1997 SAAB 900 S 2-Door Convertible FWD

I bought this car from my Aunt a couple years ago. It's been a great vehicle and mechanically in great shape

I bought a new truck a couple months ago and I don't need two vehicles and can't afford insurance for both cars.

Has power windows/doors & push button convertible top, but is very slow since the car is so old

Leather seats. The front seats have some wear and cracking due to the water, but rear seats are in great condition

SONY 6-Disc CD changer

Brand new brakes on it earlier this year ($560.00)

Has a spare tire and car jack equipment (which has never been used) in the trunk

Has some cosmetic wear, but nothing unusual for a high milage vehicle.

Brand new tires last year, and have about 10,000 miles on them. (I can find the paperwork and receipt if you like)...

Car is missing a piece that fell off last year. It's a small piece that's only visible when the top is down. I've tried to replace it but they don't make these parts anymore. I'm not sure what it's called, but I've included a picture of it. You only even notice it when top is down and doesn't affect the way the car runs in any way. (You can probably find a replacement part at a junkyard or somewhere online)... The driver's side front door handle broke off a couple months ago. I did get a replacement door handle for it I just don't have the time or the expertise to install it. I will include the replacement door handle with the vehicle purchase. Thanks

I also have a lot of the paperwork for the car for just about everything I have had done to it, including new tires, brakes, fan/timing belt, battery, oil changes, air filters, etc...

If you have ANY questions please feel free to ask me. Thank You

Saab begins 9-3 EV pilot production

Thu, 10 Apr 2014

To say that Saab has had a tough time lately would be like saying that it's been a little colder than usual this winter. After General Motors finally gave up and sold it to Spyker in 2010, Saab declared bankruptcy the following year. GM successfully blocked Spyker from selling Saab to Chinese automaker Youngman the following year, but ultimately it ended up in the hands of another Chinese consortium called NEVS. Standing as it does for National Electric Vehicle Sweden, the new owners promised not only to restart production of the long-suffering 9-3, but also to turn it into an electric vehicle. And that's just what it's doing.
The latest news coming out of Sweden indicates that NEVS/Saab has started building the first examples of the 9-3 EV. These first 200 or so examples are set to be shipped off to Qingdao - the Chinese city that is home to the Tsingtao brewery, hosted the sailing components of the 2008 summer games on Beijing, was supposed to host an IndyCar race in 2012 before it was canceled, and also itself just happens to own 22 percent of NEVS.
These first EVs have their batteries mounted down low in the chassis for a low center of gravity and have a range of about 20 miles on a full charge. That's absolutely paltry compared to the other EVs on the market: a Nissan Leaf will travel more than four times that distance, and a Tesla Model S will go ten times farther on a charge.

Saab's latest Chinese owners facing their own credit woes

Sat, 16 Aug 2014

Poor Saab, it can't seem to get a break. General Motors couldn't seem to make a go of it, neither could Spyker, and now it seems that its latest owner is encountering some problems of its own.
That owner, of course, is National Electric Vehicle Sweden, a Swedish holding company owned by Chinese investors. NEVS recently restarted production at the Saab plant in Trollhättan, Sweden, and had some ambitious plans for the brand's revival, but it appears to have run out of cash.
This according to a report in The Wall Street Journal, which discovered that NEVS is having trouble paying its suppliers. One such supplier, called Labo Test, has reportedly been owed some $22,000 by NEVS since February, and without payment, petitioned the Swedish government to place NEVS into bankruptcy proceedings. If that seems a little extreme to you over twenty-two grand, it would seem the parties agree, as the petition has reportedly since been withdrawn.

Saab's Victor Muller wanted to nix Griffin, return to airplane emblem

Tue, 09 Oct 2012

According to Just-Auto.com Victor Muller wasn't a fan of the Saab Griffin logo. The executive was quoted as saying he wanted to "abolish" the Griffin logo and return to the airplane emblem. Muller made it clear that if he'd had his way, the propeller would have replaced the Griffin across the Saab lineup long ago.
National Electric Vehicle Sweden, the company that recently bought Saab, was forced to abandon the Griffin logo due to the fact that the emblem is still used by truck manufacturer Scania. The manufacturer is reportedly concerned about potential Chinese counterfeiting - NEVS is owned by Youngman, a Chinese automaker - though it's unclear how that relationship would lead to illegal copies.
Either way, NEVS has said the loss of the Griffin logo isn't that important to the company so long as it can continue to build on the Saab name. Muller, meanwhile, said he wishes NEVS luck in the company's electric-vehicle endeavor, but that he doesn't understand its new business model.
