For Sale: 2000 Pontiac Trans Am Firehawk #0362. I am selling my car due to a divorce. The car has a few tasteful modifications as follows: True HID headlight and foglight conversion, clear side marker lenses, black tail light covers, every light bulb inside and outside of the car (except for the headlights and fog lights) have been converted to LED, it has an SLP lid, amd K&N air filter, smooth bellows, Texas Speed 1-7/8" stainless long tube headers, Texas Speed 3" stainless Y pipe, Hooker cat back with custom stainless tips, new Kenwood head unit with Bluetooth capability, all 6 speakers have been replaced with Focal Audio components and the trunk has been wired for an amplifier, but I will be taking my amp and sub out of the car before it is sold, the roof sail panel and lower portion of the rear bumper have been painted gloss black, and the wheels have been replaced with black corvette wheels. The tires are new also. The car is in near showroom condition. I also have a set of Spohn lower control arms and panhard rod that have not been installed but will come with the car. The car will come with 2 sets of keys and remotes. The BAD: The motorized radio antenna was bent while going through a carwash. I have not had the chance to replace it so I pushed it into the down position and disconnected the motor. There are a few very small rock chips in the paint on the front end of the car. One of the keyless entry remotes does not work bc it went through the washing machine in my jeans pocket. Both of the door panels have the cracks that all of these cars have. They were there when I bought the car, but are very small as of now (less than 2") and I have been very careful to shut the doors gently so they have not gotten any larger.

GM recalling 426,000 sedans over faulty transmission shift cable
Fri, 21 Sep 2012General Motors is recalling some 426,240 sedans that may have a faulty transmission shift cable, according to a National Highway Traffic Safety Administration report this morning. The recall concerns a fault within four-speed automatic transmissions equipped on 2007-2010 Saturn Aura models, and 2008-2010 Chevrolet Malibu and Pontiac G6 models.
The report specifies that tabs on the transmission shift cable may fracture and separate. Such a fault could cause a discrepancy between the actual position of the transmission and the apparent position of the shift lever.
GM is currently working to notify owners of the vehicles in question, and dealers will check and replace shift cables free of charge. Scroll down to read the complete NHTSA report.
Sci-fi movie Jinn features car designer, Firebird-bodied Camaro
Tue, 08 Apr 2014If you're an automotive engineer being tormented by an immortal being made of fire, then wouldn't you think it best to have a custom coupe called the FireBreather for your getaway car? That's the FireBreather in the image above, adorned by the red wings that once fronted the Pontiac Firebird, running away from a black cloud of evil in a trailer for the movie Jinn.
The Jinn is eternal evil, always waiting for the chance to make things float across rooms before going on homicidal urban rampages. The FireBreather is a Gen-V Chevrolet Camaro - from the V6 to the ZL1 - that's been through Classic Design Concepts' extensive list of exterior and interior modifications, including entirely new front and rear fascias and side skirts, sway bars and springs, Pirelli P Zeroes and an available Edelbrock supercharger.
The movie - FireBreathing chase scenes and all - was shot in Monroe, Michigan. You can watch the trailer below, but since the FireBreather only get a couple of seconds on screen, you can find out more about it on Street Legal TV and its official site.
CNN chronicles young girl building Pontiac Fiero
Fri, 26 Oct 2012At fourteen years of age, Kathryn DiMaria has already done what many self-proclaimed gearheads won't even attempt in their lifetimes. The Dearborn, Michigan teen is rebuilding a car from the ground up.
The intrepid youngster asked her parents when she was just twelve to start a Pontiac Fiero project, even offering to pony up all the funds herself. Father, Jerry DiMaria only expected the project to last a few months, but two years later, Kathryn is still at it. In this CNN video, the two are at Maker Faire (a DIY festival) rebuilding a 3.4-liter V6 engine out of a Chevrolet Camaro to replace the 2.8-liter mill found in the Fiero.
The whole family hast pitched in, with Kathryn's mother teaching her how to sew in order to complete the interior, father Jerry providing much of the technical know-how, and even her sister is chronicling Kathryn's progress through photos. Jerry even started a thread in a Fiero forum which has been live for two years and is now 22 pages long. Of the project, one forum member wrote, "welcome to the madness."
