- Great entry into prestigious Porsche Ownership!
Rated among the 10 best cars of 2001, the Porsche Boxster was great step for Porsche in the ongoing development of one the greatest sports car legacies ever created. The Boxster was released ahead of its big brother, the 996 using the same bonnet, front wings, headlights, interior and engine architecture as the standard 996. Harm Lagaay's design, inspired by the 356 and 550 Spyder, stimulated a commercial turnaround for Porsche built around a well-balanced, mid-engine layout.
Here is a great two-owner example of a very reasonable entry into prestigious Porsche ownership. Luxuriously appointed with Silver Metallic Paint over Black leather upholstery, sport wheels, premium sound with CD changer, climate control, power operated convertible top and wing, all power cabin equipment and carbon fiber interior accents. The Porsche performs and shows well, with only minor wear from usage. The recently upholstered convertible top (with new glass), works as intended, while the car is mechanically up to date. Importantly, all original books, tools, spare and accessories accompany the Boxster along with an exceptional CarFax. A striking Porsche Spyder, at a very affordable price!

The 2014 Porsche Cayenne Turbo S brings 50 extra ponies to Detroit
Mon, 14 Jan 2013Porsche has announced a new version of its popular SUV today at the Detroit Auto Show: the 550-horsepower 2014 Cayenne Turbo S.
This newly minted "flagship" of the Cayenne lineup is powered by a twin-turbocharged 4.8-liter V8 engine, and offers 50 hp more than the Cayenne Turbo. Performance figures are impressive for the sleek utility vehicle: 0-60 miles per hour can be dashed off in 4.3 seconds, while maximum speed is rated at 175 mph. The Turbo S also gets dynamic chassis control, torque vectoring and Porsche's Sport Chrono package - all standard equipment.
Visually the Cayenne Turbo S differentiates itself from the lesser models in pretty subtle ways. Gloss black trim decorates the gawping front air intakes, as well as rear-view mirror trim panel. The SUV also wears 21-inch Turbo II wheels, a la the 911 Turbo.
Magnus Walker turbocharges his love for the Porsche 911
Thu, 31 Oct 2013He's had his fill of early, long-hood Porsche 911s - he owns at least one from each model year, from 1964 to 1973 - so Magnus Walker, a fanatic of the Stuttgart, Germany-based automaker, recently set his sights on the early Porsche 930, as documented by this XCAR video called 'Turbo Fever.' Let us translate: pretty soon Walker will own all of the earliest, non-intercooled 911 Turbos - at least one from each model year, starting at 1975 and ending at 1977 (though the 1975 911 Turbo Carrera never officially was imported to the US by Porsche, so it'll be tougher to find one Stateside).
Any Porsche enthusiast can tell you why they love their car, and it often comes down to the small details that differentiate one model year from another. One of many examples is the mid-'80s 928. They look similar, but the basic difference between a 1984 Porsche 928 S and a 1985 928 S (US-spec) is two camshafts and 54 horsepower, though each car's V8 has its own pros and cons. We'll let Magnus Walker tell you all about the 930 and what makes the first three years special, as he's becoming quite the expert on early, air-cooled 911s. When the nearly 15-minute mini-documentary was filmed, which you can view below, he already had added four early 930s to his collection!
Roger Rodas' widow suing Porsche over Carrera GT crash
Tue, 13 May 2014
Investigations undertaken by local law enforcement may have vindicated Porsche from any wrongdoing in the crash that killed actor Paul Walker and racing driver Roger Rodas last year, but the latter's widow is apparently not convinced. According to emerging reports, Kristine Rodas has filed a lawsuit seeking unspecified damages from Porsche Cars North America.
In her suit filed with the Los Angeles Superior Court, Rodas' attorney Mark Geragos reportedly disputes the findings of the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, which asserted that the vehicle was traveling at an unsafe speed of 90 miles per hour on city streets, identifying the speed as the cause of the accident. Instead the lawsuit claims that the vehicle was only going 55 mph and that the cause of the crash was improper equipment - namely a faulty right rear suspension and the lack of a crash cage and proper fuel tank.
