For sale is my 1999 Toyota Camry. It is a Florida car that has been in my family since 2005. The car is in an excellent mechanical conditions. The engine, transmission and A/C are working without any issues. There are no known mechanical or any other problems. The car has some imperfections on its exterior - please examine the pictures. The paint is scratched in few places and the rear corner above the tail light has been dented. I have fixed it my self so that is does not rust, but upon close inspection (1 feet from the car), one may notice the dent. Otherwise, there is no rust on the car. For its entire life, the car has never been exposed to the snow or salt. The interior is in a very good condition. No one in my family smokes so the car has always been smoke free. The tires are relatively new with at east 3/4 of the lifespan left. If you may have any additional questions, please do not hesitate to email me. I will be happy to provide you with additional photos as well. A deposit of $500 is due within 48 hours of the auction end. The acceptable methods of payment are cash, check after it clears, cashier's check or PayPal. The car is located in West Melbourne, FL and is available for local pickup and inspection. Toyota asking NHTSA for waiver on 206K vehicles
Fri, 14 Mar 2014Toyota has filed a petition with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration asking for a waiver to avoid recalling about 206,271 2012-2014 Camry, Avalon, Corolla, Sienna, Tundra and Tacoma vehicles, some of its most popular models. The affected vehicles contain seat heaters that might not meet government flammability standards. Toyota says in the waiver that "the chance of fire or flame induced by a malfunctioning seat heater is essentially zero," according to The Detroit News. The automaker notes the part makes up less than one percent of the seat's weight.
Initial reports of the problem arose in late January when Toyota issued a stop-sale order for 2013 and 2014 model year versions of those vehicles. The automaker says that there have no been reports of fires or injuries in the affected cars, and the problem was discovered during testing by the South Korean government, according to The Detroit News.
We've reached out to Toyota for comment on this development and are awaiting a reply. We'll update this post if and when we hear back.
Toyota teases 2014 4Runner, will debut on April 27
Thu, 18 Apr 2013The 2014 Toyota 4Runner appears to be getting a styling refresh that is as out of the ordinary for Toyota as the venue at which it will be debuting. Launching on April 27 at the 2013 Stagecoach Music Festival in Indio, CA, the 2014 4Runner looks to be getting more of an in-your-face design. Toyota says this marks the first time it has ever revealed a new product at a music festival.
While we only see two images of the updated 2014 4Runner, the new headlights break from the rectangular shape present on the current model for an edgy, scalloped shape. Below the headlights are vertical air inlets - looking quite similar to the 2014 Subaru Forester XT - but it isn't clear if all models will get these or just special trim levels. The other image Toyota released was of the smoked, LED taillight.
As the presenting sponsor of the music festival, Toyota will have legendary off-road driver Ivan "Ironman" Stewart at the show as well as an off-road driving course for people to drive the automaker's trucks and SUVs. Toyota Pro/Celebrity Race Scion FR-S [w/video]
Thu, 07 Mar 2013Toyota has been hosting its Pro/Celebrity race at the Toyota Grand Prix on Long Beach since 1977. The charity event, which has raised millions of dollars over the years, traditionally pits Hollywood celebrities against professional athletes (including race car drivers) on the full Grand Prix course in modified street vehicles. The short, sprint-style race is popular with the crowds as the amateur drivers race uninhibited - the result is an action-packed race with plenty of excitement and automotive... er... carnage.
Over the decades, the drivers have raced a variety of Toyota products including last year's front-wheel-drive Scion tC. But this year, Toyota announced at the Chicago Auto Show that the new rear-wheel-drive Scion FR-S would be stepping up to the plate. The good news only became better when Toyota Motorsports invited us out to Southern California's Willow Springs Raceway (the same circuit where the drivers train and practice) to be one of the first behind the wheel.
