Really Nice Porsche 944! All original! No aftermarket paint or body work. No rust! An absolute pleasure to drive! The Odometer works! Auto Check Verified!

Exterior Condition- The guards red paint is in great condition for its year and mileage. The only imperfections are noticeable under close scrutiny and are as follows: Minor rock chips on front end and mirrors (see pics), one very small, shallow ding near the right side headlamp, and the fuel door has a large paint chip. The Auto Check report is clean. There are no indications of any flood, accident, or rust history of any kind!

Interior Condition- The interior is equally as clean showing only minor blemishes. The leather, seats, and carpets are in very good condition. The dash has the "normal cracks" and the drivers seat bolster stitching has come apart in a 3 inch section. All of the interior options perform as they should. The a/c has been retrofitted to r134a and the system is full, but the compressor is not getting power. I have not diagnosed it any further than that.

Engine and Transmission- The engine starts, runs, and idles beautifully. It does not smoke. The transmission shifts beautifully through all gears and the clutch feels normal. The trans mount should be replaced.

Tires- The tires are a match set and have approximately half tread depth remaining.

All of the books, records, and keys will be included.

I am an independent dealer that takes pride in my inventory, check my feedback and bid with confidence. If purchased within the State of Florida appropriate tax and title fees will apply. I will be happy to assist the winning bidder with discounted vehicle transportation or airport pickup.

Porsche testing new 911 GTS

Wed, 28 May 2014

Porsche may have one more vehicle in its stable with the GTS moniker, if these spy shots are any indication. They show off the presumed 911 GTS lapping the track - the model meant to slide in under the GT3 to be a bit more driver-friendly but still very fast alternative to a stock Carrera.
At first glance, it might look like any other 911, but the devil is in the details. The most obvious among the differences are two centrally mounted exhaust outlets, rather than the ones closer to the corners on most of the current models. They also aren't perfectly in the center like the GT3. The taillights are also somewhat thicker than the current ones, and the rear decklid is split into three exposed sections.
This is the third time we've seen the presumed GTS. The first was as a coupe late last year. Then it showed up again in March testing in convertible form. Although, that version also sported fender vents at the rear.

Porsche finally moving ahead with flat four engine

Sun, 23 Mar 2014

When Porsche released the first Boxster in 1996 and the first Cayman in 2005, the idea was to create an entry-level model for the German automaker's sports car range. The latest iterations of both closely related models, however, have begun to encroach dangerously on the 911's territory, particularly in their newest GTS specifications. That could be about to change, however, with the introduction of a four-cylinder engine for the compact mid-engined coupe and roadster.
According to Automotive News, Porsche is finally preparing to launch a new boxer four engine in the Boxster and Cayman, following years of speculation. The engine would be based on the same architecture as the company's famous flat six, but with two fewer cylinders to cut weight. Don't expect it to cut much in the way of performance, however: Porsche chief Matthias Muller indicates that the new engine could produce as much as 395 horsepower - significantly more than even the 340hp flat six in the Cayman GTS, suggesting that the engine could even find its way into the 911 as well.
It's no more clear which markets would get the four-cylinder engine, either. But wherever it is offered and in whichever form, it wouldn't be the first time we'd see a Porsche with a four-pot engine. Not by a long shot. Both the classic 912 and 356 were powered by boxer fours, as was the 914 - not to mention the 718 pictured above and the iconic 550 Spyder. The front-engined 924, 944 and 968 packed inline-four engines, but the last of those were discontinued in the 1990s. The prospect of a four-cylinder Boxster/Cayman has been rumored for many years now, most recently joined by the possibility of a four-pot Macan as well.

Modded budget Mazda Miata takes on new Porsche Boxster in more challenges

Tue, 23 Sep 2014

Earlier this month, our friends across the pond at Auto Express released the first in a two-video series that would see them try and build up a second-generation Mazda MX-5 Miata that could best a standard Porsche Boxster around the track. While that first video detailed the mods to the MX-5 - a supercharger, some suspension upgrades and a new set of super-sticky rubber being chief among them - and set baseline lap times for the stock car, today, we have the results of the 5,000-pound ($8,200) upgrade job.
Of course, we aren't going to spoil those for you. You'll need to watch the full video, which recaps the upgrades before digging into a comparison of both straight-line-speed differences between the 2.7-liter Porsche Boxster and blown Miata, as well as their behavior and lap times on the track.
Take a look and let us know what you think in Comments.
