Highly optioned 1977 Trans Am for sale. This car sold new in Overland Park, Kansas; I have the Build Sheet and the Pontiac Historical Documents proving its authenticiy. I purchased from the Kansas owners several years ago and shipped to Georgia. It is currently titled in Georgia in my name. The best way to describe this Trans Am is "the car that your local Pontiac dealer would call his favorite customer and say I have a low mileage, excellent condition, just as good as new that you need to buy." It is a 1977; the year of the Bandit and the year to own.
Guys seem to always want to talk about the engine or the performance of the car before anything else; I am no diffferent. This Trans Am came with the L78 engine option; the 200 horsepower Pontiac engine; best availabe in 1977. It is also equipped with the 3.23 posi-tration rear axle. Of course, the Trans Am came with the large diameter front and rear sway bars. There is a photo of the Build Sheet that shows all the options the car came with; I have also comfirmed that the engine block is original to the car and is stamped with the code Y6 and has the car's VIN is stamped on the block as well. I did do one upgrade; I changed the exhaust manifolds from stock to the Ram Air units that were availabe in the late 60's and completed the exhaust system with Dynoflow mufflers and new exhaust splitters. The BF Goodrichs TA's (245-60-15) are new and have very few miles. The exceleration and the handling will please the owner; fun to drive.
As stated earlier, this Trans Am is highly optioned. It is a striking color combintion of Cameo white exterior and Firethorn Red interior. I had the car repainted about 3-4years ago and completed with new Phoenix graphics decals. The interior is the Deluxe version in Firethorn Red. There are no cracks and no problems; I had the front seats recovered because of fading; but, they actually would do just fine in most cars. The car came with Air Condition and Cruise Control; both still work. The air condition is nice on hot days or just when my wife does not want the wind to blow her hair. The guages all work; the previous owner installed a newer radio system in the glove compartment, but the orignal is still in the dash. The electric windows still function. The interior pictures show just how nice the inside is today.
The pictures and the documentation speak for themselves; this is a super nice car. If you have any questions or would like to see the car, please call me Randy 770/634-3093. But remember to do this before the bid end; you are bidding to own; not to come inspect after the bid end.

David Hasselhoff's own KITT replica up for auction
Tue, 08 Apr 2014Depending on when and where you grew up, the name David Hasselhoff likely conjures up images of Knight Rider, Baywatch, pop singer, or possibly a washed-up TV actor, but one thing that can never be taken away from The Hoff is his connection to one of the greatest automotive icons in pop culture. The Knight Industries Two Thousand, usually shortened to simply KITT, was the real star of Knight Rider for many fans. Based on a Pontiac Firebird Trans Am, the car combined snarky quips for comedy relief and stunts to provide much of the show's actions. Now, Julien's Auctions is selling Hasselhoff's own replica as part of a larger sale of the actor's personal memorabilia collection.
This recreation is based on a 1986 Firebird and comes with all of the tech on the inside that now seems hilariously outdated, like the yoke steering wheel and plethora of buttons. The interior also thoughtfully includes a voice box with over 4,000 sound clips from the show. With a 5.0-liter V8 and an automatic transmission, performance is likely adequate and period correct. According to the listing, this car was created by fans and given to the Hoff. Sadly, the replica doesn't convert to Super Pursuit Mode like KITT could in later seasons, and we most associate KITT with conventional front-hinged doors to go with the power t-tops and ejector seats.
Bidding currently sits $27,500 with eight bids, since starting at $15,000. Julien's predicts it will sell for between $30,000 and $50,000. If there is some nostalgia for KITT in your heart, there is still plenty of time to bid.
eBay Find of the Day: 1967 Pontiac GTO Monkeemobile
Sun, 29 Apr 2012Say what you will about The Monkees, but the guys in the band had great taste in automobiles. Take the Monkeemobile, for example. Built off a 1967 Pontiac GTO Convertible, the custom featured genuinely interesting bodywork and some wild engine bolt-ons. If you're a fan of 1960s pop and yearn to relive the genre's glory days, eBay Motors may have what you need. A recreation of the 1967 Monkeemobile has showed up for auction. This particular replica was built by Dakota County Customs using an four-speed GTO, just like the original.
Built for the band's 45th anniversary and the final Monkees tour last year, this Monkeemobile is faithful down to every last detail. Unfortunately, the trumpet exhaust poking out of the front fender wells and the massive gold-flake blower are for show only. Seems fitting.
If you like what you see, this machine is up for bid in Richfield, Minnesota with two days left on the auctions. So far, bidding as whipped up to $60,000 with the reserve not met. Head over to eBay Motors to have a look.
How to turn a Pontiac Fiero into a trackday car
Fri, 17 Oct 2014Imagine hitting the track in a mid-engine, rear-wheel drive sports coupe that's affordable and has pretty good parts availability. It might sound like a pipe dream, but it's actually quite possible, if you're willing to think a little outside the box. The Pontiac Fiero is out there just waiting for a little work to turn it into a competent racing machine.
Think about it for a second. Of course, we would all like to be snaking through the curves in something exotic, but what happens when you crash or something breaks? The bills are going to mount up quickly. However, if you ball up a Fiero at the track, as long as you're not hurt, then it's not a huge tragedy.
That's basically the story of Steven Snyder in a new video from Drive starring Matt Farah. Snyder wanted to go to the track cheaply and ended up with an awesome little Fiero with a huge wing and a claimed 220 horsepower at the wheels thanks to a V6 from a Chevrolet Lumina. Check out the video to see how this pint-size Pontiac performs.
