RARE - 1976 Pontiac Trans AM 50th Anniversary LE Numbers Matching PHS T-TOPS.  A total of 2,400 limited edition Trans Am's were produced.  That makes this car 1 of 533 made with Hurst hatch T-tops with the 400 automatic.  It is believed that only 24 of these cars had black chrome tailpipe splitters which this car had when found and will go with the car.  Tailpipe splitters are pictured.

This car was found stored in a basement in 2011 by the previous owner. The car had been stored since 1991. The car was found 100% completely original. The car still retained its original 1976 dated tires when found. In 2012 the car was striped to bare metal and was found to be 100% rust free and had no body damage. The car received a professional paint job and complete decal kit from Phoenix Graphics.  The motor was disassembled to replace all gaskets and seals and then assembled and painted in the correct strato blue one year only engine paint.  Hoses, vacuum lines and belts were replaced.   Interior is completely original with the exception of the headliner.  It still retains its original GM floor mats.  All glass is original.  The car still has the original factory trunk mat, Hurst hatch T-top bag, space saver tire and jack.  The Honeycomb wheels are original.  The exhaust has been replaced and the tailpipe splitters have been painted black chrome like the originals.  Everything electrical in the car works like gauges, lights, original AM FM radio, cigarette lighter, door buzzer.  The only thing not working is the clock.  This car was rust proofed by Endrust when new.

Car comes with a ton of paperwork including build sheet, window sticker, dealer deliver slip, Endrust certificate, PHS documentation, warranty information of Hurst Hatch T-Tops, tires and the car itself.  Also, includes a cruise control instruction card.

Car runs and drives excellent as you would expect a car with 28,000 miles to run.

Please contact David at 615-406-9110 with any questions about the car.

The car is for sale locally and I reserve the right to sell vehicle at any time during auction thus canceling all bids and ending auction.

500.00 non refundable deposit is required at end of auction.

GM recalling over 40,000 Chevy, Pontiac and Saturn models over fuel pump woes

Mon, 01 Oct 2012

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has issued a recall for a number of General Motors cars and crossovers bought or currently registered in the hot-climate states of Arkansas, Arizona, California, Nevada, Oklahoma and Texas. As many as 40,859 units consisting of the 2007 Chevrolet Equinox, Pontiac Torrent and Saturn Ion and the 2007-2009 Chevrolet Cobalt (shown) and its Pontiac G5 twin are being recalled for potential fuel leaks.
This recall is being issued due to potentially faulty fuel pump components that can crack and cause gasoline to leak from the return or supply ports and possibly cause a fire. NHTSA has not indicated how many fuel leaks or vehicle fires have been reported. As a fix, GM will replace the fuel pump modules on all affected vehicles free of charge. Since Pontiac and Saturn have been shuttered, owners will be able to go to another GM-brand dealership to have their vehicles repaired.
While the list of affected cars and crossovers varies by state and model year, if you own any of these models and live in Arizona, California, Florida, Nevada, Oklahoma or Texas, be sure to check the official notice below for more details.

GM recalling 426,000 sedans over faulty transmission shift cable

Fri, 21 Sep 2012

General Motors is recalling some 426,240 sedans that may have a faulty transmission shift cable, according to a National Highway Traffic Safety Administration report this morning. The recall concerns a fault within four-speed automatic transmissions equipped on 2007-2010 Saturn Aura models, and 2008-2010 Chevrolet Malibu and Pontiac G6 models.
The report specifies that tabs on the transmission shift cable may fracture and separate. Such a fault could cause a discrepancy between the actual position of the transmission and the apparent position of the shift lever.
GM is currently working to notify owners of the vehicles in question, and dealers will check and replace shift cables free of charge. Scroll down to read the complete NHTSA report.

GM doing fine at retaining Pontiac owners

Fri, 28 Oct 2011

This isn't the first time we've reported positive news about General Motors retaining former Pontiac owners. Get a few more stories like this latest report from Edmund's Auto Observer, and it will mark an ongoing positive trend for GM. Edmunds.com crunched the numbers to see how well the General is hanging on to customers after shutting out the lights at Pontiac, and it found that nearly 40 percent of Pontiac owners stayed with a vehicle from a General Motors brand.
The numbers are a little lower than an earlier R.L. Polk & Company study, but Edmunds says General Motors is keeping more former Pontiac buyers than it has since 2007. Most are turning to vehicles from Chevrolet, especially during January and February of 2011, when GM incentivized Pontiac owners to stay under the umbrella. Those moves seem to have worked, and 28.1 percent of Pontiac owners trading up made the jump into a Bowtie.
Buyers that have gone elsewhere have largely stayed loyal to Domestic automakers, with Ford picking up the most conquests from Pontiac, with 9.4 percent switching. Toyota and Honda picked up 7.4 percent of the pool of former Pontiac drivers. The numbers are defying any predictions that Pontiac buyers would completely exit the General Motors fold, and have climbed up closer to parity with the retention figures of other GM brands from a 2009 low of only 16 percent retention.
