This is a project car from an original owner.
Here is the history, an "old-timer" who was the original owner started restoring this car 10 years ago, he rebuilt the turbo charger and then decided to put in a pontiac 400 motor and 400 transmission, well make a long story short the years caught up with him and the car won the time.... I have all the original parts and the 400 motor is included with the 400 transmission which he never finished putting in. The story is that his turbo failed, he had it rebuilt (all the original parts and turbo are included),,,, then he decided to pimp his ride with a 400 (6.6l) motor and turbo 400 transmission. WHY WHO KNOWS. He started the clear the engine bay to pull the original motor and then ran out of steam and kicked the bucket. I have the CALIFORNA title in my name. WHAT IS GREAT ABOUT THIS CAR IS THAT IT IS ALL ORIGINAL! California car. NO rust, just the paint is shot because of the sun. NO body work NO hidden repairs, GREAT PROJECT CAR! How to turn a Pontiac Fiero into a trackday car
Fri, 17 Oct 2014Imagine hitting the track in a mid-engine, rear-wheel drive sports coupe that's affordable and has pretty good parts availability. It might sound like a pipe dream, but it's actually quite possible, if you're willing to think a little outside the box. The Pontiac Fiero is out there just waiting for a little work to turn it into a competent racing machine.
Think about it for a second. Of course, we would all like to be snaking through the curves in something exotic, but what happens when you crash or something breaks? The bills are going to mount up quickly. However, if you ball up a Fiero at the track, as long as you're not hurt, then it's not a huge tragedy.
That's basically the story of Steven Snyder in a new video from Drive starring Matt Farah. Snyder wanted to go to the track cheaply and ended up with an awesome little Fiero with a huge wing and a claimed 220 horsepower at the wheels thanks to a V6 from a Chevrolet Lumina. eBay Find of the Day: 1967 Pontiac GTO Monkeemobile
Sun, 29 Apr 2012Say what you will about The Monkees, but the guys in the band had great taste in automobiles. Take the Monkeemobile, for example. Built off a 1967 Pontiac GTO Convertible, the custom featured genuinely interesting bodywork and some wild engine bolt-ons. If you're a fan of 1960s pop and yearn to relive the genre's glory days, eBay Motors may have what you need. A recreation of the 1967 Monkeemobile has showed up for auction. This particular replica was built by Dakota County Customs using an four-speed GTO, just like the original.
Built for the band's 45th anniversary and the final Monkees tour last year, this Monkeemobile is faithful down to every last detail. Unfortunately, the trumpet exhaust poking out of the front fender wells and the massive gold-flake blower are for show only. Seems fitting.

Lutz says Washington killed Pontiac, next G6 was to be ATS derivative
Tue, 29 Oct 2013How many people think Buick or GMC should have gotten the axe instead of Pontiac? You can't see it, but I'm raising my hand. Autoweek reports that former Vice Chairman of GM, Bob Lutz, has indicated that things didn't have to end up the way they did.
"The Feds said, 'Yeah, how much money have you made on Pontiac in the last 10 years?' and the answer was, 'Nothing.'"
In a talk given at the Petersen Automotive Museum for the Inside the MotoMan Studio series, Lutz says "The Feds said, 'Yeah, how much money have you made on Pontiac in the last 10 years?' and the answer was, 'Nothing.' So, it goes. And when the guy who is handing you the check for $53 billion says, 'I don't want Pontiac, drop Pontiac or you don't get the money,' it doesn't take you very long to make up your mind." Lutz even added that the next-generation Pontiac G6 would have benefitted from the rear-wheel-drive platform of the Cadillac ATS. How awesome would that have been?
