1973 Plymouth Satellite Original Paint California Car on 2040-cars

Year:1973 Mileage:99449
Location:

El Cajon, California, United States

El Cajon, California, United States

This Is a 2 Owner California Car.

Original Paint And Interior.

Factory 400 Engine with Torqueflite Trans.

Factory A/C P/S Power Disc Brakes.

Always garaged.

This car runs and drives great. It goes down the road straight, no shakes, shimmys or pulling. Brakes do not have any pulsating or pulling. Engine does not leak or smoke, runs strong with no hesitations.

The engine is the factory 2 barrel 400 and has never been rebuilt but it has had the intake resealed, water pump, carb rebuild and regular maintenance and wear items such as hoses, belts and tune up plugs wires cap rotor etc... The oil is clean and coolant is still green.

The transmission shifts great, no thumps or slipping, shifts on time every time, fluid is red.

The brakes are very good. no shakes or shimmys. Fluid does not look new but its not bad either. Not sure on percentage of pads and shoes remaining but looks to be at least 50%. the parking brake does work.

The interior is all original and in great shape. The headliner is all there and is not sagging but does have discoloration. The front door panels and rear panels are excellent, no tears or warping. The dash does not have a single crack in it anywhere and looks like new. All of the gauges, lenses and needles look like new and they all work except the clock. The rear seat is excellent with only a minor stain from seatbelt. passenger seat is in great shape. Drivers seat has usual and to be expected wear but great considering mileage and age of car, 3 small seams have come apart, please see pics. The carpet is in excellent condition with only slight discoloration starting to take place on tunnel hump. The radio is stock and works perfect. A/C and heater controls all work. All of the interior lighting works, floor, dome, gauges etc...

The body is in amazing condition. It has the usual and to be expected door dings but all minor.  There is one dent on the passenger quarter panel, maybe a pole or something. The paint on the dent is good and I had a paintless dent guy quote me $350 to get it out and he said the paint would be fine. A few minor scratches that would probably be able to be wet sanded out in a few different places over the years but again very minor. One fender (passenger fender) was repainted sometime in the early 90s due to a kid on a bicycle hitting it. Please see pic. It looks to be the same shade but you can see some minor paint cracking and its not as shiny as the rest of the car. Fender was painted on the car, trim, badge, wheel well moulding and signal were not removed and only upper portion was painted. Panel above grill was painted around 2000 due to paint chips. So other than half of 1 fender and front panel in front of hood the paint is all original. There are NO rust spots at all anywhere. Nothing is starting to form in any quarter panel, fender or door, very very solid car. The floors and trunk are like new. The vinyl top is in ok shape. The lower piece that is below the rear glass was loose and was removed so water and moister would not sit. there is 1 spot that has a tear just above the glass that should be repaired as well, small stain of rust in tear but it is very solid and no sign of serious rust underneath it. You can push on it with your finger and you do not feel or hear anything, again this is a very small area and the car has always been stored indoors. That is the only spot of rust on the entire car.

All of the trim is in pretty good shape. There is a few dings in a couple places, worst being the driver side eyebrow moulding just above the headlight. Front bumper is perfect. The rear bumper look great but has a small imperfection in the drivers side lower corner, not bad or noticeable. The passenger side of the rear bumper has a little paint scuff that will probably come off but I have not tried. The plastic grill has a couple cracks but not bad, no missing pieces.

All the windows go up and down with ease, doors open and close easily and are very solid. hood and decklid open and close easily and you do not hear any loose rust particles in either as you do some cars.

All of the lights work, headlights hi and low, running lights, turn signals and trunk light. The horn and wipers work as well.

Brakes and suspension are good, tires are ok but are starting to wear and they are pretty old. They are not dry rotted because the car has been stored indoors for its entire life but they are old. It does have a spare that is not seen in the picture. The factory jack kit is in the car.

I have a lot of the  original paperwork including the factory window sticker, sales contract, warranty cards, owners manual and very first 3000 mile service receipt. I have a stack of paperwork on everything ever done to the car since new. It still has the original license plates along with the factofy dealership License plate frames from Cunningham which was once located in el Cajon California. This is an original California car that has never left the state and still remains in El cajon.

The car does have a clean California title and is available for viewing and test drives. Winner must pay the entire balance within 3 business days from end of auction and car must be picked up within 2 weeks from payment received unless prior arrangements have been made.  No scams, scammers, checks, money grams etc... Bank wire is preffered but I will accept cash and paypal. Please note that paypal will not release funds for a few days and I will not release car until funds have been transferred.

Please look at pics good. Remember this is not a restored car but it is an original paint and interior car that is in amazing condition. Remember it has 99,000 miles on it and is 40 years old. It is getting hard to find cars like this and they are only original once...

SRT belatedly claims Plymouth Prowler as one of its own

Wed, 19 Dec 2012

Before Chrysler had Street and Racing Technology, it had Performance Vehicle Operations. What the two entities have in common, before SRT became its own brand, of course, is that each was created to take Chrysler and Dodge (and Plymouth, before it was unceremoniously killed off) vehicles to the next level of style and performance.
We'll leave the question of whether or not the old Plymouth (and later Chrysler) Prowler was ultimately a stylish, performance-oriented car to you, but the boys and girls currently leading the SRT charge at the Pentastar headquarters are keen to accept the retro-rod into the fold.
According to the automaker, all of SRT's current high-performance models owe a debt of gratitude to the old Prowler, due mostly to that car's use of lightweight bits and pieces and innovative construction techniques. If nothing else, the fact that the Prowler's frame is "the largest machined automotive part in history" is pretty cool. Read all the details here.

'Blood Muscle' auction to sell impressive collection of ill-begotten classic cars

Wed, 30 Jul 2014

The old saying goes that if you can't do the time, don't do the crime. But being a criminal can involve more than just taking a trip to the big house; it can also mean losing possessions purchased from any ill-gotten gains. Still, one man's loss is another's gain, and if you're in Lodi, NJ, on September 12, you stand the chance to buy some of the ultimate muscle cars from the US Marshals in what is being gruesomely nicknamed the Blood Muscle auction.
The grisly moniker was earned because all of the vehicles belonged to the president of a blood testing company who is facing prison time for alleged bribery, according to Hemmings. After all, they are muscle cars bought with actual blood money. The seven-vehicle collection includes some of the ultimate muscle cars ever made, and the original buyer clearly had an eye for rarity.
This cornucopia of V8 power includes a teal 1970 Ford Mustang Boss 429, a 1967 Shelby GT500 Mustang, an orange 1970 Plymouth Superbird, a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS convertible and perhaps most prized of all - a trio of 1969 Yenko Chevys with a Chevelle, Nova and Camaro all represented. From the included photos, all of them look to be in fantastic condition.

US Marshal's classic muscle car auction officially in the books

Thu, 25 Sep 2014

The US Marshal's so-called Blood Muscle Auction was completed earlier this month, with the prestigious nine-car field (two cars were added following Autoblog's initial story, a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS 454 and a rare, mid-restoration 1971 Plymouth Hemi 'Cuda) finding new and hopefully law-abiding owners.
While we'd normally recap the stars of the show, in this particular auction, every car's sale was newsworthy. The full list of sale prices doesn't seem to be published, but according to The New York Times, the auction brought in a total of $2.5 million, or an average of about $277,000 per car.
The king of the contest seems to be a 1970 Plymouth Superbird (above, right), complete with a 426-cubic-inch Hemi V8, which brought home $575,000. The trio of Yenko Chevys, meanwhile, all easily cleared the six-figure mark, with the Yenko Camaro (above, far right) clearing $315,000, the Chevelle crossing the block for $237,500 and the supremely rare - one of just 37 - Yenko Nova (shown above, left) selling for an even $400,000.
