1962 Porsche 356B Coupe with numbers-matching engine and blue California license plates, stored in a garage in San Lorenzo California for 33 years and not driven. The longterm owner had a engine problem on the Dumbarton bridge in 1980 and parked the car in his garage. He purchased new pistons and had the heads done but never completed the work. We purchased the car last month, and our Master Porsche tech Ray completed the rebuild. We fired the engine up and it sounds excellent. All other mechanical systems need to be checked, including the tank and fuel system. This car has not been driven anywhere in 33 years. The floor pans need replacing, as does the battery box. But the numbers match, and the engine work is completed. We are a California dealer: California buyers are subject to tax and license fees. Overseas buyers are welcome: we sell cars all over the world, and we work with a local East Bay shipper who offers competitive rates. We can deliver to San Francisco Bay area ports for free. Thanks for looking! Please email any questions and see a slideshow of 187 detailed (and downloadable) pictures below:

Porsche 911 RSR in bizarre, terrifying rally crash
Sun, 22 Sep 2013As far as rally crashes go, this one is pretty terrifying. At this month's Hellendoorn Rally, Harry Kleinjan failed to negotiate a turn and drove his Porsche 911 RSR straight into a Jersey barrier, flipping the car into the river.
While it's unclear what caused the accident, German Car Scene notes, "We can see his brakes locking up ahead of the impact, which also ripped both driver's side wheels off, so it may be a case of ill-judged late braking, locking brakes or a jammed throttle." Us? We're betting it might have been bad pace notes. Fortunately for Harry and his co-driver, all indications are that no one was hurt. Check out the videos below to see the spectacular crash for yourself.
Robb Report chooses Porsche 911 as its Car of the Year
Thu, 21 Feb 2013Robb Report has picked the seventh-generation Porsche 911 Carrera S as its 2013 Car of the Year, saying the two-door captivated its judges with "agility, driving dynamics and balance." The German coupe bested 12 others who were also in the running - the impressive list of nominees included the BMW M5, Audi S8, Ferrari FF, Mercedes-Benz SL63 AMG and the Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport Vitesse.
Judging involved more than just throwing darts at pictures on the wall, as the publication enlisted a panel of automotive experts to test drive each vehicle for close evaluation. The panelists included 100 members of the Robb Report Club (comprised of top corporate executives and influential readers), Editor-in-Chief Brett Anderson and automotive consultant Robert Ross. Full results of the competition will be revealed in the luxury magazine's March issue, hitting newsstands in about a week. For more information, visit Robb Report online or check out the full press release from Porsche below.
Overnight action from the 24 Hours of Le Mans
Sun, 23 Jun 2013We won't go into a recap here, but there are still leading positions being fought for in all classes - it's so close that leads are changing when a car goes into the pits. We'll let the recap wait until the end of the race, so for now enjoy some shots from last night's action at the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
