Hi There,
Up for sale is a 1988 Pontiac Trans Am GTA 350 TPI. Its going to need some TLC. I originally purchased it in 2010 with the expectation of fixing it up and putting some bolt on performance parts to find out what it takes to lower the 1/4 mile time, however, after 1 trip to the track, the transmission started slipping. At that point, I lost my desire to fix it up and it's been sitting in my driveway ever since. I haven't even put on 1000 miles since owning it. The reserve price is set at $2400.  Buyer will be responsible for all shipping costs.

Good Car Features
4 wheel disc brakes
3:45 Posi Rear
350 Tuned Port Injection
K&N performance Intake
Full Digital Dash
Brand New aftermarket 160 Amp Alternator
New November PA inspection
New Battery
Sirius Satelite Radio Ready

Bad Car Features
Transmission slips- Not too bad, it only slips if you get on it. Under normal driving conditions, it shifts fine and shifts into all its gears. Depending on your purpose of purchasing the car, the transmission doesn't have to be replaced right away. If you plan to just tool it around on Sunday's, the tranny will last another 10 years. If you plan on racing it, laying wheels, tailwhipping around corners, you'll need a tranny by the end of the month.
Right Driver Door. The right driver door is not aligned. I purchased it that way. I think the car was in an accident, but it was a trade in and the dealership claimed they didn't know much about the car.
Power Antenna- The power Antenna doesn't work, not sure why
Interior trim- The radio trim, power window button trim and center console glove box are cracked, but everything works.
Valve Cover leaks- Pretty typical for these cars and an easy fix.

Lutz says GM was working on 5th-gen Pontiac GTO

Thu, 08 Aug 2013

Bob Lutz was one of the forces behind bringing the Holden Monaro to the United States, as the ill-fated Pontiac GTO in 2004. And while that car received critical acclaim, it was a sales disappointment. Now, Road & Track is reporting that our suspicions were correct - Pontiac was working on a two-door, G8-based coupe before it was shuttered.
In that R&T article, which is no longer available online, Lutz explained that the new GTO would solve many of the issues found in the original. Car Advice speculates that the new model would have look like a rebadged version of the Holden Coupe 60 Concept from 2008, a conclusion we also came to.
That car would have been a big departure from the 2004 to 2006 GTO. It has an extremely long hood and short rear deck, with an almost fastback roofline and a wide greenhouse with a tall beltline. The wheel arches were very pronounced, and the chin and rocker panel splitters gave it a race-ready look. Would it have been enough to make the GTO work in the US? We think it might of, but it looks like we'll never know.

Check out the official 2013 Trans Am Hurst Edition commercial

Sat, 16 Mar 2013

The Poncho is dead. Long live the Poncho. Like certain other reoccurring personal maladies, the aftermarket community simply can't let the Trans Am go without another flare up. The guys at Trans Am Depot have worked up a quick commercial for their newest creation: The 2013 Trans Am Hurst Edition, and it watches pretty much like you'd expect it to. The footage is comprised of just about every TA male fantasy you can conceive of, from Daisy Dukes and white tank tops to tramp stamps, bikinis and ice cream cones. There simply aren't words for what you'll see below.
Of course, we like our T-Tops as much as the next guy. If you like what you see in the videos, you can pick up your very own TA by heading over to the Trans Am Depot site. The guys even have Chevrolet Camaro-based versions of the Pontiac GTO if the '77 TA treatment is too much for your tastes. Enjoy, but don't say we didn't warn you.

STUDY: Ford owns brand loyalty in 2009; Scorned Saturn, Pontiac buyers will look outside of GM

Fri, 16 Oct 2009

Ford buyers appear to love their cars more than customers of any other automotive brand, returning back to the American automaker when it comes time to purchase their next vehicle. According to a study by Experian Automotive, six of the top 10 vehicles for customer brand loyalty wear badges from the Blue Oval. That includes the Ford Fusion (62.4 percent), Ford Edge (57.9 percent), Ford Five Hundred/Taurus (56 percent), Ford Freestyle (51.9 percent), Ford Escape (49.4 percent) and the Ford Focus (47.57 percent).
Other vehicles making up the top 10 include the Toyota Prius (52 percent), Chevy Impala (51.7 percent), Toyota Camry (47.8 percent) and Toyota Corolla (47.56 percent). This brings up an interesting question: With the closing of automotive brands like Saturn and Pontiac, where are those buyers to turn for their next automotive purchase?
Apparently, not back to General Motors. According to Experian, Pontiac owners are most likely to look to the Ford lineup for their next car or truck and Saturn shoppers will switch to Toyota or Honda - not particularly surprising given that Saturn was meant to compete with import brands. Experian predicts that GM's overall market share will fall from 20 percent to about 17.5 percent, with most of the slack being picked up by Ford, Honda and Toyota.
