1967 Plymouth Satellite Original 82,000 miles

Car was driven up from Tennesee in 1990 to Wisconsin where it was parked until 4 years ago

Car has never seen winter & has 0 rust & never had any rust. Underneath of car is excellent & clean. Never been restored, A true survivor. The car retains its original paint with the exception of the right fender, right door, & right quarter panel. I had those items repainted at a local body shop because of some scapes & dings. Car has never been in an accident or wrecked.

Things I have done to the car

1. Re Chromed front & rear bumpers. This was almost $1000.00 by itself

2. Newer BF Goodrich Radial T/A tires 14 inch

3. New Gas Tank & Sending Unit

4. New Starter

5.New Alternator

6. New Brake Master Cylinder

7. New Fuel Pump

8. New Trunk Mat

9. New windshield washer bottle

10. New rear shelf panel & speakers

Things the car needs

1. Transmission leaks

2. Heater core started leaking this spring. I have by passed it for now

3. Right rear tire loses air very slowly. I air it up about every 2 weeks. The tire is ok, I think the rim is not sealing totally.

4. Right sill plate. Its missing

5. Turn signals on front fenders havent been working. Never had it looked at.

6. Factory A/C is not currently working. Everything is there

I have taken the car to local car shows & get lots of complimnets. Its not a 100 point show car but a very nice driver.

I am currently driving the car locally but I would have it gone thru before going on any long trips.

Original unmolested cars like these are getting hard to find. I have a clear Tennesse title in hand.

Barrett-Jackson 2014: 1970 Plymouth Hemi Superbird passes half a million dollars

Sat, 18 Jan 2014

The Plymouth Superbird is one of those classic American cars from the muscle car era that has captured the imagination of all sorts of automotive enthusiasts long after its presence on roads and race tracks wore away. It's easy to see why. Where else but in the Swingin' Sixties and Seventies would a car leave the factory with an aerodynamics package that included a pointy beak and a rear spoiler that sat several feet above the rear deck?
The example you see above, which was born in 1970, is one of the finest Superbirds we've ever seen. Combine its complete restoration with its original 426 Hemi engine, and it's no surprise that it managed to bring in a cool half million dollars (plus 10 percent in fees) at Barrett-Jackson. See it yourself in our high-res image gallery above, and scroll down below for the official auction description.

US Marshal's classic muscle car auction officially in the books

Thu, 25 Sep 2014

The US Marshal's so-called Blood Muscle Auction was completed earlier this month, with the prestigious nine-car field (two cars were added following Autoblog's initial story, a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS 454 and a rare, mid-restoration 1971 Plymouth Hemi 'Cuda) finding new and hopefully law-abiding owners.
While we'd normally recap the stars of the show, in this particular auction, every car's sale was newsworthy. The full list of sale prices doesn't seem to be published, but according to The New York Times, the auction brought in a total of $2.5 million, or an average of about $277,000 per car.
The king of the contest seems to be a 1970 Plymouth Superbird (above, right), complete with a 426-cubic-inch Hemi V8, which brought home $575,000. The trio of Yenko Chevys, meanwhile, all easily cleared the six-figure mark, with the Yenko Camaro (above, far right) clearing $315,000, the Chevelle crossing the block for $237,500 and the supremely rare - one of just 37 - Yenko Nova (shown above, left) selling for an even $400,000.

SRT belatedly claims Plymouth Prowler as one of its own

Wed, 19 Dec 2012

Before Chrysler had Street and Racing Technology, it had Performance Vehicle Operations. What the two entities have in common, before SRT became its own brand, of course, is that each was created to take Chrysler and Dodge (and Plymouth, before it was unceremoniously killed off) vehicles to the next level of style and performance.
We'll leave the question of whether or not the old Plymouth (and later Chrysler) Prowler was ultimately a stylish, performance-oriented car to you, but the boys and girls currently leading the SRT charge at the Pentastar headquarters are keen to accept the retro-rod into the fold.
According to the automaker, all of SRT's current high-performance models owe a debt of gratitude to the old Prowler, due mostly to that car's use of lightweight bits and pieces and innovative construction techniques. If nothing else, the fact that the Prowler's frame is "the largest machined automotive part in history" is pretty cool. Read all the details here.
