Matching # GTO, engine, transmission, differential and sheet metal is original to the car with build sheet, protecto-plate,invoice copy and a rare dealers Pontiac GTO 33 lp from sales department. The original owner purchased this vehicle in Oklahoma and now lives in New Mexico. From the paper work this car has spent 30 years right here in dry Albuquerque, New Mexico.Cold factory a/c, rally wheels, convertible and 400 big block 330 HP engine round out the options.Of course disc brakes power steering, front and rear torsion bars were just a few of the packaged GOAT goodies. NADA classics books this car over $50 k @ a twenty footer or average condition car. This is an easy 5 footer even with a few typical paint cracks on the Endura front bumper. Engine was rebuilt 29,000 miles ago by the 2nd owner. Original color was gold and also repainted by him too in the 80"s. I had the paint freshened up with Cardinal red and added Pearl to it 7 years ago. Fuel gauge and Convertible top switch needs replacing, will still lower and raise but has worn contacts. Heads were changed to a lower compression for local pump gas also by the second owner. You can cruise around at 18 mpg.I have the numbered matching heads that were rebuilt and ready to install, just never had the chance to put them back on. Transmission was rebuilt 7 years ago along with a new top with glass rear and new windshield.I have made a few car shows in and around the state with thumbs up from young and old.

New air conditioning compressor 2 years ago and blows cold air. New brake boost and master cylinder 3 years ago. Still has the original points installed 29 k miles ago.I have missed plenty and still gathering invoices on the work done over the last 7 years.Time for some one else to enjoy one of the last true muscle cars built. This is one original GTO you don"t want to miss. I will add pictures of the build sheet, tags etc. as needed so email for any additional information.
The pictures do no justice.

A clear New Mexico title will convey upon payment in full that has cleared my bank, no exceptions. No private checks. No expressed or implied warranty of any kind. $2000.00 deposit in my Paypal account @ close of auction within 48 hours. Balance due in 7 days. All shipping costs are the buyers sole responsibility. Sci-fi movie Jinn features car designer, Firebird-bodied Camaro

Tue, 08 Apr 2014

If you're an automotive engineer being tormented by an immortal being made of fire, then wouldn't you think it best to have a custom coupe called the FireBreather for your getaway car? That's the FireBreather in the image above, adorned by the red wings that once fronted the Pontiac Firebird, running away from a black cloud of evil in a trailer for the movie Jinn.
The Jinn is eternal evil, always waiting for the chance to make things float across rooms before going on homicidal urban rampages. The FireBreather is a Gen-V Chevrolet Camaro - from the V6 to the ZL1 - that's been through Classic Design Concepts' extensive list of exterior and interior modifications, including entirely new front and rear fascias and side skirts, sway bars and springs, Pirelli P Zeroes and an available Edelbrock supercharger.
The movie - FireBreathing chase scenes and all - was shot in Monroe, Michigan. You can watch the trailer below, but since the FireBreather only get a couple of seconds on screen, you can find out more about it on Street Legal TV and its official site.

General Lee takes on Bandit T/A in classic Hollywood car showdown [w/poll]

Fri, 26 Aug 2011

You don't have to be born in the 1960s or 1970s to be able to recognize the General Lee from The Dukes of Hazzard and the Pontiac Trans Am from Smokey and the Bandit. These old school four-wheeled stars seem to transcend demographics thanks to the miles of film that show the orange 1969 Dodge Charger and the jet-black 1977 Pontiac Trans Am performing seemingly impossible stunts.
The folks at Hot Rod magazine are obviously hip to this fact, and they put together a fun video in tribute of the instantly recognizable duo. Hit the jump to watch on as Sam Young and James Smith replace Bo Duke and The Bandit for a bit of dirt-road shenanigans in a pair of otherwise well cared for classics. We're not so sure we'd call it the best chase scene ever, but it sure looks like a lot of fun.
More importantly, which of these two cars would you rather own? Have your say in our poll below.

Watch this garbage truck consume a Pontiac Grand Am

Wed, 15 May 2013

When an old car or truck offers its dying breath in your driveway and you just don't have the financial or mechanical wherewithal to resuscitate it yet again, you traditionally have to go to the trouble of calling a flatbed or a tow truck to come haul it away. That usually helps to put a few bucks in your wallet and helps recycle some of the vehicle's parts, but the transaction doesn't seem as final or perversely satisfying as the dispatch service that this New Way Cobra Magnum garbage truck offers.
Okay, okay, so this refuse hauler isn't actually designed for this sort of thing, but it's oddly comforting to know that a sanitation truck can compact a hapless Pontiac Grand Am into oblivion. Next time, we won't feel so guilty about slipping that rusty charcoal grille onto the curb next to the cans on garbage day. Watch the carnage by scrolling below.
