1993 Toyota 4 Runner is in great working condition overall.

(( I have the CAR FAX report available upon request))

The Bad: check with me to see if I have already fixed this problem after I post this ad.
It has a sensor (02 or throttle position sensor) that is out and causing it to bog down.

The Good:
Everything else!
Paint - partly repainted. Minor rust under two front doors but NOT rusted through.
Under carriage - good, no rust except small amount to surface rust on back axle.
Drivability - great for it's age except the sensor problem above.
Reliability - good, can be driven anywhere.
Interior - wear to the drivers seat - could be fixed.
Exterior - some dents here and there but overall straight - no wrecks.
Frame - good solid, not bent
Suspension - good, new shocks front and rear, air shocks adjustable in rear.
Control arms and bushings - many replaced, pretty solid driving overall, straight on road, no wobble or pulling.
AC - great
Heat - great
Stereo - stock, with a tape player.

I have fixed or replaced:
Radiator
Timing belt
Hoses all over
Vacuum lines
Rubber gaskets
Other gaskets
Rear main seal
Differential seal
Front bearings
Stabilizer bar/bushings
Air intake
Manifold, head gasket (restored)
Injectors
Spark plugs
Wires and other components.
Transmission service
Brake service
Brake pads (good still)
New BF Goodrich tires
Bumpers - Steel custom made and very strong
Lights (LED) front and rear
Winch (works great)
Switches for lights
Box for light relays all done very well and professionally.
Air horn
Gun safe
Other little things here and there.

This vehicle would be great for a 2nd vehicle or toy. Not recommended for a girl or child that will travel to school. I use it as a 3rd car and drive it when needed for fun. I love to play around with it but need a vehicle to travel in with the family.
I will either fix the "sensor" problem then sell it later or reduce price to accommodate it. You are also welcome to talk with my personal mechanic here in Houston if needed.

I have many receipts for the work done and know the previous owner. I have the CLEAR title. I have spent over 16K on this vehicle. It's pretty cool and hate to sell it.

Email me if you have any questions.

Toyota's refreshed Sai is a Lexus HS by any other name

Wed, 04 Sep 2013

Toyota first launched Lexus in the United States back in 1989, but it wasn't until 2005 that it brought the luxury marque home to roost. But don't think that Toyota didn't find a way of selling many of its premium models in the Japanese Domestic Market in the meantime. The Lexus LS was sold as the Toyota Celsion, the ES as the Vista and Camry Prominent, and the SC as the Soarer. (We could go on, but you get the point.)
These days Lexus sells in markets around the world, including Japan, but Toyota still spins off its own versions of Lexus models to sell domestically as well. Like the new Sai, for example. Sharing its platform, hybrid propulsion and much more with the Lexus HS (which you may remember as the world's first dedicated luxury hybrid until it was pulled from the market early last year), the Sai was introduced to Japan at the same time as the HS was rolled out around the world. Now nearly four years on the market, Toyota has given it a bit of a refresh.
Boasting a far more aggressive front end and a restyled rear, the revised Sai features LED headlights, 16-inch alloys and a higher-quality interior in which JDM buyers will find a new center console and trim, along with an optional 10-speaker infotainment system. Toyota also boasts that the new Sai is made of 20-percent Ecological Plastic and recycled resin.

Toyota Camry Hybrid SE adds a dash of limited-edition sport

Tue, 04 Feb 2014

For drivers who want to benefit from the increased efficiency of a hybrid sedan but who don't want to look like they'd rather be hugging trees, Toyota has just announced its 2014.5 Camry Hybrid SE Limited Edition.
The SE LTD combines the exterior bits and pieces that make the SE look sportier than other Camry models with the 2.5-liter, four-cylinder engine, electric motor and nickel metal hydride battery pack of the Camry Hybrid. That means the Hybrid SE offers up 200 combined system horsepower to the front wheels, and we'd expect it to be rated at the same 40 miles per gallon city and 38 highway of the Camry XLE Hybrid.
Only 5,000 units will be produced between February and June of 2014, with an asking price of $27,845, which is about $700 more expensive than the base Camry Hybrid LE or $2,620 less than the Hybrid XLE that Toyota says shares a similar level of equipment. Sounds like a fair shake to us. Scroll down below for the complete press release.

Toyota Tundra ditches V6 for 2015

Fri, 12 Sep 2014

The Toyota Tundra debuted in new-ish form for the 2014 model year, but as we head into 2015, the truck boasts a couple of small updates. Most notably, the base V6 engine has been discontinued. On top of that, there's the new TRD Pro model on offer for 2015, which we've told you about before.
Why kill the V6? Simple - it was very low-volume. "The Tundra V6 take rate was significantly less than five percent," a Toyota spokesperson confirmed via email to Autoblog. So for 2015, the two V8 engine options remain - a 4.6-liter unit with 310 horsepower and 327 pound-feet of torque, or the more powerful 5.7-liter powerplant with 381 hp and 401 lb-ft. Both engines are mated to a six-speed automatic transmission, and rear-wheel drive is standard. Four-wheel drive, of course, is available with either engine.
The only other noteworthy changes for 2015 include an optional integrated trailer brake for the 5.7-liter models, a new rear under-seat tray storage system for Double Cab trucks, and a spray-in bed-liner. Scroll down for the official press blast.
