Selling this for a family friend so I will try and describe it to the best of my knowledge.

Hard to find model, especially in this good of condition.  Rust free, original Southern California, Blue-Plate car garaged most of it's life.

Has had one repaint in original sliver that is in excellent glossy condition.  Only a couple of small scratches on the passenger side that are barely noticeable.  Cloth interior in excellent condition as well.  Only one small hole on the side of the drivers seat (see picture).
NO cracks on dash.

Car is loaded with Sun Roof, working cold Air Conditioning (R-134), power windows, locks, cruise control, tilt wheel, original AM/FM cassette with Equalizer, full gauges including tachometer and working digital clock. Original owners manual.

Runs Great and passed California Emission inspection, and recently renewed registration.
This car gets looks and compliments almost daily. Must See!!!

The negatives:
*Cowling under front bumper dented (see picture)
*Missing one wheel center cap, and the other 3 have a hole drilled in the centers (may have had knock-offs in the past)
*Missing right rear wheel well chrome trim piece
*Transmission pan gasket leaks a few drops on every drive (engine has NO leaks)
*Slight sag on driver door (possible worn bushing)
*Steering column loose

Thanks for looking and good luck!

Unifor may establish local union for Toyota's Canadian plants

Thu, 17 Jul 2014

Union tactics apparently translate across borders, as Canada's Unifor may take inspiration from the United Auto Workers' recent move at the Volkswagen factory in Chattanooga, TN, and establish a local for the Toyota factories in Cambridge and Woodstock.
Unifor last attempted to organize the workers at the two factories, which are responsible for production of the Toyota Corolla (above), RAV4 and Lexus RX back in April, but that vote was eventually delayed. According to that report, 3,000 of the two plants' 7,500 employees signed union cards, but that apparently wasn't enough for Unifor to force a vote.
Because of this, the union is looking at the local approach, like what the UAW is attempting with VW.

Race Recap: 2014 24 Hours of Le Mans defines 'endurance'

Mon, 16 Jun 2014

Commenting on the rush of events that rocked beginning and end of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, Paul Truswell of Radio Le Mans said "the race is about the ability to endure, not just the ability of drivers to do what they do for a long time." The entire race machine, all the way down to the pit boards and radios, has to survive the stress and abuse of the entire day. This was the race to prove those words.
There were two Toyotas, two Porsches and three Audis, five of the seven led the race at some point, six of the seven ran in the top three. Toyota will be hugely disappointed that it didn't win when its car and drivers were so, so strong, but they gave Audi the kind of scare we haven't seen since the best of Peugeot's days, and Toyota did a better job of it even in the loss. Porsche blew away everyone's expectations, falling 3.5 hours short of a fairy tale ending that would have made Disney cry.
But Le Mans doesn't really do fairy tales. Well, not that fairy tale. Audi's Twitter handle during the event was #welcomechallenges. As usual, Le Mans answered for the entire field.

Toyota found not at fault in alleged unintended acceleration crash

Fri, 11 Oct 2013

Toyota has already paid out millions and billions of dollars in settlements surrounding unintended acceleration, but the first lawsuit in the matter, which headed to a California court in July, has reached a verdict. Following the 2009 death of Noriko Uno, whose 2006 Camry was hit by another car and then sped out of control before crashing into a tree, the jury found that Toyota was not at fault in the crash.
Even though the 2006 Camry (shown above) wasn't involved in any of the unintended acceleration-related recalls and it was not equipped with a brake override, Automotive News reports that the jury's verdict says there was no defect in the car and actually blames the entire incident on the driver that ran into Uno's car - to the tune of $10 million. The accident started when the other driver ran a stop sign and hit Uno's car, and the report says that medical conditions (including diabetes) caused Uno to fail to stop her Camry.
The AN article also states that this lawsuit was a bellwether case for around 85 other personal-injury and wrongful-death suits against Toyota, but there are still many impending suits across the country. Scroll down for an official statement on this particular case from Toyota.
