1999 Pontiac Trans am Firehawk , slp # 0535 , 126k miles , 6 speed manual , air conditioning , Monsoon stereo, ls1 v8 motor , T-tops , Pewter paint with tan leather interior , nice car.....1 of only 719 Made that year...

Runs and drives great ....
Motor is a the legendary ls1 v8 , its has ls6 intake , ls6 injectors , Slp ram air , slp lid , Bbk long tube ceramic headers into BBk stainless mid pipe and slp loudmouth muffler....Very nice sounding and running motor..
Transmission is the t56 6 speed , really good transmission , has puck style clutch , Factory Hurst shifter...Shifts great...
Rear end is a 3;42 posi from the factory
Suspension has tubular rear control arms and an adjustable pan hard bar
Chrome corvette wheels with good goodyear rubber on them , 18" rear , 17" front
Brakes all ready to go , suspension is tight ....
Body is pewter color and not many Firehawks made in this color with these options...Has a couple minor scratches from use but no Major damage or anything funny , rear bumper has a couple scratches also...Otherwise looks great...The ram air hood is different from the ws6 and different from the regular birds , it has the ram air with heat extractors on it , very nice setup that came from slp...
Interior is tan leather w/ t-tops , No the tops do not leak... The leather seats are nice , drivers bolster is a little worn from getting in and out but nothing major and still looks nice...Interior is veru respectable , no funny smells or stains etc , looks good ..Minor crack on top of door panels, where all trans ams and firebirds crack i guess, looked it up , its true...doors open and shut perfect...
No rust on this car , its a nice car, Not perfect but not beat up either its a really nice car....
Only major thing it really needs is an o2 sensor welded into the new exhaust or a tune to tune it out because alot of people just tune them out but it has a cel on because of it..The new exhaust did not come with the provision for the 02 bung so its a really easy fix....That's the only thing really wrong wit this car...
It is a very fun summer car that gets well over 20mpg...Kind of hard to beat that , the factory window sticker said it gets 28mpg highway and 19 city , that's amazing when you think and feel the performance of this car...By the way , this car is fast , its like having a corvette with a backseat...

I have the original window sticker form the dealership , also the original window sticker from SLP , all the slp door badges are still in place also....Besides the window stickers i have a good size stack of receipts...
always ran mobil 1 oil , and changed all fluids and filters on time...

Car is sold as-is ,No warranty expressed or implied, inspections are welcome...I have been Honest about the car but small things may have gotten by me , nothing major I assure you,Obviously if there is something very wrong with the description i will not hold you liable ...
any questions you can call or text me for quickest reply...

GM recalling over 40,000 Chevy, Pontiac and Saturn models over fuel pump woes

Mon, 01 Oct 2012

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has issued a recall for a number of General Motors cars and crossovers bought or currently registered in the hot-climate states of Arkansas, Arizona, California, Nevada, Oklahoma and Texas. As many as 40,859 units consisting of the 2007 Chevrolet Equinox, Pontiac Torrent and Saturn Ion and the 2007-2009 Chevrolet Cobalt (shown) and its Pontiac G5 twin are being recalled for potential fuel leaks.
This recall is being issued due to potentially faulty fuel pump components that can crack and cause gasoline to leak from the return or supply ports and possibly cause a fire. NHTSA has not indicated how many fuel leaks or vehicle fires have been reported. As a fix, GM will replace the fuel pump modules on all affected vehicles free of charge. Since Pontiac and Saturn have been shuttered, owners will be able to go to another GM-brand dealership to have their vehicles repaired.
While the list of affected cars and crossovers varies by state and model year, if you own any of these models and live in Arizona, California, Florida, Nevada, Oklahoma or Texas, be sure to check the official notice below for more details.

'67 Chevy Corvair convertible vs. '86 Pontiac Fiero in cult classic showdown

Fri, 22 Aug 2014

Every few a decades, the folks running General Motors lose their minds briefly try to market a car that public doesn't see coming and often aren't ready for. In the '60s there was the rear-engine, air-cooled Chevrolet Corvair, then the mid-engine Pontiac Fiero in the '80s and the completely bizarre Chevy SSR in the 2000s. What all of these had in common was that they bucked the trend for American models of their era, for better or worse. The latest episode of Generation Gap tasked the hosts with finding two cult classic vehicles to choose between; they came come up with two of these quirky products from The General.
On the classic side, there's a 1967 Chevy Corvair Monza convertible. Being from later in the production run, it wears slightly more aerodynamic styling than the earlier, boxier examples. Hanging out back is an air-cooled, 2.7-liter flat-six pumping out a robust 95 horsepower. In the other corner is the somewhat more modern 1986 Pontiac Fiero SE with a mid-mounted, 2.5-liter "Iron Duke" four-cylinder, an engine nearly ubiquitous in GM cars of the '80s.
Judging by when they were new, the Corvair was far more successful than the Fiero with over 1.8 million sold. Of course, Ralph Nader's book Unsafe at Any Speed kind of poisoned the well, even if the poor safety reputation wasn't entirely deserved. The Fiero on the other hand only lasted for a few model years before shuffling off, but it eventually got its own performance boost with the V6 version and rather attractive GT models. Check them both out in the video and tell us in Comments which you want in your garage.

1939 Pontiac Ghost Car commands $308,000 at auction

Mon, 01 Aug 2011

For the 1939 World's Fair, Pontiac built a Deluxe Six bodied in Plexiglass. Part of the Previews of Progress pavilion in which General Motors' Futurama showed off what was to come in the world of autos, the 'invisible' Pontiac is credited as the first transparent car in America. And there were no shortcuts taken with its body: the Plexiglass form was fabricated by the company that brought the material to market in 1933, Rohm & Haas.
The see-through sedan was sold at RM Auctions' St. John's auction in Michigan on July 30, fetching $308,000. Not bad appreciation for a domestic oddity that cost $25,000 to build when new. You can check out the high-res gallery of its innards, including copper and chrome metalwork and white moldings and wheels, and get the exhaustive details on it after the jump.
