First and foremost the car needs paint. the clear-coat is peeling and the trunk lid is blue. The dashboard and center console are cracked, probably from the sun. The seats do have a whole or two, but they are in good condition. The fog lights do not work, and one is missing. The hood is not a perfect fit, but you can only tell from up close. I have never used the cruise control so just assume that it does not work. The headlights occasionally do not instantly pop up, though they are plenty bright. The leather on the shifter is splitting. The AC works, but it does not blow as fast as some cars. The adjustable lumbar/side bolsters are only on the drivers side, and they do not work. There are a few customizations, the hood, the exhaust, the spoiler, and the aftermarket radio, as far as i can tell. When i bought the car i was told it had a 350, but the vin number says 305. 4 speed automatic with overdrive, less than 20,000 miles since the tranny was rebuilt. The car runs and drives great, its a blast to drive. sounds great. If you can come see it i suggest it so you know what you are bidding on, message me. Just inspected in July of 2013. David Hasselhoff's own KITT replica up for auction
Tue, 08 Apr 2014Depending on when and where you grew up, the name David Hasselhoff likely conjures up images of Knight Rider, Baywatch, pop singer, or possibly a washed-up TV actor, but one thing that can never be taken away from The Hoff is his connection to one of the greatest automotive icons in pop culture. The Knight Industries Two Thousand, usually shortened to simply KITT, was the real star of Knight Rider for many fans. Based on a Pontiac Firebird Trans Am, the car combined snarky quips for comedy relief and stunts to provide much of the show's actions. Now, Julien's Auctions is selling Hasselhoff's own replica as part of a larger sale of the actor's personal memorabilia collection.
This recreation is based on a 1986 Firebird and comes with all of the tech on the inside that now seems hilariously outdated, like the yoke steering wheel and plethora of buttons. The interior also thoughtfully includes a voice box with over 4,000 sound clips from the show. With a 5.0-liter V8 and an automatic transmission, performance is likely adequate and period correct. According to the listing, this car was created by fans and given to the Hoff. Sadly, the replica doesn't convert to Super Pursuit Mode like KITT could in later seasons, and we most associate KITT with conventional front-hinged doors to go with the power t-tops and ejector seats.
Bidding currently sits $27,500 with eight bids, since starting at $15,000. Julien's predicts it will sell for between $30,000 and $50,000. If there is some nostalgia for KITT in your heart, there is still plenty of time to bid.

It might sound like a pipe dream, but it's actually quite possible, if you're willing to think a little outside the box. The Pontiac Fiero is out there just waiting for a little work to turn it into a competent racing machine.
Think about it for a second. Of course, we would all like to be snaking through the curves in something exotic, but what happens when you crash or something breaks? The bills are going to mount up quickly. However, if you ball up a Fiero at the track, as long as you're not hurt, then it's not a huge tragedy.
That's basically the story of Steven Snyder in a new video from Drive starring Matt Farah. Snyder wanted to go to the track cheaply and ended up with an awesome little Fiero with a huge wing and a claimed 220 horsepower at the wheels thanks to a V6 from a Chevrolet Lumina.
