This is a 1992 Porsche 968 for sale. This is a beautiful car that has been semi-restored. I bought the car to rebuild over time with my son. He is now in College and have other priorities and can't work on the project anymore. The car is his daily driver right now and works perfectly.
The engine was rebuilt at around 235,000 miles along with a lot of small replacements and fixes. Tires were replaced at 235,000 miles and are at 70% thread. Almost all front suspension components where replaced also at 235,000 miles. Front bumper, hood, front-left fender and driver side door were all repainted at 249,000 miles. Original wheels without any curb marks. Original carpet in very good condition with only one small stain. Original rugs NOS from Porsche purchased in December 2013 as a Christmas gift. Many of the door seals have been replaced. Original steering wheel that still looks good. Soft leather on the steering wheel and no rips. Some scuffing from use on the top part of the wheel. Original dashboard with everything working. We replaced the heating and cooling unit and the buttons and acrylic is new. The dash board have some cracks around the vents and was the next to be restored. The car runs perfectly smooth. The engine is pulling very strong and the Tiptronic is working perfectly. We rebuilt the brake calipers replacing all the seals and pistons. The car have new brake pads also replaced at 235,000 miles. The brake hoses are new as is the master cylinder. Here is what was replaced on the car:
Variocam pads. Rings. All bearings. All bolts and gaskets. Some of the hoses. Spark plugs Fuel filter Air filter Oil filter Spark plug cables Distributor cap and rotor Spark plugs The valve guides have been replaced and the valves reseated by a professional shop.

Porsche offers detuned Boxster and Cayman 211 in Europe
Mon, 15 Sep 2014Looking at a new Porsche Boxster? First of all, we commend you on your choice, because in its latest iteration, the Boxster has sped out from under the shadow of the 911 and into its own. But now to choose: do you get the base model with 265 horsepower, the Boxster S with 315 hp, or the top-of-the-line Boxster GTS with 330 hp? It's a daunting question, considering the $10k+ price gap between each model that you could put into the gas-and-rubber jar. Same goes for the Cayman, albeit with ten more horses across the board. But as if that's not confusing enough, there appears to be another player on the field. (That is, at least, in certain European markets.)
Appearing on the company's Belgian and Norwegian sites are the Boxster 211 and Cayman 211. As you might have guessed, they pack a less substantial 211 horsepower, undercutting what we know as the base models. Instead of using a smaller engine, though, the Boxster and Cayman 211 get the same 2.7-liter boxer six, just with less power.
As a result, they're a bit slower off the line: the Boxster 211 takes between 6.1 and 6.4 seconds to get to 62, depending on exact specifications, compared to the 5.5- to 5.8-second range for the 265-hp Boxster, while the Cayman 211 is quoted at 6.2 seconds versus the 275-hp Cayman's 5.4 to 5.7 seconds. Fuel consumption and emissions, on the other hand (and as you'd expect), are better in the 211. But while Porsche Norway charges around $10k less for the 211 models, Porsche Belgium charges the same for the 211 models as it does for the next most powerful versions (from which they appear to be visually indistinguishable).
Seinfeld takes Seth Meyers out in the perfect Porsche
Sat, 13 Jul 2013The latest episode of Comedians In Cars Getting Coffee features Seth Meyers of Saturday Night Live fame riding shotgun in what is a very special Porsche from host Jerry Seinfeld's collection: a 1973 911 Carrera RS 2.7. Seinfeld chose the "no-nonsense" sports car because he thought it fit his guest's personality (Meyers thinks motorcycles "are like the cigarette of transportation"), but we enjoy the chance to see one of these rare, über-valuable Porsches being driven on city streets - and in the rain, no less! What we don't like seeing is the Carrera RS being parallel parked behind a pick-up truck, though, fortunately, it seems that Seinfeld was able to avoid any front-end damage to the comparatively fragile Porsche.
Once at the coffee shop, the two comedians have a candid conversation about Meyers' time with SNL, from his early days on the show when he didn't think he was good enough to be a cast member to some of the high points in his career, such as SNL's "Really!?" segment that he performed in and how he became a writer for the show.
After coffee, when they're back in the car and Seinfeld opens up the throttle of the lightweight RS 2.7, he manages to eke out a big grin from Meyers - or maybe it was a grimace at the thought of driving in the rain on old tires. Motor Trend hits Laguna Seca with Ferrari F12, Chevy Corvette, Porsche 911
Thu, 26 Sep 2013According to the crew at Motor Trend, we should think of the video below "as an addendum to Best Driver's Car," a test the magazine put together that elevated the 2013 Porsche 911 Carrera 4S above all others in the category of driving joy. It seems the brand-new 2014 Chevy Corvette Stingray wasn't able to take part in the magazine's official test, and neither was the Ferrari F12 Berlinetta.
And so Motor Trend did the only logical thing: It procured both the 'Vette and Prancing Horse as soon as it could, and put them both on track with the Driver's Car-winning 911. Of course, these cars don't actually compete against each other - the Ferrari offers up 731 horsepower and wears an asking price of $434,144 as tested, which means you could buy four loaded Corvettes for the price of one F12, and still have money left for a garage to store them in - but that's not the point of this particular test.
The point of this test isn't to listen to the beautiful sounds coming from the Porsche's flat-six-cylinder, the Corvette's pushrod V8 or the Ferrari's luscious V12, either, but the video below is worth watching for those three reasons alone. You know what to do.
