1970 Plymouth Roadrunner equipped with numbers matching 383ci big block and 3 speed automatic transmission. Car is pretty much brand new top to bottom. It started life as a cream colored car with factory white vinyl top and factory go wing. Also codes out for the premium burnt orange interior. At the owners request we refinished the exterior to factory show quality PPG Hemi orange. Clear coat has been color sanded and buffed. Everything soft part on the car is new including but not limited to the door gaskets, trunk gaskets, windshield gasket, under hood rubbers, vinyl top, legendary interior, trunk mat, carpet, and dash pad. The gauges have been refaced and the console refurbished. Brakes are new all the way around and all of the steering components have been serviced and/or replaced. Wheels and tires are new, with a 4 wheel alignment. The engine is completely rebuilt to factory specs. Transmission has been serviced and is in perfect working order. The exhaust is completely new with flowmaster mufflers and new factory chrome tips. The original 8 3/4 rear end is also serviced with the factory 3.91 ratio gears that it codes out for. The engine is original to the car but the transmission is believed to be out of a different car years ago. The bumpers have been professionally straightened and re-chromed and the wheel well moldings are brand new. The entire restoration was completed last year and has only had a little over 100 miles on it since completion. As for the body, it is a rust free New Mexico tub that only required new center trunk pans. Other than that it did not require any patch work. This car is a real beauty and head turner. It is only in need of some very minor details to be a near perfect car. Small items that are still needed include but not limited to the vent cables, glove lock bezel, correct battery and cables. 'Blood Muscle' auction to sell impressive collection of ill-begotten classic cars

But being a criminal can involve more than just taking a trip to the big house; it can also mean losing possessions purchased from any ill-gotten gains. Still, one man's loss is another's gain, and if you're in Lodi, NJ, on September 12, you stand the chance to buy some of the ultimate muscle cars from the US Marshals in what is being gruesomely nicknamed the Blood Muscle auction.
The grisly moniker was earned because all of the vehicles belonged to the president of a blood testing company who is facing prison time for alleged bribery, according to Hemmings. After all, they are muscle cars bought with actual blood money. The seven-vehicle collection includes some of the ultimate muscle cars ever made, and the original buyer clearly had an eye for rarity.
This cornucopia of V8 power includes a teal 1970 Ford Mustang Boss 429, a 1967 Shelby GT500 Mustang, an orange 1970 Plymouth Superbird, a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS convertible and perhaps most prized of all - a trio of 1969 Yenko Chevys with a Chevelle, Nova and Camaro all represented. From the included photos, all of them look to be in fantastic condition.
US Marshal's classic muscle car auction officially in the books
Thu, 25 Sep 2014The US Marshal's so-called Blood Muscle Auction was completed earlier this month, with the prestigious nine-car field (two cars were added following Autoblog's initial story, a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS 454 and a rare, mid-restoration 1971 Plymouth Hemi 'Cuda) finding new and hopefully law-abiding owners.
While we'd normally recap the stars of the show, in this particular auction, every car's sale was newsworthy. The full list of sale prices doesn't seem to be published, but according to The New York Times, the auction brought in a total of $2.5 million, or an average of about $277,000 per car.
The king of the contest seems to be a 1970 Plymouth Superbird (above, right), complete with a 426-cubic-inch Hemi V8, which brought home $575,000. The trio of Yenko Chevys, meanwhile, all easily cleared the six-figure mark, with the Yenko Camaro (above, far right) clearing $315,000, the Chevelle crossing the block for $237,500 and the supremely rare - one of just 37 - Yenko Nova (shown above, left) selling for an even $400,000.
SRT belatedly claims Plymouth Prowler as one of its own
Wed, 19 Dec 2012Before Chrysler had Street and Racing Technology, it had Performance Vehicle Operations. What the two entities have in common, before SRT became its own brand, of course, is that each was created to take Chrysler and Dodge (and Plymouth, before it was unceremoniously killed off) vehicles to the next level of style and performance.
We'll leave the question of whether or not the old Plymouth (and later Chrysler) Prowler was ultimately a stylish, performance-oriented car to you, but the boys and girls currently leading the SRT charge at the Pentastar headquarters are keen to accept the retro-rod into the fold.
According to the automaker, all of SRT's current high-performance models owe a debt of gratitude to the old Prowler, due mostly to that car's use of lightweight bits and pieces and innovative construction techniques. If nothing else, the fact that the Prowler's frame is "the largest machined automotive part in history" is pretty cool. Read all the details here.
