Listing this for our father.

It's Cheap and I'm not getting much interest here on Ebay,

So I am advertising it locally as well. If a local offer precedes an Ebay bid I

will sell it locally. But if I do get an Ebay bid, then it will sell on Ebay. Thanks

The last 5 years this rig has spent more time parked than anything else.

The chevy 350 starts up with a couple pumps of the gas, and isn't too cold blooded.

It runs good.

Standard transmission works great. No chatter or jumping out of gear at all.

Shifts Smoothe.

No leaks on my garage floor.

4 wheel drive is amazing.

In its day it was the best 4x4 in the world.

Its easy to tell why.

There was a bit of rust cut out. and a bit left as you can see.

The floors are very solid as you can see in the pictures.

Just some surface rust.

No rust that I can see on the frame. Looks solid

And as these go this one has very little rust.

Drives and stops ok, but brakes bleed off if it sits for a long time.

Seats are very nice.

Has 2 back jump seats, not installed.

Has original rear heater.

Has bikini/safari top. (not sure how it fits. Never tried it.)

Tires have plenty usable tread left.

You might switch to radials though. Likes to wander a bit.

Used more as a toy than a daily driver.

It is a solid FJ40 that needs to go to someone that will restore or use it.

Starting bids at just $2800. High bidder gets it.

Please if you have less than 10 feedback, call me before bidding.

I don't have time to waste relisting if you don't pay.

Please ask any and all questions before bidding.

I would rather have you excited than disappointed.

This is a 45 year old rig. Not new. Great shape for her age though.

Buyer to arrange His or Her own shipping.

I will assist with loading and work with the shipper's schedule.

Sold as is.

Please pay promptly.

I prefer wire transfer.

No pay pal.

Thank you.

Toyota launches Pixis Space; first kei cars are Daihatsus in drag

Fri, 09 Sep 2011

Toyota has announced that it will unveil its first-ever kei car to be sold under its recently launched Pixis sub-brand. The vehicle, called the Pixis Space, will make its official debut in late September. Based on the Daihatsu Move Conte, the Pixis Space will be sold at Toyota dealerships through what the automakers calls "Pixis stations." Yes, seriously.
After Toyota's version of the Daihatsu Move Conte makes its debut, the Japanese automaker will launch a Pixis-badged Daihatsu Hijet truck and microvan in December. By the end of 2012, Toyota says it will launch a Pixis version of the upcoming Daihatsu e:S - a vehicle that returns 70.6 miles per gallon (U.S.) as measured under Japan's JC08 test cycle.
In case you weren't aware, Daihatsu - Japan's oldest manufacturer of automobiles - operates under the control of Toyota. In other words, these Pixis machines are simply badge engineering at the kei level.

Toyota again claims Corolla outsold Focus worldwide

Wed, 10 Apr 2013

Toyota isn't convinced the Ford Focus was the best-selling nameplate globally last year. Bloomberg reports that for the second time in seven months, both Toyota and Ford are laying claim to the title. Ford cites R.L. Polk & Co. data that says the automaker moved some 1.02 million Focus models in 2012 compared to just 872,774 Toyota Corolla units. But Toyota says the actual figure is closer to 1.16 million Corolla models.
Last year, Ford said it took the sales crown through the fist half of 2012 based on information from IHS Automotive, but Toyota pointed out those numbers left out models like the Corolla-based Matrix and Auris, as well as the Corolla Fielder and Scion xB-based Corolla Rumion. Whether or not Toyota's belief that all these cars should be counted in the Corolla bucket is accurate or not is seemingly up for debate... as is the question of why it matters so much to both parties.
This time around, Ford is holding the line that the Focus is the "best-selling nameplate," with Erich Merkle, a US sales analyst with Ford saying the company's figure is, "a pure number that is verified by a third party." Toyota, meanwhile, has requested clarification from Polk.

Toyota GT86 engineers explored shooting brake and sedan variants, are they still in the cards?

Wed, 13 Mar 2013

According to the Toyota UK blog, engineers for the automaker were so excited developing the GT86 coupe that they investigated producing a whole family of models based on the rear-wheel drive sports car. And at least one engineer - product chief Tetsuya Tada - still hopes it can happen, even if not everyone at Toyota is onboard. Tada: "Actually we tried to do this secretly but the executives found us out. They said: 'What are you doing? Will you please focus on the coupe.'"
Those mooted variants included both a four-door sedan and a shooting brake. Why? Aside from the pure excellence of a lightweight, brilliantly handling hatchback, Toyota was keenly aware of the fact that it may need to spread the cost of development out across several models. Tada says that's part of the reason why it was so easy to create the convertible. The company knew from the outset that a softtop version was in the cards, and built the machine's structure to accommodate having the roof sliced off.
Tada also made mention of the already-announced collaboration between Toyota and BMW. The engineer said that the GT86 was particularly helpful because it demonstrated just how successful a product conceived and designed by two different companies can be. While he didn't say exactly what Toyota and BMW are up to, it's clear the two are looking into a number of possibilities. It's an interesting read with a lot of
