'81 911sc! Very Solid Original Car. Only 82k Miles! No Reserve! on 2040-cars
Plainville, Connecticut, United States
1981 Porsche 911 SC
Just out of storage this very nice 1981 Euro spec 911 SC. This car has had the same elderly owner since 1988. As the pictures show it is very original. We all know these cars are getting hard to find especially an accident free 911 SC, with just 80,000 original miles and only two owners. I just took it for a 20 mile ride and it runs and drives excellent. The transmission shifts perfect as well. And for the best part…This auction is set with NO RESERVE! Highest bidder will own it. Look at my perfect feedback and bid with complete confidence. Please feel free to call me with any questions @ 860-883-8597 I will do my very best to answer them. Thank you and good luck! Vehicle Condition: I try to be very clear and honest so here goes! This car was re-painted in the late 80’s. Body could use a repaint. The car has its cosmetic flaws but is a very solid car. Underneath shows no signs of rust or accident damage. Please all I ask is be realistic. Car has scratches, and dings from normal use, a few small blisters in paint. This is not a brand new car, not a show car but a nice original car that could use some TLC but is perfectly drivable the way it is. Payment options: A $500.00 non-refundable deposit is due within 24 hours of the close of the auction. Balance to be paid within 7 days via certified funds. A $299.00 dealer conveyance fee is attached to the final price, this includes basic vehicle safety inspection, paperwork preparation and temporary plate if needed. Vehicle sold AS IS. NO WARRANTIES! I encouraged any buyer to feel free to inspect the car prior to bidding. We will be happy to assist in pickup at the airport or train station. We will also assist in arranging delivery at your expense. All we ask is you have the funds to back your bids. No excuses! No exceptions! |

Porsche gives Nick Murray exactly what he deserved [w/video]
Sat, 19 Apr 2014The tale of Nick Murray and his lemon Porsche 911 appears to have come to a satisfactory end. As noted in the original story about Murray, he and Porsche Cars North America met and came to a resolution. However, we didn't know exactly what that meant, until now.
Murray has created a new video explaining that PCNA offered to buy back the car at full price or give him an exact replacement for it. This was exactly what he was asking for. Murray remains pro-Porsche in the new video. "I am definitely considering reordering a Porsche 911," he says.
Porsche also posted a message on its Facebook page that clarified the situation. "We at Porsche have always sought excellence in all that we do. We know you expect it of us. And when we don't meet that standard, we make every effort to improve," said a portion of the note.
Magnus Walker turbocharges his love for the Porsche 911
Thu, 31 Oct 2013He's had his fill of early, long-hood Porsche 911s - he owns at least one from each model year, from 1964 to 1973 - so Magnus Walker, a fanatic of the Stuttgart, Germany-based automaker, recently set his sights on the early Porsche 930, as documented by this XCAR video called 'Turbo Fever.' Let us translate: pretty soon Walker will own all of the earliest, non-intercooled 911 Turbos - at least one from each model year, starting at 1975 and ending at 1977 (though the 1975 911 Turbo Carrera never officially was imported to the US by Porsche, so it'll be tougher to find one Stateside).
Any Porsche enthusiast can tell you why they love their car, and it often comes down to the small details that differentiate one model year from another. One of many examples is the mid-'80s 928. They look similar, but the basic difference between a 1984 Porsche 928 S and a 1985 928 S (US-spec) is two camshafts and 54 horsepower, though each car's V8 has its own pros and cons. We'll let Magnus Walker tell you all about the 930 and what makes the first three years special, as he's becoming quite the expert on early, air-cooled 911s. When the nearly 15-minute mini-documentary was filmed, which you can view below, he already had added four early 930s to his collection!
Porsche 356 Outlaw is the other Continental
Wed, 25 Jun 2014In Porsche parlance, 'outlaw' basically means 'hot rod,' and that definition can vary from person to person. For Jack Griffin and his 1955 Porsche 356 Continental, it means taking a great car to start with and reworking it to become a classic coupe that fits its driver perfectly. The latest video from Petrolicious highlights Griffin's 356 and all of the personalization he has in the beautiful ride.
Griffin acquired this 356 in 1994, but it came in rough shape. That made it the perfect canvas to transform the coupe into the Porsche of his dreams. On the outside, only things like the hood-mounted fuel filler, louvered decklid and Fuchs wheels give it away as something special, but underneath, it is modernized to be a faster, more robust car. Griffin considers it "a piece of art on wheels."
Hearing the Continental name associated with Griffin's Porsche might be throwing you, since it's normally more associated with Lincoln, but Griffin tells the whole story of what makes it so special on his '55 in the video. Scroll down to get an automotive history lesson and check out this fantastic 356 hot rod.
