1969 Firebird Trans Am Ram Air Iii Replica on 2040-cars

Year:1969 Mileage:57000
Location:

1969 Trans Am Replica
- Professional Frame-on restoration / Paint / Trans Am replica build in 2013.  Incredibly laser straight body,,,,,,sides, hood, trunk, roof, engine and compartment etc.  As good on bottom as top. No rust
- Fully functional Ram Air III replica complete w/ tubes, hood, hood pan, carb pan, etc....
- Metal Trans Am Ram Air hood (correct).
- 57,000 actual documented miles, listed on title / Title Search (miliage will me slightly higher as I still drive sometimes and test drives)
- Approximately 3000 miles on rebuilt 400 engine.  Mild cam, head work, 1967 factory performance manifold, 4 BBL Quadrajet.  Runs fantastic, no leaks / probs. Full  Functional Ram Air IIIset-up, THM 400 transmission
- Also have PHS documentation including a copy of window sticker so you can see what it was "born" with in 1969.  Great conversation piece and I have lots of pictures of before and after in a nice binder that goes w/ the car.
-- Pictures as it was stock prior to restoration and during TA transformation / restoration.
-- It was in very good condition even before TA transformation/restoration. Now it is a true quality driver, muscle car, cruise night head turner and show car.
- Finished to high quality
- New chasis bushings, coil springs, multi-leafs, shocks, ball joints, body mounts, and other items. Car drive very well and straight. ----If you want it to sit a bit lower I have the old coil springs.  But the new ones are yet to settle in totally and will settle about 1 - 2 inches lower.  II recommend to stay with new ones but old ones will come with the car if you want them.
- Fresh 5 figure professional paint job done to exacting standards from copies of original factory paint documentation instructions.  Polar White / Tyrol Blue. Paint done with doors, engine, front clip, trunk off. Professional job.
- Took some liberties on the interior to a "semi" Resto-mod loook interior theme with touches of billet, top notch Scat Procar Series 100o Buckets and rear seat, new carpet and a B&M Ratchet Shifter
- Car turns heads everywhere you go and has functional and corect Ram Air III intake as opposed to a cheap round chrome air cleaner.  You would be proud to open the hood on this car.  Not to mention opening the doors, trunk and underside----all is also completed to the same high standard.  No embarrassment at any show or cruise in. :)  Lots of fun
- New tires, Front Discs, PB, PS. Original AM Radio works. CD/AM/FM mounted under dash w/new speakers in rear. A pleasure to drive,  Extremely clean inside, outside, underside, engine/compartment.  Truly is a beautiful car.
Here are some bullets to explain more :
- Upgraded deluxe interior with a white and black "tuxedo look" theme.
- AM/FM CD player mounted under dash w/ new Pioneer 6 x 9s in the rear
--- Factory Stuff:
----- AM Radio (still works)
----- Decor group 324
----- Custom trim 554,
----- Power steering, variable 501
----- Deluxe Interior package
- Pontiac Rally II wheels, white letter tires
- The car is very respectable from any angle. Great quality driver/cruiser/show car.
- Turn key car!
- It runs and drives fantastic with power to spare.
- A lot of money spent on restoration / Trans Am replication.
- Hard to tell the original from this replica except 1 fewer digit in the price!
- The heater lever that turns cold to heat just broke but there is a manual valve installed and works fine, the fan squeaks a bit.
- Thank you for looking
- My reserve is surprisingly low......my loss your gain
- call me at 850-603-1888 if you have questions.  Kevin

Had a a few question on some items:

----The stripes are NOT decals. They are painted on and the car has several coats of clear over the base and was wet sanded and buffed till the paint looks almost wet.  If you run your fingers across the stripes you almost cannot even feel them.  Many ,many man-hours were spent on getting stripes correct and straight.  Along with that, a ton of hours were spent on the wet sand and final buffing.

---Interior is factory Deluxe with some added on different color pieces to look better.  The seats are new Scat Procar Series 1000 and as you see in the pics they look great in the car. The rest of the interior is factory and recovered where needed.  Instead of putting on some original white color pieces, several black pieces were installed instead and this theme was carried throughout the interior in a tasteful way but not over done. Very unique, classy and  comfortable for cruising.  Very expensive seats but they are the best. Look um up on the web.  Interior looks beautiful and has received many compliments on that alone.

Shoot me any other questions you have.

In 2 of the pictures you see the Pontiac Emblem on front grill and not on the others. This was just a last minute add-on but it's the same car. Also, this is a true Ram Air III set-up and not just the hood w/ a simple round air cleaner like some other so called "replicas". Big difference here.

Lutz dishes dirt on GM in latest Autoline Detroit

Mon, 20 Jun 2011

Bob Lutz sits down for Autoline Detroit - Click above to watch video after the jump
Autoline Detroit recently played host to Bob Lutz, and, as is always the case, the former General Motors vice chairman dished out some great commentary. Lutz was promoting his new book Car Guys vs. Bean Counters: The Battle for the Soul of American Business, and talk quickly turned to his role as it related to product development and high-level decision making at GM. While on the topic of brand management, Lutz revealed a few rather interesting tidbits about his former employer:
All Chevrolet vehicles were required to have five-spoke aluminum wheels and a chrome band up front, as part of the Bowtie brand's overall image.

1939 Pontiac Ghost Car commands $308,000 at auction

Mon, 01 Aug 2011

For the 1939 World's Fair, Pontiac built a Deluxe Six bodied in Plexiglass. Part of the Previews of Progress pavilion in which General Motors' Futurama showed off what was to come in the world of autos, the 'invisible' Pontiac is credited as the first transparent car in America. And there were no shortcuts taken with its body: the Plexiglass form was fabricated by the company that brought the material to market in 1933, Rohm & Haas.
The see-through sedan was sold at RM Auctions' St. John's auction in Michigan on July 30, fetching $308,000. Not bad appreciation for a domestic oddity that cost $25,000 to build when new. You can check out the high-res gallery of its innards, including copper and chrome metalwork and white moldings and wheels, and get the exhaustive details on it after the jump.

GM recalls 61k more vehicles in three campaigns

Sun, 05 Oct 2014

Following a stop-delivery order for its new midsize trucks and a rash of recent recalls, General Motors is issuing three more campaigns covering 60,575 vehicles in North America with 57,182 of them in the US. As of October 1, the automaker has issued a total of 74 recalls (see the ridiculously long chart to the right) this year covering 26,495,070 units in the US.
The largest campaign covers 46,873 examples in the US of the 2008-2009 Pontiac G8 and 2011-2013 Chevrolet Caprice Police Patrol Vehicle imported from Australia. It's possible for the driver's knee to hit the key and make it move from the "Run" to "ACC" position while driving. GM says its Holden division is developing a fixed-blade key that's supposed to fix the problem by only allowing it to rotate toward the "On" position. There has been one crash caused by this fault but no injuries or fatalities.
The second recall is for 10,005 units of the 2004-2007 Cadillac CTS-V and 2006-2007 Cadillac STS-V because "the fuel pump module electrical terminal may overheat." This can cause a flange to melt and allow the pump to leak fuel. GM specifies that the remedy for the CTS-V is replacing the fuel module and fuel tank jumper harness, but it doesn't specify how the STS-V is being repaired.
