76 Pontiac Trans Am, 4 Speed, 400, Survivor on 2040-cars

Year:1976 Mileage:67667
Location:

You're viewing a 76 T/A survivor with 400, 4spd., PS, tilt wheel and the "cool in it's time" RTS (radial tuned suspension).  The original 68K miles seem to be right on.  Car sat for a few years and I've stored it under cover during my ownership.  Repainted original silver and I can't find any sign of plastic filler.  Seats recovered in burgundy cloth.  Door panels and dash need some work.  No radio.  Engine was probably out since it has been painted.  Engine numbers do not match the last numbers of the VIN but I believe it's a '75 casting.  Runs strong and shifts well.  Carb has been replaced but I have original.  Original wheels but needs tires.  Converted to Dual exhaust.  Vehicle is a good base for a restoration.  I'm not into restoring but it's too good to "modify."  Someone can enjoy a possible restoration of one of the premium collectable cars of the later 70's.

Please ask any questions before bidding and I will do my best to answer.  Vehicle is sold as is with no warranty, expressed, written or implied.  Buyer's responsibility to determine and be satisfied with condition and bid accordingly.  Buyer responsible for any shipping arrangements; seller will cooporate as requested.

A non-refundable deposit of $500 is due at the end of the auction with balance being due within 7 days.  And please contact within 24 hours to make payment arrangements.  Thank you for looking and happy bidding!  Brian

GM recalling 426,000 sedans over faulty transmission shift cable

Fri, 21 Sep 2012

General Motors is recalling some 426,240 sedans that may have a faulty transmission shift cable, according to a National Highway Traffic Safety Administration report this morning. The recall concerns a fault within four-speed automatic transmissions equipped on 2007-2010 Saturn Aura models, and 2008-2010 Chevrolet Malibu and Pontiac G6 models.
The report specifies that tabs on the transmission shift cable may fracture and separate. Such a fault could cause a discrepancy between the actual position of the transmission and the apparent position of the shift lever.
GM is currently working to notify owners of the vehicles in question, and dealers will check and replace shift cables free of charge. Scroll down to read the complete NHTSA report.

Automakers tussle over owners of 'orphan' makes

Thu, 10 May 2012

When General Motors put down several of its brands in recent years, it also let loose thousands of brand-loyal customers who will eventually need another car.
R.L. Polk Associates estimates there are more than 18 million cars from 16 discontinued makes on the road today. Those "orphan owners" have sales-hungry competitors seeing dollar signs. GM is offering Saturn owners $1,000 cash toward a Chevy Cruze, Cadillac CTS or a GMC Acadia. Ford is giving its Mercury lease customers a chance to get out of their contracts with no early-termination penalty and offering to waive six remaining payments if they drive off in a Ford or Lincoln.
Edmunds.com research shows the efforts are paying off somewhat for GM, with 39 percent of Pontiac owners, 37 percent of Hummer owners and 31 percent of Saturn owners taking delivery of another GM-branded vehicle. But that leaves as much as 69 percent of owners going elsewhere. Ford, Honda and Toyota seem to be attracting many former GM owners.

Check out the official 2013 Trans Am Hurst Edition commercial

Sat, 16 Mar 2013

The Poncho is dead. Long live the Poncho. Like certain other reoccurring personal maladies, the aftermarket community simply can't let the Trans Am go without another flare up. The guys at Trans Am Depot have worked up a quick commercial for their newest creation: The 2013 Trans Am Hurst Edition, and it watches pretty much like you'd expect it to. The footage is comprised of just about every TA male fantasy you can conceive of, from Daisy Dukes and white tank tops to tramp stamps, bikinis and ice cream cones. There simply aren't words for what you'll see below.
Of course, we like our T-Tops as much as the next guy. If you like what you see in the videos, you can pick up your very own TA by heading over to the Trans Am Depot site. The guys even have Chevrolet Camaro-based versions of the Pontiac GTO if the '77 TA treatment is too much for your tastes. Enjoy, but don't say we didn't warn you.
