2006 GTO 6.0L WARRANTY, ELECTRIC CUT OUTS

Don't miss out on your chance to own the last year production of the GTO.  This car has the standard A/C, heat, 6 disc cd changer, T/C, steering wheel controls, cruise controls, power leather seats, power locks, etc.  This car is all factory except for the window tint and the exhaust. The windows have been tinted 35 and a custom cut out around the rear brake light has been installed.  This is one of the few cars that give you the option of manually controlling your exhaust.  At the flip of a switch you can go from the factory, quiet noise, to running straight headers, to returning back to the silent cruising.  The DUAL DMH electric cut outs have a lifetime warranty and were installed 3 months ago.  This car has been garage kept with a non smoker owner.  The flaws of this vehicle are: scratch on the bumper, front bumper holes filled in from taking the front license plate off, driver visor broken, 1 wheel has been scratched, the front right tire will sometimes rub when the steering wheel is turned all the way to the right, like most GTOS the rear seats have 2 tear marks on the top/rear parts of the seat.  This vehicle runs as strong as it would off the lot.  There are absolutely no flaws with the motor.  If the winning bidder wishes to have the warranty transferred , they will need to make arrangements with me prior to pick up of the vehicle.  The cost of the warranty will be an additional amount , and the warranty has two years left or up to 75,000 miles (motor & electronics warranty).  The car is located in Mooresville, NC.  If there are any questions or concerns feel free to contact me on here or call/text 704-794-8392.  I am willing to take any pictures or send videos of any aspect of the car.

GM recalling 778,000 Cobalts and G5s, six deaths reported

Thu, 13 Feb 2014

General Motors has announced that it will be recalling 778,562 compact cars after six people were killed in accidents, partially due to the airbags' failure to deploy. An issue with the ignition switch is causing the airbag issues, as well as causing the engine and other components to shut off without warning. The recall covers the 2005 to 2007 model year Chevrolet Cobalt and 2007 Pontiac G5. (Note that the Cobalt pictured above is a 2009 model.)
According to a report from Automotive News, a number of factors can cause the ignition to switch out of the run position, including weights on the key ring, rough or bumpy roads or other "jarring" events. Any of these situations could lead to some vehicle components not functioning properly.
There have been five fatal front-impact crashes that took the lives of six people, although as a GM spokesman noted, all five of the crashes happened off road and at high speed. In each of these cases, though, the lack of airbags wasn't the only lethal factor - alcohol and failure to wear a seat belt also played a role. Outside of the fatal accidents, there have been 17 other crashes where airbags didn't deploy. It's unclear if any of these crashes were caused by the engine shutting off.

Watch as Hot Rod goes from El Paso to LA the hard way

Tue, 21 Feb 2012

There are few things simultaneously more romantic and idiotic than taking a road trip in a beaten-down heap of a car. Trust us. We know. David Freiburger and Mike Finnegan of Hot Rod Magazine fame recently undertook an epic trip from El Paso, Texas to Los Angeles with the express goal of doing so for under $1,500, including the purchase price of a vehicle, food, lodging, repairs and, most importantly, fuel. With this in mind, the duo settled on a 1972 Pontiac Catalina for a lofty $650. Hilarity ensues.
Realizing that no one actually wants a Catalina sulking around the shop, Freiburger and Finnegan put the car up for auction on eBay Motors the instant they had the title in hand. By the time they rolled into Hot Rod HQ, the vehicle sold for a little over $500.
The video is part of a new series called Roadkill that should document similar adventures. Keep your eyes peeled for more calamity-soaked clips in the near future. In the meantime, hit the jump to check it out yourself.

1939 Pontiac Ghost Car commands $308,000 at auction

Mon, 01 Aug 2011

For the 1939 World's Fair, Pontiac built a Deluxe Six bodied in Plexiglass. Part of the Previews of Progress pavilion in which General Motors' Futurama showed off what was to come in the world of autos, the 'invisible' Pontiac is credited as the first transparent car in America. And there were no shortcuts taken with its body: the Plexiglass form was fabricated by the company that brought the material to market in 1933, Rohm & Haas.
The see-through sedan was sold at RM Auctions' St. John's auction in Michigan on July 30, fetching $308,000. Not bad appreciation for a domestic oddity that cost $25,000 to build when new. You can check out the high-res gallery of its innards, including copper and chrome metalwork and white moldings and wheels, and get the exhaustive details on it after the jump.
