Omaha, Nebraska, United States

1969 Plymouth Road Runner Convertible. Numbers matching 383,  4 Speed Transmission. Vehicle Identification number is stamped on both the Engine and transmission. Fender tag is there but  No build sheet. Typical B Body convertible.  The car is Jamaica Blue with a white interior, blue dash and carpet. 15 inch Magnum wheels on red Line tires. Air Grabber system. Power steering. AM 8 Track. Works fine! This car is solid straight and a consistant local car show winner. From what I gathered only 769 Road Runner 4 speed Convertibles were built in 1969. That makes this a real rare car. Especially with the original drive train!

It was an original Arizona car that went to California in the 70's. It was purchased from California in the late 80's and restored in MN. The guy finished up on it in about 1992. It had new rear  quarter panels and a trunk floor installed.  Other than that it was a very solid car. Also the engine was rebuilt to stock specifications. The Transmission shifts fine. Good clutch etc. This car , being restored at the inception of  The Muscle car hobby, has the best available parts paint etc for the era.  In about 1999 the car was brought to the Omaha Nebraska area. The chrome, the convertible top,  headlight and tail light bezels  were replaced with correct original parts. New door sill plates were installed too. All the lights, horn, dash lights turn signals work as they should. Even the BEEP BEEP Horn. A hit with the kids at every show.

This car is very straight and shows no areas of excessive filler or cheap parts. It was done right and still shows wonderfully. Good body lines and gaps throughout. I show it every summer at shows and people drool. The shine is beautiful and my car has the hood performance treatment flat black striping option. The interior is white vinyl and has the correct pearl shine to it. The tires and the Magnum wheels are in perfect shape. The under body of the car is very nice. The floors look to be original and are very clean. Dual exhaust with a turbo type muffler. Chrome tips.

This is the real deal here. it's an original Road Runner Convertible. Not some pieced together Satellite. You will love cruising this car to local drive ins and car shows and get thumbs up where ever you go. Is a keeper. I have purchased a 70 Barracuda Convertible and I cant keep them both. So I am offering both for sale and the first one that goes, I will keep the other. This car is sold as is. Transportation is up to the buyer. I am a straight shooter. My Ebay feedback is perfect. I want you to know every thing about this car that I know. Any questions call me any time. I love to talk cars, but please, serious, qualified buyers only need call. Low ballers? Well this is a real car so please dont waste yours or my time. I'm offering a Buy it now option, with best offer option too. My Buy it now is a very reasonable price for such a nice car. Shop around. I encourage you to compare my car to others and their price! I hold a Nebraska dealers license. So all paperwork and info will be perfectly accurate and no surprises. This is my personal car. I've owned it for a few years and have known the car since 1999. Its been in a private collection indoors. Now its in my personal collection indoors also! Im close to I 80 in Omaha. Easy transportation pick up area. Also.....Negative or 0 Ebay feedback members or Out of Country bidders must contact me prior to any transaction... Thanks! You'll love this car!!  Bernie 402 659 1118

'Blood Muscle' auction to sell impressive collection of ill-begotten classic cars

Wed, 30 Jul 2014

The old saying goes that if you can't do the time, don't do the crime. But being a criminal can involve more than just taking a trip to the big house; it can also mean losing possessions purchased from any ill-gotten gains. Still, one man's loss is another's gain, and if you're in Lodi, NJ, on September 12, you stand the chance to buy some of the ultimate muscle cars from the US Marshals in what is being gruesomely nicknamed the Blood Muscle auction.
The grisly moniker was earned because all of the vehicles belonged to the president of a blood testing company who is facing prison time for alleged bribery, according to Hemmings. After all, they are muscle cars bought with actual blood money. The seven-vehicle collection includes some of the ultimate muscle cars ever made, and the original buyer clearly had an eye for rarity.
This cornucopia of V8 power includes a teal 1970 Ford Mustang Boss 429, a 1967 Shelby GT500 Mustang, an orange 1970 Plymouth Superbird, a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS convertible and perhaps most prized of all - a trio of 1969 Yenko Chevys with a Chevelle, Nova and Camaro all represented. From the included photos, all of them look to be in fantastic condition.

Barrett-Jackson 2014: 1970 Plymouth Hemi Superbird passes half a million dollars

Sat, 18 Jan 2014

The Plymouth Superbird is one of those classic American cars from the muscle car era that has captured the imagination of all sorts of automotive enthusiasts long after its presence on roads and race tracks wore away. It's easy to see why. Where else but in the Swingin' Sixties and Seventies would a car leave the factory with an aerodynamics package that included a pointy beak and a rear spoiler that sat several feet above the rear deck?
The example you see above, which was born in 1970, is one of the finest Superbirds we've ever seen. Combine its complete restoration with its original 426 Hemi engine, and it's no surprise that it managed to bring in a cool half million dollars (plus 10 percent in fees) at Barrett-Jackson. See it yourself in our high-res image gallery above, and scroll down below for the official auction description.

'71 Plymouth Hemi Cuda Convertible sells for $3.5M [w/video]

Mon, 16 Jun 2014

We're plenty used to seeing classic cars selling for millions of dollars. It's just that they're usually European: Ferraris, Bugattis, Mercedes and the like. There are some rare American exceptions, usually wearing the names Duesenberg or Shelby. But what we have here is the most expensive Chrysler product ever sold at auction.
The vehicle in question is a Plymouth Barracuda - specifically a 1971 Hemi Cuda Convertible, chassis #BS27R1B315367 - that Mecum Auctions just sold after eight solid minutes of feverish bidding for a high bid of $3.5 million at its auction in Seattle, Washington. That figure positively eclipses the $2.2 million paid for a strikingly similar Hemi Cuda (chassis #BS27R1B269588) fetched nearly seven years ago in Scottsdale and another that was the first muscle car to break the million-dollar mark in 2002.
