1979 Pontiac Trans Am #'s Matching 403 Automatic on 2040-cars
Rome, New York, United States
I am selling my 1979 Trans Am 6.6 litre only due to the fact my other muscle car is now complete & I do not have storage space for both. This vehicle is complete, currently fully insured & registered & I have been driving it and having a great time. When I purchased car I had an experienced Pontiac guy with me & entire vehicle checked very carefully! Frame is in great shape, floor pans solid and not repaired, frame are behind back bumper in great condition, integrity of this solid piece is not a question. I spent time this winter having a few things done to make this car better such as new GM sill plates, outer door handles, new console bin liner & top, new transmission hump cover dyed and installed, new headlight adjusters, new lug nuts, Vintage 70's pontiac splash guards installed, new floor mats, re dyed console & put in new console map pocket, new inner door handle escheursons, new package tray installed, seats adjusted for better alignment, restoration of original wheel and center section, trunk spatter painted & cleared. Brand new door & trunk Goodmark weatherstripping as well. This car runs very nice & is a very snappy 403 that will break them loose very easy! I put on vintage Eagle st's 235/60/15 front & 275/60/15 rear for that real muscle car era look. This is a fully finctional car, headlights, highbeams, signals, brake lights, cool air & heater(non a/c car), tachometer, speedometer, oil pressure, water temp, dome light, all instrumentation lights, wipers, & even the clock work perfect! This car drives nice & can really be enjoyed without breaking your bank. Vehicle has power steering, automatic transmission & 4 wheel disc brakes. Originally Sunfire Yellow , painted black back many years ago(15) and still looks great... has some scratches of course & imperfections but a great driver! Unbelievable all the thumbs up & compliments this car gets & talk about drawing a crowd, it is a celebrity wherever it goes. I am not a dealer just an enthusiast that ahs been enjoying these cars for a long time and now its time to let it go to a new home. This is not a trailer queen or a show car, its a great driver with all the looks and performance you want. Any questions feel free to give me a call at 315 225-1600. I encourage inspections and will tell you that when you place bids it is to own the car. Once car sells it is not inspection time! If you win the bidding you own the vehicle so check with your wife, make sure you have the ability to pay because this is for real and i'm too old to play nonsense games.
I have no problem ending auction early if we come to agreement & a deposit is made via paypal or certified funds.

GM recalling 426,000 sedans over faulty transmission shift cable
Fri, 21 Sep 2012General Motors is recalling some 426,240 sedans that may have a faulty transmission shift cable, according to a National Highway Traffic Safety Administration report this morning. The recall concerns a fault within four-speed automatic transmissions equipped on 2007-2010 Saturn Aura models, and 2008-2010 Chevrolet Malibu and Pontiac G6 models.
The report specifies that tabs on the transmission shift cable may fracture and separate. Such a fault could cause a discrepancy between the actual position of the transmission and the apparent position of the shift lever.
GM is currently working to notify owners of the vehicles in question, and dealers will check and replace shift cables free of charge. Scroll down to read the complete NHTSA report.
This 1927 Oakland is a minimalist hot rod
Fri, 21 Feb 2014There are hundreds of American automakers that sprung up during the dawn of the automotive era, only to fold into obscurity or get gobbled up by what would eventually become the Big Four (yes, we're counting AMC here). Oakland is one such company, which was the forbearer for General Motors' Pontiac division. Sold until 1931, you simply don't see Oakland-badged cars anymore. Unless, that is, you know Brian Bent.
Bent drives a 1927 Oakland that still rides on wooden wheels. Its original wooden wheels, from the sound of it. That makes this anachronist and his Oakland the perfect subject for a Petrolicious video. Like many of the cars highlighted by Petrolicious, this old Oakland has had some work done to it, featuring a Pontiac flathead engine that's been pushed forward and a clutch pack built by Bent.
Take a look below for a closer look at this rare and fascinating Oakland.
1969 Pontiac GTO Judge vs. 2006 GTO, which Goat gets your vote?
Mon, 08 Sep 2014The Pontiac GTO was perhaps the most iconic muscle car of the '60s and early '70s. With its beefy V8 and color palette screaming for attention, it summarized in a single vehicle everything that made the era so appealing to many young people. Pontiac tried to collect just a few drops of that aura again in the 2000s with a revived GTO, but with decidedly mixed results. The performance was still there with its big V8, but the looks never quite lived up to the powertrain. Now, Generation Gap wants to know which of these Goats is the one to own.
Things are skewed immediately because the 2006 GTO here is a real ringer. It comes from famous tuner Ken Lingenfelter's collection, and it's a one-off example partially fettled by GM Performance boasting a twin-turbocharged LS2 V8 with a claimed 750 horsepower and a wide-body kit. This Goat definitely isn't what you're going to find just browsing for one to buy in the newspaper. Still, dip the throttle just a little, and this GTO pulls like a freight train. It's enough to turn the two hosts into giggling schoolboys behind the wheel.
The '69 GTO Judge here is also out of Lingenfelter's collection, but this one is all stock with a 400-cubic-inch (6.6-liter) V8 and a Ram Air hood for a claimed 366 hp. It might not have the unbelievable power of the turbo '06, but it makes up for it with style to spare.
