1971 Porsche 914 - Survivor From California on 2040-cars
San Francisco, California, United States
You are looking at a true survivor 1971 Porsche 914 finished
in Lemon Yellow (L11E). This car is a two-owner California car that was sold
new at WESTER Porsche in Monterey California on Feb. 25th 1971. It spent
its entire life in Monterey California. The car was regularly serviced and is
in exceptional condition. It is clear that the car was carefully driven and stored,
and its cosmetic condition is consistent with a car that has covered 70000
miles. Dansk exhaust, AE wheels, new tires, new brakes, suspensions… The body is in perfect condition. There is absolutely no
rust anywhere on the car and it’s never been in any accident even minor. It had one high quality repaint in the exact
same factory color. All gaps are perfect. The interior is very impressive. Everything is 100% original and in perfect condition. (dashboard, carpeting,
seats, sun visors, steering wheel, door panels...) Original footstool still in place. Two sets of keys… Everything works as it
should. The engine compartment is equally impressive. It is all original and even retains the
original battery cover. The car was driven occasionally and received a regular
maintenance. The maintenance record book shows that all periodical and major services
have been performed on time. This is an exceptional opportunity to acquire a true
survivor Porsche 914 with complete provenance. All manuals, maintenance and
repair records back to the original bill of sale from WESTER Porsche in
Monterey California. |

Magnus Walker soliloquizes in his Porsche 911 at night
Fri, 23 Aug 2013Magnus Walker, a prolific Los Angeles clothing designer who has also carved out a respected spot for himself in Porsche world, has had yet another video made about him and his sizable Porsche collection. In this latest video, Hong Kong-based Obscura magazine focuses its video cameras on Walker and his 1971 Porsche 911 track car (yes, the one that appeared on Jay Leno's Garage) as he speeds around Downtown LA and Little Tokyo late at night.
We've heard Walker's story many times before. He's not like the average Porsche owner, perhaps a tad more passionate than most, and he builds 911s like he designs clothes: his way. Sure, we might be a little envious, but can you blame us? View this very slick and entertaining nighttime video entitled Disturbing The Peace below.
2015 Porsche Cayenne S
Tue, 23 Sep 2014Oh, Porsche.
Just as the dust settles over the 911 GT3's no manual gearbox kerfuffle, the Germans have gone and yanked the yummy naturally aspirated 4.8-liter V8 from the Cayenne S and replaced it with a twin-turbo 3.6-liter V6. Is nothing sacred in Porscheland?
Perhaps not... but that's not necessarily a bad thing. After all, Porsche famously once said they'd never build a diesel, but when they did, it was actually rather stellar.
Porsche gives Nick Murray exactly what he deserved [w/video]
Sat, 19 Apr 2014The tale of Nick Murray and his lemon Porsche 911 appears to have come to a satisfactory end. As noted in the original story about Murray, he and Porsche Cars North America met and came to a resolution. However, we didn't know exactly what that meant, until now.
Murray has created a new video explaining that PCNA offered to buy back the car at full price or give him an exact replacement for it. This was exactly what he was asking for. Murray remains pro-Porsche in the new video. "I am definitely considering reordering a Porsche 911," he says.
Porsche also posted a message on its Facebook page that clarified the situation. "We at Porsche have always sought excellence in all that we do. We know you expect it of us. And when we don't meet that standard, we make every effort to improve," said a portion of the note.
