Des Moines, Iowa, United States

If you are looking for a super nice 2009 Nissan Maxima SV, you have just found it.  We bought the car on April 6, 2011 and are the second owners.  We have extensive service records and receipts for the car and it even comes with a transferable extended warranty good till April 6, 2017 or 100,000 miles, whichever comes first.  Garage kept and non-smoking car.  It smells like leather inside, not stinky feet!

It has the highly desirable Sport Package which includes sport tuned suspension, 19” alloy wheels, sunroof, rear spoiler, HID Xenon headlights, leather seats, power tilt/telescopic steering column, heated steering wheel, paddle shifters, automatic entry/exit system with 2-driver memory, along with the Sport Technology Package which includes Navigation, Bluetooth hands-free phone system, 6 disc CD changer, XM, backup camera, heated seats, iPod interface, and AUX audio/video input jacks.  We have also installed headrest mounted DVD players with headphones, games with game controller, and remote, which was professionally installed.  The DVD players can play the same movie or can each play their own movie independently, which the audio can be played through each independent head phone or through the car speakers.  There are also several games which can be played using the game controller.  We have even professionally tinted all the windows behind the driver's seat, which looks really nice.  Of course the car also has the Nissan Intelligent Key with push button ignition.  No need to ever take the keys out of your pocket.  Factory window sticker included.

We have taken very good care of the car keeping up on all the preventive maintenance.  New tires were installed on 5/2/13 with 64,281 miles on the car, new brake pads with all the rotors being rotated on 8/18/13 with 67,939 miles.  The Nissan dealer did a multi-point inspection on 4/3/14 which showed everything on the car is in excellent condition.   This is a pristine Maxima which needs nothing and nothing is broken.  If something happens to break down on you in the next 3 years, you have the extended warranty to cover it.

Tier 1 suppliers call GM the worst OEM to work with

Mon, 12 May 2014

Among automakers with a big US presence, General Motors is the worst to work for, according to a new survey from Tier 1 automotive suppliers, conducted by Planning Perspectives, Inc.
The Detroit-based manufacturer, which has been under fire following the ignition switch recall and its accompanying scandal, finished behind six other automakers with big US manufacturing operations. Suppliers had issues with trust and communications, as well as intellectual property protection. GM was also the least likely to allow suppliers to raise their prices in the face of unexpected increases in material cost, all of which contributed to 55 percent of suppliers saying their relationship with GM was "poor to very poor."
GM's cross-town competitors didn't fare much better. Chrysler finished in fifth place, ahead of GM and behind Dearborn-based Ford, which was passed for third place this year by Nissan. Toyota took the top marks, while Honda captured second place.

Infiniti confirms new "premium compact" to be built in UK

Thu, 20 Dec 2012

Aside from certain naming-related news, Infiniti has actually had some decent product news to announce this week. The company's president, Johan de Nysschen, alluded to a new 550-horsepower performance sedan, and now the automaker has confirmed that a new "premium compact" will go into production in 2015. Based on the fact that this new model will be built alongside the Nissan Leaf at the automaker's Sunderland, UK assembly plant, we could only hope that it's a production version of the LE Concept (shown above).
Sunderland already produces Nissan products like the Qashqai, Juke and Note, and as a part of an investment of 250 million British pounds (around $406 million USD) for the new model, the plant would add an extra 280 jobs with the capacity to build 60,000 of the new Infinitis annually. Adding the premium compact at Sunderland means that Infiniti will have to change its plans for another new model, a bigger "C-segment hatchback," which could very well be a production version of the Etherea Concept.

Nissan recalls over 120,000 Altimas due to... spare tire inflation?!

Mon, 29 Apr 2013

A pressure regulator that over- or underinflated spare tires for five days earlier this year has led to a recall of 123,308 units of the 2013 Nissan Altima. Sedans that were manufactured from March 21-26 are those possibly affected by the temporary tire snafu, the recall for which will begin on May 3.
Those notified of the issue can take their sedans to their local Nissan dealer, who will check the tire pressure and correct it if necessary, but we imagine owners can probably just whip out a tire gauge to check and adjust the inflation for themselves. Should you need it, there's an official notice from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration below with a few more details.
