei Go: Toyota set to enter JDM minicar market?

Fri, 01 Oct 2010

Toyota is looking to get bigger... by going smaller. The Japanese automaker is looking to enter the kei car market, a popular segment in its homeland. Kei cars are small vehicles with restrictions on length (11.15 feet), width (4.86 feet), engine size (660 cubic centimeters) and power output (63 horsepower). Currently, Toyota is the only Japanese automaker not producing vehicles for this segment, but that is set to change, according to a report from The Wall Street Journal.
Thanks to its relationship with Daihatsu, Toyota can jump right into the kei car game. Daihatsu is one of the largest producer of kei vehicles and it is currently owned by Toyota.
Although kei cars are restricted in terms of size and power, they are not restricted by technology. Automakers utilize different drive configurations, powertrains and amenities to keep their cars fresh. Daihatsu and Toyota plan to work together to produce Toyota-branded kei cars. The two companies will utilize Toyota's knowledge of electric and hybrid systems to produce efficient little vehicles for the Japanese market.

Toyota C-HR Concept is a high-riding hybrid hatch [w/video]

Thu, 02 Oct 2014

Despite having the tendency to offer decidedly bland production cars, Toyota occasionally surprises us with interesting concept cars. Such is the case with the C-HR concept making its debut at the Paris Motor Show this week. It's a concept showing forward-thinking design that hints at "a type of crossover vehicle Toyota would like to bring to market," according to the automaker's release, and it rides on an all-new platform and uses a hybrid powertrain.
About that powertrain: Toyota isn't revealing anything, just saying that it will - brace yourselves - "deliver significantly improved fuel efficiency" (over what, exactly?) The car also uses a brand-new architecture, though it hasn't really revealed any major details about that aspect, either.
It's a high-riding, muscular thing, with a rakish hatchback shape. Should it reach production, Toyota says it would take the shape of a C-segment crossover. It'd be cool to see something like this hit the road someday, but for now, we won't hold our breath.
