Listing is for my Stunning 1976 Trans Am 455 4 speed car. Car just got done with a 7 month exterior restoration which included, media blasting, car was completely stripped bare, any rust areas were PROPERLY fixed. This car started its life at Premier Pontiac in Tulsa,Ok. I have all receipts with cars history,Pontiac PHS documents, and even original dealer invoice. This is a well equipped car with tilt, power windows,AC,and even rear defrost. I just picked car up yesterday, and installed a Brand New Phoenix Graphics decal kit back onto its brand new Base/Clearcoat (3 coats) Dupont paint, the car runs cool, and drives tight. The tires and wheels are also Brand New with 275 rears and 245's front (Rallye Wheels Available). Now with the exterior done, there are a few things needed to make this a show winner,as the body is A-1 with NO BONDO! The things needed,i believe the power brake booster is leaking a little,it needs a new rubber kit for the doors, the one I bought was to thick, doors wouldn't shut properly. Needs a piece of headliner trim around t-top on drivers side (should just do new headliner. Its missing a couple pieces on the vents, and I would replace the swirled dash bezel. Carpet is good, seats are good, has aftermarket (nicer) matching front seats, rears are in very good shape. I have bezels for the headlights, they are pitted so I didn't put on. I WILL PROBABLY HAVE New Bezels, and Rubber kit installed this week. Underside of car is very good, trunk is Like New,has a aftermarket Kenwood deck, with trunk mount CD changer and Amp,has new air shocks on rear. I would say with a $1000-$1500 in minor odds and ends, this would be a show winner. I don't know if the A/C works,as the blower is not working,i will also have that looked at,and taken care of if possible, all the A/C parts are properly hooked up. As far as numbers matching,i do believe so. Clutch is good, drives very straight even at 70 mph,but like any 37 year old car,if I was to keep,i would go thru it a little. THERE IS NOTHING LIKE A BIG BLOCK TORQUE! Awesome. This is a very straight, original 455 4 speed car, fully documented, properly stripped and painted,CAR WAS PAINTED IN PIECES/NO TAPE LINES! I have for sale locally and have the right to end when I choose, questions or offers call 269-876-2853 (best method). I tried to describe the best I can, want to ad,the drivers door panel is a little rough, passenger not bad, again, just a few SMALL details,i did the expensive part as I just invested over 10k in a resto. Thanks for looking. PLEASE DON"T BID IF YOU DON'T PLAN TO PAY!!

GM recalling 426,000 sedans over faulty transmission shift cable

Fri, 21 Sep 2012

General Motors is recalling some 426,240 sedans that may have a faulty transmission shift cable, according to a National Highway Traffic Safety Administration report this morning. The recall concerns a fault within four-speed automatic transmissions equipped on 2007-2010 Saturn Aura models, and 2008-2010 Chevrolet Malibu and Pontiac G6 models.
The report specifies that tabs on the transmission shift cable may fracture and separate. Such a fault could cause a discrepancy between the actual position of the transmission and the apparent position of the shift lever.
GM is currently working to notify owners of the vehicles in question, and dealers will check and replace shift cables free of charge. Scroll down to read the complete NHTSA report.

Lutz dishes dirt on GM in latest Autoline Detroit

Bob Lutz sits down for Autoline Detroit - Click above to watch video after the jump
Autoline Detroit recently played host to Bob Lutz, and, as is always the case, the former General Motors vice chairman dished out some great commentary. Lutz was promoting his new book Car Guys vs. Bean Counters: The Battle for the Soul of American Business, and talk quickly turned to his role as it related to product development and high-level decision making at GM. While on the topic of brand management, Lutz revealed a few rather interesting tidbits about his former employer:
All Chevrolet vehicles were required to have five-spoke aluminum wheels and a chrome band up front, as part of the Bowtie brand's overall image.

General Lee takes on Bandit T/A in classic Hollywood car showdown [w/poll]

Fri, 26 Aug 2011

You don't have to be born in the 1960s or 1970s to be able to recognize the General Lee from The Dukes of Hazzard and the Pontiac Trans Am from Smokey and the Bandit. These old school four-wheeled stars seem to transcend demographics thanks to the miles of film that show the orange 1969 Dodge Charger and the jet-black 1977 Pontiac Trans Am performing seemingly impossible stunts.
The folks at Hot Rod magazine are obviously hip to this fact, and they put together a fun video in tribute of the instantly recognizable duo. Hit the jump to watch on as Sam Young and James Smith replace Bo Duke and The Bandit for a bit of dirt-road shenanigans in a pair of otherwise well cared for classics. We're not so sure we'd call it the best chase scene ever, but it sure looks like a lot of fun.
More importantly, which of these two cars would you rather own? Have your say in our poll below.
