I am listing my 1976 Pontiac Trans Am and is for Sale locally as well. I have had this car for 15 years and had purchased from the second owner who had it since 1977.  The second owner purchased from a dealer who received the Trans Am on a trade in from the original buyer and has had since.  I have many receipts for the upkeep and replacement of the interior items such as carpet, headliner, stereo and speakers, seats being upholstered to OEM styling, wheels, tires.  The car does have PHS documentation which has proven this is a TRUE Trans Am and I do have also a "partial" build sheet and have pieced it together and it is 90% as the picture will show.  This car runs and drives great and handles super too.  It gets a lot of attention when ever I drive it.  Since buying from the Second owner in April of 1998 I have only logged 3,100 thousand miles over the last 15 years and has always been stored inside under a car cover.

This is a Clean car and shows it.  Always passes California smog every time since purchase.  I also have many, many receipts that will go with the car along with 2 Superweave car covers that cost $300/each.

If you want a really nice unmolested Trans Am that has PHS documentation, Numbers matching, Partial Build sheet to match car and authenticate it's origin and selling California dealer this car is a nice car.  If the car is sells I only hope that it goes to someone who can appreciate the car for what it is and as much as I have over the years.  The car is believed to be original paint and is an original in many ways.  The trunk and floor pans are ROCK SOLID as this car is and always has been a California car and has been extemely well taken care of.

History - Sold to Dan Day Pontiac in Northern California, original buyer traded car in 1 year approximately later to another dealer, second owner purchased from the Dealer who took this in on trade and owned from 1977 until 1998.  I then purchased "Sight unseen" from this second owner and drove it from Merced California to Costa Mesa California and have pampered this car since then for the last 15 years.  I have all receipts that I have put into the car.  This is a nice car and is a "true" Trans Am.  Don't be fooled by others that claim to be.

Please know that this car is for sale locally and hope it goes to a good home.  I am only selling this beautiful car as I have had it and others I am selling for long enough.  I no longer have the time to enjoy them for what they are and know they really need to go to someone that can appreciate them for as much as I have for as long as I have.

How to turn a Pontiac Fiero into a trackday car

Fri, 17 Oct 2014

Imagine hitting the track in a mid-engine, rear-wheel drive sports coupe that's affordable and has pretty good parts availability. It might sound like a pipe dream, but it's actually quite possible, if you're willing to think a little outside the box. The Pontiac Fiero is out there just waiting for a little work to turn it into a competent racing machine.
Think about it for a second. Of course, we would all like to be snaking through the curves in something exotic, but what happens when you crash or something breaks? The bills are going to mount up quickly. However, if you ball up a Fiero at the track, as long as you're not hurt, then it's not a huge tragedy.
That's basically the story of Steven Snyder in a new video from Drive starring Matt Farah. Snyder wanted to go to the track cheaply and ended up with an awesome little Fiero with a huge wing and a claimed 220 horsepower at the wheels thanks to a V6 from a Chevrolet Lumina. Check out the video to see how this pint-size Pontiac performs.

Rumormill: DeLorean Motor Company considering rescuing Pontiac Solstice?

DeLorean Motor Company Pontiac Solstice renderings - Click above for high-res image gallery
General Motors has made a science out of sharing platforms. So when the company's Kappa platform was introduced for a new rear-drive roadster to be distributed across three different motor divisions, you'd have figured the program was pretty safe, right? Unfortunately for the workers at the Wilmington Assembly Plant which manufactured the Kappa roadsters, those three divisions were Pontiac, Saturn and Opel - three units which the General has either sold or shut down. Which is a shame, because a perfectly good rear-drive roadster platform is a heck of a thing to waste.
In one of the strangest rumors we've heard recently, however, our compatriots over at Jalopnik report that the DeLorean Motor Company (yes, that DeLorean Motor Company) is considering buying the plant and the platform from GM and putting it back into production as a new DMC.

eBay Find of the Day: 1967 Pontiac GTO Monkeemobile

Sun, 29 Apr 2012

Say what you will about The Monkees, but the guys in the band had great taste in automobiles. Take the Monkeemobile, for example. Built off a 1967 Pontiac GTO Convertible, the custom featured genuinely interesting bodywork and some wild engine bolt-ons. If you're a fan of 1960s pop and yearn to relive the genre's glory days, eBay Motors may have what you need. A recreation of the 1967 Monkeemobile has showed up for auction. This particular replica was built by Dakota County Customs using an four-speed GTO, just like the original.
Built for the band's 45th anniversary and the final Monkees tour last year, this Monkeemobile is faithful down to every last detail. Unfortunately, the trumpet exhaust poking out of the front fender wells and the massive gold-flake blower are for show only. Seems fitting.
If you like what you see, this machine is up for bid in Richfield, Minnesota with two days left on the auctions. So far, bidding as whipped up to $60,000 with the reserve not met. Head over to eBay Motors to have a look.
