My body man told me there has been a lot of hours put into it and told me the paint on this car if he was to do it would be 15k. The cars was built and shown NEVER been down the track it had over 50 trophies won, There was no expense spared when this car was put together. The guy we bought it from didn't know a lot a bout the car but by going through the receipts over $38,000.00 was spent on the drive train of this car. We do know it is a 28lsx Motor Brand New, it has a Custom Lunati Cam ARP Head Bolts, Aluminum Heads 102 CFM injectors, MSD Coil Packs, four link Suspension with a ford 9' rear end, 3' exhaust over $1800.00 in receipts for exhaust alone. We found over $18,000.00 in engine Receipts and $4800.00 in Transmission receipts (turbo 400 reverse valve body) The car runs and drive frikkin amazing I am not sure of the horse power but my guess it is close to 850 HP. A flip of the switch this car fires right up and idles GREAT 0 issues. It does have NOS which has never been hooked up but is plumed for it just hook it up and hold on! The Knight Industries Two Thousand, usually shortened to simply KITT, was the real star of Knight Rider for many fans. Based on a Pontiac Firebird Trans Am, the car combined snarky quips for comedy relief and stunts to provide much of the show's actions. Now, Julien's Auctions is selling Hasselhoff's own replica as part of a larger sale of the actor's personal memorabilia collection.
This recreation is based on a 1986 Firebird and comes with all of the tech on the inside that now seems hilariously outdated, like the yoke steering wheel and plethora of buttons. The interior also thoughtfully includes a voice box with over 4,000 sound clips from the show. With a 5.0-liter V8 and an automatic transmission, performance is likely adequate and period correct. According to the listing, this car was created by fans and given to the Hoff. Sadly, the replica doesn't convert to Super Pursuit Mode like KITT could in later seasons, and we most associate KITT with conventional front-hinged doors to go with the power t-tops and ejector seats.
Bidding currently sits $27,500 with eight bids, since starting at $15,000. Julien's predicts it will sell for between $30,000 and $50,000. If there is some nostalgia for KITT in your heart, there is still plenty of time to bid.

Pontiac Firebird in latest Generation Gap scrap
Tue, 30 Sep 2014Generation Gap is mining the Lingenfelter collection again this week to compare two very different interpretations of the Pontiac Firebird. An original 1968 example goes toe-to-toe with a 2010 Lingenfelter Trans Am to see whether the old man or the modern re-imagining takes the crown.
Being from the Lingenfelter collection, both cars are absolutely immaculate. The '68 packs a Pontiac 350-cubic-inch (5.7-liter) V8 with a claimed 320 horsepower and some classic, muscular style with a hood-mounted tach. Plus, it's painted in an understated shade of green that you don't usually see.
In the other corner is Lingenfelter's pumped-up take on the classic shape based on the modern Camaro, and this is just one of six concept versions ever made. It wears an eye-catching, vintage-inspired livery of blue with a white stripe package. Under its shaker hood is a 455-cubic-inch (7.5-liter) V8 with a reported 655 hp and 610 pound-feet of torque.
