I bought this 2000 Toyota Camry LE, 6cyl, manual transmission on November 10, 2013 from a dealer in Chicago. I drove it from Chicago to NYC and then to Fairburn GA where I have been living since then. The original owner had the car for 12 years and sold it to a dealer from whom I purchased the car. I have a copy of the Carfax I received from the dealer in October 2013. I also have the original owner's manual and the original pre-service delivery checklist and a scheduled maintenance guide.

This is a list of maintenance and repair items I have made since the purchase:

1. 11/19/13 -4 wheel alignment, replaced front and rear struts, replaced front and rear links and sway bar bushings, replaced EGR valve and EGR controller, replaced faulty light sensor and signal, replaced all engine mounts, replaced rear brakes, pads and rotors and adjustment with 4 wheel alignment & balance -

2. 11/22/13 - Passed Georgia Vehicle Emissions Inspection

4. 11/27/13 - 12/3/13 - Remove and replace Catalytic from exhaust manifold back, Install Muffler and Pipe, Remove and replace Tie Rod End, both Outer & Inner, Remove & Install Axle shaft Assembly - Repair Cost $ 1,726.06

5. 02/08/14 - Replace punctured tire with 1 new Michelin Primacy - 4 tires rotated - $145.68 plus spare

130,000 Toyota Tundra pickups recalled over airbag issue

Toyota is announcing a recall for about 130,000 examples of the 2014 Tundra Tundra pickup in Crew-Max Cab and Double Cab configurations.
According to the company, the "garnish on the center pillars" inside the trucks might not have been installed correctly. If the vehicle were in an accident, the side curtain airbags could deploy in the wrong shape. Toyota says that it's not aware of any crashes, injuries or fatalities related to this potential problem.
To fix the issue, the pickups will have their interior center pillars inspected, and if faulty, the pieces will be replaced. Obviously, this will be done at no cost to owners. Scroll down to read the full announcement.

Toyota GT86, Scion FR-S sales disappointing worldwide?

Okay, folks - it appears we've got a problem. The Toyota GT86, Europe's counterpart to our own beloved Subaru BRZ and Scion FR-S coupes, is apparently not selling too well. This, according to Toyota's European Vice President of Research and Development, Gerald Killman, is what's limiting plans for additional variants of the rear-drive coupe.
"A faster version of that car would be at the top of most people's wish lists, but like the cabriolet, it is hard to justify a business case to push either model into production based on the current sales," Killman told AutoExpress. "Personally, I think that engine could use a little bit more," he added.
More troubling is that slow sales aren't limited to the Euro-spec car, with Killman claiming that the GT86 have been missing sales targets in major markets around the globe. It may not be that the US is one of those major markets, though. Scion's Vice President, Doug Murtha, tells Autoblog that his brand is happy with the sales of its version of the GT86, the FR-S. 18,000 units were sold last year, which Murtha says is "generally in line with original expectations for the car."

The Toyota Tundra is the automotive version of off-brand Cheerios: it doesn't dominate the market, and it's not the first model people think of when they hear the term "pickup truck."
Ford, General Motors and Ram dominate the segment with vehicles that offer ridiculous levels of towing and payload capacities and models loaded with luxury items and primed with tech-rich engines. The off-brands, meanwhile, are led by the Tundra, which while still accounting for six-figure sales (112,732 units in 2013, up from 101,621 in 2012), sits well behind the F-150s and Silverados of the world. After our first drive of the revamped 2014 Tundra, we came away thinking this truck is a total underachiever, aimed at placating Toyota loyalists and doing little to win over new customers.
But everybody deserves a second chance, and we thought a week's drive in a different environment might lead to a different - or at least a more fully realized - opinion. While the Tundra might not be an industry leader, it still makes it on many truck buyers' shopping lists. So, should you consider this off-brand pickup truck?
