2011 Nissan Cube.  This car has 118,000 Highway miles.  I was a courier and delivered light duty computer parts across the eastern and southern states, thus the mileage.  I am the original owner.  This car is in tip top mechanical shape and very good cosmetic shape.  I have washed this car from day one by hand with a sponge, never touched with a brush, and the paint looks like a new vehicle.  The interior is in excellent condition too.  Oil has been changed every 5,000 miles with Castrol syntec synthetic oil.  It has a new set of tires with less than 10,000 miles and new brake pads.  I have taken very good care of this vehicle.

I have installed an aftermarket Pioneer Avic-D3 navigation unit.  This unit plays DVD movies, has navigation (with a new 2012 east coast maps disk and a 2009 west coast maps disk), and built in Sirius satellite radio.  I also have the original NISSAN radio that I can install if you prefer instead of the navigation unit.

During the last winter a large piece of ice flew off a state truck and struck my front bumper.  This cracked the front bumper in the lower driver's side corner and caused a minor flex in the quarter panel.   Please see pictures for visual of damage.  Also, a few years ago when delivering a computer part out of state at night a man hole cover was missing and my tire dropped into the hole.  The transmission pan got bent but no other damage occurred so Geico replaced the transmission at roughly 96,000 miles.  So there is a new transmission that only has a little more than 20,000 miles on it.

Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns.  This is a great car and a great deal.

2014 Nissan Rogue

Fri, 01 Nov 2013

When I first started in this whole automotive journalism biz, I held a sort of hodgepodge receptionist/gopher/production assistant role, and each morning as the staff filed in, I'd ask them how they liked whatever car they were assigned to drive the previous night. Most of my colleagues would regale me with anecdotes about how good or bad a vehicle was, but one co-worker, every single morning, would answer my query with the exact same phrase: "It was fine."
I always assumed this was just a brush-off, an "ask me again after I've had a cup of coffee" sort of response. But then I found myself in a similar moment of brevity following the launch of the 2014 Nissan Rogue earlier this week. After returning home, a friend asked me what I thought of the new Rogue, and I replied, word for word, "It was fine."
And, well, it was. Nothing worth wasting exclamation points over, good or bad. Aside from something like the interesting-to-drive Mazda CX-5 or funky-looking Jeep Cherokee, nothing in this class really tries to set the world on fire. And that, right there, is fine. Nissan doesn't need to do anything crazy with its second-generation Rogue. It just needs to offer a well-equipped crossover that's handsome, functional, efficient and priced right - sticking to the same formula that made the first-generation model so successful while offering the latest crop of creature comforts in a more modern package.

Datsun debuts new seven-seat Go+ in Indonesia [w/video]

Wed, 18 Sep 2013

The Datsun name may have long since been replaced by Nissan, but the old brand is making a comeback - in certain markets, at least. Nissan relaunched the Datsun brand in July as its new budget brand for developing markets with the debut of the Go hatchback, and has now followed up with the addition of the larger Go+.
Set to be built in Indonesia at Nissan's plant in Purwakarta, the Go+ debuts today in the capital of Jakarta as the second model in the new Datsun lineup. The seven-passenger minivan features flexible seating in a compact form 13 feet long, powered by an unspecified 1.2-liter engine mated to a five-speed manual transmission.
Nissan isn't saying much else about the model, but hopes the new Datsun twins will account for half of its sales in Indonesia within three years. The low price target for both models - set to come in at less than 100 million rupiah ($8,700) - ought to help it get there. The lineup is then scheduled to reach other markets, starting with India, Russia and South Africa next year.

2013 Nissan Pathfinder: Wrap-Up [w/video]

Tue, 13 May 2014

Despite our tendency as enthusiasts to clamor for things like wagons and hot hatchbacks, it's hard to argue with the buying public's increasing demand for functional crossovers. In fact, the great SUV craze of the late-1990s has all but faded in favor of the easier-driving, better-packaged, more-efficient crossover. That's even true at the larger end of the market - just look at what happened when Ford redesigned its body-on-frame Explorer into a stylish and well-equipped CUV. And now look at the similar success Nissan has had in repurposing its rugged Pathfinder sport-ute as an appealing crossover.
But happily, we report the following line: out of every long-term vehicle Autoblog has ever tested, not a single one has been as in-demand as the 2013 Pathfinder Platinum you see here. After 13 months of solid use, we added 24,372 miles to the Pfinder's odometer - and that's without the vehicle ever leaving the hands of our Detroit-based team (sorry, West Coasters).
There's good reason for that high-demand usage, too. After spending a little over a year with our Mocha Stone tester (a color that earned this Nissan the nickname "Sweet Brown") we came to appreciate its vast versatility, comfort, all-weather prowess, and the way it absolutely ate up the miles on long trips. We drove it all over the United States, in all four seasons, filling it with our families, friends, and occasionally using its capacious cabin for sleeping on the road. Through good and bad, the Pathfinder was a trusty friend. But like any good friendship, that wasn't without a couple of fights.
