Very nice 2002 Pontiac Firebird convertible with every option you could get on the V6 model. Extra options including Leather seats, traction control, Y87 performance package. The Y87 package included a performance dual exhaust and ground effects from GM. This Firebird is all stock from the dealer when bought new, nothing aftermarket has been added. 2002 Firebird V6 convertible is a very rare car and only 1 of 1,498 produced. This car also qualifies for Classic Insurance with any insurance company, so that's a huge savings a year on insurance on this vehicle. Everything works and looks good on this Firebird,  but the convertible top canvas  needs to be replaced. Normal paint wear for an 11 year old car. I'm the 2nd owner of this car and the CarFax report is perfect. Serious buys feel free to come by and look at this awesome Firebird in person.

A lot of work has been done to this car in the last 6 months including,

New driver side window motor.

New passenger side headlight motor

New fuel pump

New fuel filter

New rear set of Decarbon Shocks

Coolant flush

Oil and filter change

Transmission service(new oil/filter)

All parts are GM and ordered strait from the dealer. I have parts receipts and work orders to prove.

The only thing left to replace is the convertible top canvas and window. The window is separating from the canvas top and water is able to drip inside. Car has been garage kept since I've owned it and has only been driven when it isn't raining.

Very rare car to own.

Production Numbers  for the 2002 V6:

V6 Convertible 1,498 units (2.1% of production)

401 had NW9 Traction Control

2,056 had Y87 Performance package (24.4%)

1,268 had 41T black conv. top

Kelly Blue Book price is $11,815. Get this Firebird for only $8,000!

Howard Stern latest in Seinfeld's passenger seat for CiCGC

Thu, 06 Feb 2014

We'll be honest: the actual cars in Jerry Seinfeld's hit internet series, Comedians In Cars Getting Coffee, typically take a back seat to the celebrities in the front row. Seinfeld usually throws in a few lines about his classic wheels in the first minute or so, and then moves on to the important business of sprightly conversation and pithy one-liners. It's great.
This time around, with legendary motormouth Howard Stern riding shotgun, the 1969 Pontiac GTO Judge that might have been a co-star, gets forgotten about almost completely. Instead, Stern spends a tremendous amount of screen time extolling the virtues of his therapy sessions, attempts to dive into Seinfeld's prowess as a lover and generally makes a nuisance of himself. Pretty much to plan, then.
Scroll below to hear Howard accuse Jerry of acting like Jesus, just before declaring himself the greatest radio personality in the history of the business.

Tony Stewart to star in Smoke Is The Bandit web series

Mon, 10 Mar 2014

NASCAR driver Tony Stewart is making good use of his nickname Smoke in new videos inspired by the 1970s classic Smokey and the Bandit. The original is one of the quintessential automotive movies of its era with a fantastic combination of slapstick comedy and great car stunts in a Pontiac Firebird Trans Am. If you've never seen it, check it out immediately.
In the new six-part Smoke IS the Bandit web series, Stewart takes on the role of Burt Reynolds' famous character complete with huge mustache. But instead of trying to smuggle cases of Coors beer it's Mobil 1 oil. The series promises to recreate many of the famous scenes from the movie and includes cameos from other NASCAR drivers.
To complete the look, future videos just need a quality replacement for a young Sally Field to ride shotgun. It would also be really cool if Reynolds could make a brief appearance at some point. Scroll down to check out the trailer and the first episode in the series.

1939 Pontiac Ghost Car commands $308,000 at auction

Mon, 01 Aug 2011

For the 1939 World's Fair, Pontiac built a Deluxe Six bodied in Plexiglass. Part of the Previews of Progress pavilion in which General Motors' Futurama showed off what was to come in the world of autos, the 'invisible' Pontiac is credited as the first transparent car in America. And there were no shortcuts taken with its body: the Plexiglass form was fabricated by the company that brought the material to market in 1933, Rohm & Haas.
The see-through sedan was sold at RM Auctions' St. John's auction in Michigan on July 30, fetching $308,000. Not bad appreciation for a domestic oddity that cost $25,000 to build when new. You can check out the high-res gallery of its innards, including copper and chrome metalwork and white moldings and wheels, and get the exhaustive details on it after the jump.
